She lightly scratched the top of the small cat's head, hand drifting as Sumi shifted so she could scratch behind the feline's ear. "Other than toys, have you thought to ask your cat what it might want or need? Obviously not inside the pet store, but... This really isn't the best place to have a conversation about what a cat like this might need." Her brow had furrowed slightly as she glanced up to her cousin. Her own run-ins with Guardian Cats had been limited, at best, as she'd progressed through the senshi ranks. One had always been around in the right place at the right time when she'd needed a power-up, but beyond that? Nowhere to be seen. She knew they were around Destiny City, but the where was always up in the air as far as the Senshi of Vengeance was concerned. "You're really thinking about being roommates with a cat?"

"Do you see him?" He carefully set Sumi back down in the buggy and ruffled the cat's fur before he looked at his cousin again. "I can't just leave him out on the street. Some stray dog would eat him." He'd had to save the kitten from two larger tomcats already. "And ... he was looking for me," He pitched is voice low so it wouldn't carry past the two of them. "He can't remember why but he knew it was me." He had talked to Sumi about what sort of things he might want and most of it was things he figured a regular cat would need. "I did a bit. Normal cat stuff. I mean he needs food and a bowl and obviously a brush and a bed."

"I give it a week before he's sleeping in your bed with you." A smirk tugged at the corners of her lips before she snagged a small bag of organically grown catnip, tossing it into the buggy as well. "Cats like-- What was it you said his name was? Sumi? Cats like him have a...Second sense about things, I guess would be the best way to put it. He knew your name, though? This one? Or your other name?"

He scrunched his nose at the idea of cat fur being all over his bed. He was going to have to buy a lint roller or three. "Yea, Sumi." he nodded, moving away from the toys so he could look at the bowls and various dishes. Who knew there were so many options for things to feed your pets out of. "The other one." He murmured. He prodded at an over priced and overly decorated bowl with a slight scowl. "Couldn't remember how he knew it or why but," He looked at the kitten who'd opened his mouth to speak and gave him a look. Sumi's face scrunched slightly and he huffed at being shushed. "said it felt important." And so the kitten had gotten lost looking for him.

"Well, at least he found you-- Or you found him, rather, before anyone on the other side could pick him up." Cordelia shook her head slowly before reaching past Lucien to point at a different set of dishes. "These ones would go a bit better with your kitchen. Sumi might not be all that fond of kibble, though, so you might find yourself using regular plates and bowls more often than cat dishes."

"Why do you keep saying things like that?" He picked up the dishes she'd pointed at so he could see how sturdy they were. "You're being cryptic." He didn't understand why either. Sure Sumi was obviously more intelligent than a typical cat and could talk but he was still a cat.

Cordelia pulled out her phone, opening an internet browser to do a search for 'cat girls' after turning the safety feature on the search engine. Once she had an image pulled up she nudged Luc. "Because some of them," she made a gesture towards Sumi, "can turn into these." Her phone was handed over to her cousin at that, giving him a moment or two to ponder as she continued down the aisle, heading towards the wall that started out with cat trees and hammocks before giving way to a small adoption center lined with cages and cats sponsored by one of the local humane societies.

He looked at the picture that Cordy had pulled up on his phone, wondering why in the world she'd pulled that up, before looking at Sumi. The kitten stood up on it's hide legs, paws on his arm, to see what he was looking at. "I can't do that yet." the kitten muttered, looking up at Lucien. "Shush." He made Sumi sit back down before closing his cousins phone. "You can't show me this and then walk off!" He called after her.

"Can and did!" She called back over her shoulder with a broad smile. It wasn't like they could discuss the specifics of it here where anyone could hear them going on about magical girls (and boys) and their equally magical cats. Luc would have to wait until they were back at his flat to ask both she, and Sumi, more questions-- His fault for inviting her along, really. Cordelia paused by the plexiglass enclosures, stooping down to wiggle her fingers at a trio of small kittens being housed together. They were tumbling and toppling over each other until one paused to come bat a paw at her fingers, bumping its small head against the window afterwards. She straightened herself out before moving to the next space, eyes lingering on the cat inside for a moment before looking at the description sheet. Quote: Name: Maggie Breed: Silver Tabby (unique star mark on forehead) Info: This lovely lady came to us on January 20th. She was brought in as a stray wearing a unique magpie necklace-- We think she may be missed by someone, but we've had no luck locating her owner! Very sweet disposition! Gets along well with others. Unique star mark on forehead... "Luc! Hey, Luc... can you come here?"

He sighed and set her phone down on the seat beside Sumi while rolling his eyes. They couldn't really talk here but she was supposed to be helping him pick out kitten stuff. He had figured she'd actually help him rather than poking fun at him and making things worse. He wanted to be able to take care of Sumi properly and thought she'd be a little more understanding. Beds were next on his list but he was distracted by Cordy yelling for him. He headed around the aisles, spying her over by the adoption center. "What?" Heading that way he parked the cart and scooped Sumi up so he could see what she was fussing about. "Kittens?"

"No, not kittens. Cat." She pointed at the flyer, tapping lightly on the plexiglass to see if she could get the feline to look up from where it was comfortably curled up inside a box mounted inside the enclosure. Her head was sticking out through a circular hole, the back of her head to the window so that her face couldn't be seen. "Sumi, Luc and I can't tell when we're... Like this. Is this one like you?" In order to sense whether or not the 'unique star marking' was something special and not an actual fur pattern she or Lucien would have to be powered up. They couldn't sense anything without their magic, but Luc had a build in beacon sensor riding around in a buggy with him.

He shifted his grip on Sumi and looked at the flyer. It looked like a normal one for an adoptable pet but after reading it over he saw what Cordy was talking about. All the cats had the strange stars on their foreheads. Sumi leaned carefully out of Lucien's arms and put his paws on the glass. Leaning his nose against it he mewed softly. It was another cat like him but they seemed to be napping. If he'd been stuck in a box like that he wouldn't have been napping. He'd have freaked out. Lucien was going to shush him again if he tried to talk and he hoped the cat inside the enclosure would actually pay attention.

The cat's ear flickered at the sound of the soft mew, recognizing it as different when compared to the sounds of the kittens in the enclosure next to her, or the elder tom on her other side. Her back arched as she stretched slowly, drawing her head back into the box so that she could turn around and peer out once more. As she woke her senses adjusted, picking up the trace of another Mauvian. "Look, I understand that Luc doesn't want you talking in public, but we aren't as in touch with our sixth sense like this... So if you could just maybe nod once if that cat is another Mau?"

He mewed at the other cat again, one small paw patting the plexiglass before he looked up at Cordelia. He was going to have to remember that Senshi couldn't sense things when they were being 'normal'. He tapped the plexiglass again and nodded. "If it is we can't just leave her there." Lucien said, trying to see the other cat again.

"No, we can't. Stay here while I find out what we have to do to get her out of there." She looked to the cat for a moment, resting her hand against the plexiglass before turning to find someone who worked at the pet store. The cat slid out of the box she'd been sleeping in, stretching her paws out in front of her and flexing her toes. She trotted towards the window, reaching up to lightly bat her paw at the kitten's. Letting herself get caught had been a decent way to get off of the street during the cold weather, but she'd been cooped up for too long. It would be much nicer to be out and about again.
