Sauron heard the door open, but thought perhaps it was one of the kids wandering in so he did not look up from his ledgers. It was swinging around to moss gathering time again and he had wanted to take a peek at the expenses from last year.
He rustled some of the papers, made a note or two in the margins. Sipped some of his tea. It had been the hardest time in his life having Kelina gone, even when she was in labor with the triplets he had had her around.
