spaceAs the pair continued on down the walkway, Yang marveled over Quinn's enhanced weapon, complimenting her handiwork ((punchline, handiwork, more great puns lolol)). The golden haired woman walked with her hands placed firmly on her hips and her shoulders back, a strong stance. Quinn's own prowess exuded strength, as well, and the two looked like a force to be reckoned with. Yang couldn't hold back her chuckle at the mention of Nora. That crazy woman... was she even allowed to mentor at Beacon anymore? After trying to teach her students to ride Ursa, Yang figured Glynda would entirely ban her from the campus, "Ooh, Nora's in town? I need to get up with her." It was true that Nora was a storm of a human being, but she and Yang always cleaned up quick when they took missions together, both dominating forces. "I never can pinpoint what that man is thinking... he's gonna wind up giving Glynda an aneurysm, though." she mused aloud as they neared the campus and, in turn, Ozpin's office in the sky. He really was a mysterious person, even now after everything they'd been through. It was still weird. For all the answers she got, she was always left with more and more questions.
spaceThe familiar sound of metal against metal echoed through the air, alerting Yang and Quinn, apparently. The taller woman stopped walking to listen and Yang mirrored her. She nodded to Quinn when asked if she heard the sounds as well. There was no telling who was engaged in battle right now. It could be students, but like Quinn said, the mentors this year were a bunch of... well, they could be rowdy. Especially when they were together. Yang opened her mouth to ask Quinn if they should check it out, but the other woman was already dashing towards the ruckus, prompting Yang to mirror her once again. Heavy, long-spaced footsteps followed behind fierce snaps as the pair went to find out what exactly was happening. The closer they got, the more excited Yang got. Sure, she should be a responsible mentor and stop any fights, but sometimes they were just too good. She wore a smirk as she ran behind Quinn, breath even and eyes sharp. They approached Main Avenue in haste and Yang watched Quinn come to a halt, only a handful of paces in front of her. Her eyes fell on Quinn as her hood fell to reveal a confused face. Curiosity peaked at the other's disbelieving question, Yang turned her gaze to follow Quinn's line of sight, two figures visible in the near distance.
space"No way!" That was when she saw him: her uncle, Qrow. Honestly? She wasn't surprised in the slightest. The woman let out a boisterous laugh, bending at the waist and propping her hands against her knees, "Why didn't I guess that?! That crazy old man," another fit of laughter escaped her as she leaned up, one hand holding her stomach and the other wiping jovial tears from her eyes. She couldn't see who he was fighting, but she did see a tree break down and fal. The woman looked over to Quinn, grin plastered on her sunny face, "I guess he's my responsibility, huh? Gotta uphold my duty as a mentor, or I'll never hear the end of it." She shrugged her shoulders up and started to saunter over to Qrow, arm waving in the air, completely comfortable walking into the middle of a battlefield.
space"Hey, old man! You wanna get an earful from Goodwitch?! You're not--" That was when she saw a familiar, thought-to-be-dead, figure propel himself to land on the statue. There was no way... she thought he was dead. She watched him as he talked down to Qrow; why were they fighting? Yang stopped where she was and stared. He disappeared three years ago and now he just... shows up and is fighting her uncle? It wasn't like they were close friends or anything, but they knew each other. That was when a cat on the battlefield meowed up at Lyon. Wait, Yang knew that cat. Her violet eyes scanned the other roads and alleyways until one Velvet Scarlatina came into view. "Velvet!" The woman half-shouted, motioning at her with a look of confusion, arms motioning animatedly at Lyon. Honestly, Yang wasn't sure what do to anymore. Even regarding Qrow, sometimes he could be a loose canon she definitely didn't inherit that from him, and she was unsure if her calls would stop his onslaught.

((I'm finally off for two days omg))
Qrow let out a grin as Lyon stated it not being any of his business. All Qrow could think about was how he was going to eventually make it his business. See who's laughing then. As Lyon landed on the top of the statue, Qrow was reminded of Sun Wukong and his excellent sense of balance. It almost made him scratch his head, Lyon was more definitely not some faunus with a tail. It was only then that Qrow realised someone had referred to him from somewhere behind. It was definitely the use of 'old man' that got his attention, and for a moment he began to look over his shoulder, mumbling something along the lines of "Oooold?!" but Lyon was continuing, then moving his arm out to begin shifting his weapon. Oh... that's how it is... Qrow thought to himself, gleefully grinning to himself as he tightened his grip on his blade.
Qrow mirrored Lyon with his stand, and suddenly his own weapon began to crank and make sounds of movement, but unlike Lyon's, his blade began to extend and bend into an arch over his shoulder. However, as Lyon went on about bad luck, Qrow cheaply exhaled. "Heh, stories...." He looked ahead, then noticing a lady approach with bunny ears from not far behind Lyon, looking shocked, perhaps even horrified. Qrow almost couldn't resist Lyon's bait, and very almost let his scythe completely form before just in the last moment a woman called out from behind. Yang?! he thought, twisting his head to suddenly see his golden girl standing not far behind, calling out Velvet from ahead. His head looked ahead and his sword quickly calmed down, unwinding and folding back up firmly behind his hip. Qrow then twisted on his foot, facing Yang. "Hey, pipsqueak" he said, "I'm standing right here! And-" his attention turned to Quinn, another huntress he was well aware off, a mixture of surprise, discomfort, and empathy. "eh... you too. I thought I felt a storm brewing."
I am no one's blessing, I'll just bring you harm. I'm a cursed black cat, I'm an albatross, I'm a mirror broken,
I wanna tell you that you're all that ever mattered. Want you to know that, for eternity, I'm shattered. I tried so hard just to protect you, but I failed to. And in a prison of abandonment I've jailed you!
Now it's time to say goodbye! To the things we loved, And the innocence of youth. How the time seemed to fly. From our carefree lives, And the solitude and peace we always knew.
Quinn, who had actually been having a decent conversation with Yang for a short while before finding Qrow causing trouble in the main avenue, was still pulling a stink eye. Even as Qrow began folding up his blade, Quinn seemed to be oozing disappointment and shame in a huntsman who was twice her age. Just as Yang was laughing so much her body couldn't take it, Quinn said "don't encourage him!" She quickly sunk her head into her hand as she let out a sigh, finally hearing Yang say she'll go ahead and attempt to stop this mess. I don't have time for this... Quinn thought, shaking her head as she looked up again, taking in the scene as Yang called out a girl's name. Velvet... Quinn couldn't recall knowing anyone under that name. Quinn couldn't help but then notice all the confusion and gesturing towards the red-haired man. Why all the focus? He was just another madman with a sword trying to cause trouble. Then, to top matters off, Qrow was definitely accusing her of bringing bad weather. "Okay" Quinn said, stepping forwards with a heavy tap from her heels, "will somebody tell me what exactly is going on here. And you two are meant to be adults" she then gestured to Lyon, "well, I'm not sure about you" but then she turn to Qrow with a mean eye and said "but you really need to stop making these visits unbearable. And stop using me as an example of pathetic fallacy" Quinn enjoyed literature, she uses the term often, "maybe you're the one bringing the sad weather!" Not that it was even raining or anything at all, in fact it was a nice day.
Honestly, it was a 66% chance that Qrow was gonna be here whenever she visited, and every time he would be a drunk mess, starting an argument, or talking about some top secret business she couldn't know. Not that she cared, it just made her visit all that much longer. She wanted to get in, get the information she wants, and leave as quickly as possible.
My heart is broken... Sweet sleep, my dark angel.
When doors are locked, I'm gonna get you. You are not safe, not any place, not anywhere. I'm coming to get you, yeah, I'm coming to get you. I have a surprise for you, beware, beware!

Lyon's death had never been confirmed, only assumed. It's usually like that. If a hunter or huntress failed to return from a mission, death is the general assumption, especially for how long he'd been gone. If anyone thought this profession came with no risks, they were completely wrong. This issue was that it wasn't reported. There was no body, Professor Ozpin refused to divulge any information regarding said mission. He also danced around any attempt to bring up the topic, never saying whether or not the two were still in contact. His demeanor had made her suspicious, and she'd never quite believed in her heart that Lyon had died. They didn't even have a funeral for crying out loud! It was as though he'd completely vanished without a trace. The entire situation was suspicious. She had, however, acknowledged that he was gone. Now here he was... Reappearing on the first day of school fighting Qrow Branwen of all people. The pair hadn't seemed to notice her yet, completely involved in their battle. It wasn't like she was very close anyway.
Latte, for some reason, took off in that direction. Velvet, though, honestly had no clue what she was going to do as she approached the scene. At this rate, she didn't even know how she was feeling: elated, relieved, or frustrated. The woman did know that she couldn't let this fight go on for too long. Her ears perked up when she heard her name being called out by a familiar voice. Yang? She seemed about just as confused... Who was she with? The young woman looked familiar, but Velvet knew she hadn't been introduced. Perhaps she'd seen her in passing or something. Thankfully, that's when Qrow had stopped as well. If they had gone any further, Velvet would have had to intervene, fully prepared to dash into the fray to stop this nonsense.
Snap. A bright flash came and went. Qrow's weapon was not one she had access to, after all. As the faunus woman neared, camera in hand, an awkward air was settling. If it hadn't already. While the fight seemed to have stopped, both men still had their weapons drawn. Velvet's gaze switched from Lyon to Qrow before she finally asked, "what's going on?" She didn't want to make a bigger deal over Lyon's presence, at least not yet. I want to know what happened and why he felt it necessary... but that isn't a conversation for now. Not here. Still, he wasn't safe from her concerned gaze, the woman looking him up an down. Despite her confusion, she was prepared to give him a reassuring smile if they made eye contact. Velvet was disgruntled, sure, but not unforgiving. Though his disappearance was going to need some serious reasoning. Putting her camera away, she shifted her weight toward the long lost Lyon. "Honestly, if Glynda weren't at the ceremony, she would have been here in a fit already." Her attitude was surprisingly calm considering it felt as though her heart were ready to jump out of her chest.

"What are the chances, eh?"
❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖
Well, it seemed like their trouble-making would be cut short quite early today. As Lyon had predicted, people showed up just as things were about to get good. What was surprising, however, was who it was that showed up. Was it just chance that Yang had stumbled across them? No, judging from the way that Qrow was reacting to his niece, this was probably a result of Lyon's semblance interfering with their battle. Had it brought Yang here by adjusting the probability of her stumbling across the two of them? That's an all-new level of troublesome. He thought to himself. The man was also a little disappointed that he did not get to see the full extent of Qrow's fighting prowess. The man had been activating some mechanism that Lyon could only assume would have increased his fighting potential in some way. Everything's just getting ruined today, huh? He thought to himself, looking over towards Latte with a rather half-hearted smile on his face. Just looking at the cat made him realize who was probably nearby.
Yang shouting out Velvet's name only made the situation worse for Lyon, and he quickly jumped off the statue in a knee-jerk response. Landing on the pavement, he turned to where Yang was looking to see his little bunny rabbit staring over at them. While normally he may have acted a bit... awkward seeing her after all this time, his normal mental process was quickly interrupted by some strange woman he had never met before throwing out insults and attempting to.... scold him and Qrow? As she went on, Lyon merely cracked a legitimate smirk while listening to her, unsure of what he should say in response to this. Qrow seemed to have said she brought bad weather, and Lyon could see why. "I don't know about the old man there, but I've never claimed to be an adult. I'm the everlasting, youthful leprechaun." The young man mocked Quinn, throwing out a rather joking response to what she was saying as he stretched a little bit. "That aside. Isn't it kind of ironic that you're questioning the immature actions of two men, chastising them even, and your only response to the old man's comment is essentially, 'No, you are?'" Lyon asked, a small smirk on his face as he made the comment towards the woman.
The snap of a camera, however, brought him back to what he was thinking before, and he turned his attention towards Velvet. She seemed to be looking him up and down with this concerned look on her face, something that caused Lyon to feel a bit uncomfortable. "Ugh... sorry. I was expecting to see you after I had the chance to put on a bit of makeup. It kinda tends to freak people out a little." Lyon stated, motioned towards his face and the large "X" that seemed to be slashed into it. One could tell this was a very old wound, at least two years old judging from the way it had healed. The man had probably earned it during one of his first outings after he had disappeared. "Oh, right." Lyon muttered, taking his sword and putting it back in the sheath on his back. it was completely back to normal at this point, the man having saved himself the displeasure of showing his trump card. "So... um..." Lyon, understandably, was at a loss for words. He had not seen this woman in years, and anything he said might upset her considering the circumstances regarding his disappearance. There just was no easy way for him to start up a conversation.
Luckily, Velvet seemed to try and have a calm conversation by bringing up the missing Glynda, explaining that she was at a ceremony. "Well... I wouldn't say she's entirely gone. We've got 2.0 over here after all." Lyon stated, motioning towards Quinn with a quick point of his thumb. "You're a professor though, aren't you? Shouldn't you be at whatever ceremonies the faculty are attending? Especially on the day of the initiation ceremony?" Lyon asked, somewhat concerned about shy she had to show up here of all places. That, completely separate from Yang showing up, was the epitome of bad luck for Lyon. He was certain he would at least make it an entire day on this giant campus before he would have to explain himself to Velvet. That, however, was not the case, and he even ran into Velvet before he had a chance to speak to Ozpin! That's just unfortunate. He thought to himself, disgruntled by this turn of events.

spaceYang tore her gaze away from Lyon and Velvet when Qrow addressed her. Her face flattened at his endearing nickname for her and she placed her fists on her hips, leaning towards him slightly, "Pipsqueak?" She asked incredulously. It was then that a very perturbed Quinn spoke up to condemn the pair's actions. She and Quinn had actually been having an easy conversation, which was very much Quinn's style, but having this interrupt it seemed to throw the other woman off tilt. She laughed a bit over the pair's exchange, "You guys are too much," shaking her head some and turning her gaze back to Lyon and Velvet. The redhead was now on the ground and looked... well, there was a mixture of emotions on his face. Velvet was the same, but concern was the strongest one there. The blonde was confused over why Lyon and her uncle were fighting, and was a little surprised to see Qrow starting to fully extend his weapon, but more than anything she was glad they stopped. The whole situation was weird. Lyon showing up out of the blue was definitely the icing on the cake. Making a little "Hm" to herself, Yang shifted her eyes back to Quinn and Qrow, "So, what're you even doing here, Qrow? Just causing some trouble or is there... ya know, an actual thing you're doing?" Far be it for the family to keep in contact with each other. The only one that tried to keep up with it all was Tai, but he was a family man after all.
spaceOut of the blue, a reptilian looking faunus stopped mid-step to stand next to Velvet. Yang perked up an eyebrow and looked at her for a moment. She recognized her a bit? But not enough to remember her name. Was she a teacher at the school? She probably caught sight of the woman at the Commencement Ceremony. Hm, why did she feel like she was forgetting something? It was then that Velvet mentioned the ceremony. It hit Yang like a brick wall, causing the brawler to pale and groan audibly, slapping her hand against her forehead, "Aw, crap! Forget you, Glynda's gonna kill me! I was supposed to meet the team I'm mentoring right now!" She groaned her last few words out as she slid her hand down her face in defeat, "Maybe it would be safer for me to stay away from the Amphitheater. Maybe Ruby or Elliot can tell me who my team is." She unballed her fists against flattened her palms against her hips now, sigh heaving from her chest and eyes closed in defeat. This was her first year as a mentor and she had already messed up Step 1.

VELVET SCARLATINA
(_/) (o.o)

professorScarlatina Faunus → Professor → Beacon Academy
When Lyon had brought up the X-shaped scar on his face, Velvet had simply shook her head with a bit of a smile. It's appearance wasn't the problem. He was still Lyon, after all. A big ol' scar on his face wasn't going to change that. Only how it got there was what concerned her. Just what sort of mission had he been out on? He seemed a little at a loss when it came to conversation, so perhaps her attempt to keep it mildly normal for now was appreciated, though she wouldn't be able to know for sure. At her question of the ceremony, though, it seemed like Yang was suddenly on top of things. The faunus had thought her appearance here was strange. She was, in fact, on the roster to get paired up into a team. In fact, her relationship with Elliot Vermillion would've made her think that she'd be there in hopes to mentor whatever team he ended up in. "I was wondering why you were here, Yang," she commented with a pitying smile. If Goodwitch were here, there'd be all sorts of trouble brewing. She'd be in for it later.
Lyon motioned toward Quinn, with the joke of Glynda 2.0, and it was very, very hard not to snicker at it comment. The man was usually quick with words. She didn't know the woman at all, though, but with her outward demeanor as it was, Velvet doubted she was going to be any level of pleasant. Laughing would not provide any sort of aid. "Yeah, well, to be honest, I'm a little behind in paperwork before tomorrow. I was heading to my classroom to catch up. They haven't picked me to mentor yet, so my being there would be for show," she explained in response to Lyon's question. It seemed like she wasn't the only one, however, Amara approaching the group with a smile. Velvet returned the gesture before glancing back over to Lyon. "It isn't rigorous or anything." She had already come to terms that this would be another semester of his disappearance with no answers from Ozpin, certainly not to see him on the very first day! Honestly... I'm not sure if this is fortunate or not.
There was certainly an air of misfortune about this. She'd expected a little bit more from their reunion, but she wasn't about to make anything awkward for anyone with so many people here. This was still where she worked, after all, and making Lyon uncomfortable was the last thing she wanted to do. Little did she know that her very presence was capable of doing that much. "Do you have some time?" The question sounded innocent enough, but he'd probably be aware of the several others it entailed. The woman pulled on her sleeve with her fingers. As much as she did not wish to be an inconvenience to him, he probably had to check in with Ozpin when he was free, after all... but there was a sinking feeling in her that if she lost sight of him again, he'd be gone, as if this was all some sick dream. This wouldn't be the first time.
You should trust one thing, Take my advice, If you linger close, It's a hefty price.
I don't mean to bring you pain, But I will, just why, I can't explain.
Quinn's focus was derailed until Lyon replied. "That's offensive to leprechauns." Quinn said, standing straight and crossing her arms, scowling at him. Qrow then interjected, "hey! What's with everyone calling me old today?" He gestured with his hands beside him. Honestly, he felt victimised. As for Lyon's continued replies, Quinn turned to face him again, her eyes glaring down at him as he began to smirk. "I'll add more scars to that face, and I won't even hesitate." There was a sudden bright flash coming from Velvet's direction, a dazing blast if Quinn had to comment about it. But luckily it broke the conversation enough for matters to move swiftly onto another subject. Quinn watched quietly up until the point of a Glynda joke being thrown at her. But by this point all Quinn could do was turn her face away without much of an expression or sound. Qrow, however, snickered. As they listened to Lyon and Velvet talk, Qrow could've laughed at how unfortunate Lyon's circumstances were becoming.
Just then Quinn couldn't help but notice the arrival of another woman, a faunus in red, who seemed to step beside Velvet and silently watch like a statue with a smile. Qrow, after taking another swig of his hip flask, shrugged and shook his head, having no idea where this one came from. Thankfully, there was some conversation for Qrow to dig his claws into. His attention was brought back to his niece when she asked him about his business here. "An actual thing?!" Qrow said, stepping over towards Yang, "I'm actually mentoring this year, so you've got some competition."
Discussion with Yang quickly changed when she caught wind of the ceremony, and Qrow's face suddenly changed to realisation too, albeit for only a moment. In fact, he was mid-swig when his eyes turned wide to watch Yang slap her face with surprise. Qrow wiped his face clean and then said "Why'd you think I avoid Glynda all the time?" His tactical approach was to never let Glynda find him, that way she can't ever let loose her fury.
That was when a quiet, "do you have some time?" came from Velvet, just as the other's stopped talking, and Quinn couldn't help but catch wind of how these events were going to change. Now was her chance! With one swift movement she brought back her hand and opened her fingers behind her neck, catching her hood around them as she arced it over her head. With her hood back up she shook her head, letting out only a silent sigh that Yang perhaps caught wind of before she began strutting away from the group. Distractions... all of them she thought to herself, staring onward and upwards towards the location of Ozpin's tower. She didn't care if she was going to be early, she'll wait for him. Qrow, meanwhile, noticed her sudden movement and gave yang an odd look, but for a split second his face calmed and expressed pity. He took in a large breath, filling his lungs like a bird as he exchanged this look with his niece. "So" he then said, moving on, "I feel like this jammy kid has some catching up to do" QroW gestured behind his shoulder with his thumb

"What are the chances, eh?"
❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖
"Oh wow, quite a schoolyard bully. You must of been popular back in day, eh?" Lyon mused at Quinn's threat, obviously entertained by her statements as well as her attempts at belittling him. Besides, plenty of people have tried to add scars to this beautiful face. Only one's ever managed. He thought to himself, flashing a rather toothy smile towards Quinn. His attention was drawn back to Velvet when she began replying to his question about why she happened to be out and walking about. In other words she's not required to go and she wanted to get some work in since she was behind. That makes sense, regardless of how unfortunate this little chance meeting was. At least she's doing well though. I can't really say the same for myself. He thought to himself as he observed the faunus carefully. Talking to her was a little bit awkward... but at least it was doable. Her clarification that it was not rigorous caused a slight smirk to appear on Lyon's face. "No, I guess that wouldn't count as rigorous, would it?" He commented back, putting his weight on a different side as he noticed another faunus approach the two of them.
Another unfamiliar face. I didn't really wanna get caught up in a crowd, especially since I'm not exactly supposed to be showing my face just yet. He thought to himself, rubbing his neck slightly as he tried to figure the current situation out. Looking towards Velvet, he noticed that she was pulling on her sleeve rather strangely as she asked him if he had some time. The question instantly made him pale a little bit and being trying to think of a reply. "Time... huh? I mean..." Lyon did not know how to deal with a situation like this, especially when he was already pretty late in regards to the mission he was sent out to do. Noticing Quinn had walked away towards the school, Lyon merely sighed a little bit. "That's not really something you've got to ask, you know? I've always got time, Velvet." He responded rather casually, obviously having resigned himself to the fate of having to deal with this awkward situation way before he had planned to. "Oz is sort of used to me... not being in contact for a good long while anyway. So I'm sure he won't notice anything's too... amiss." He clarified, not really sure how to phrase what he was saying.
His attention then caught something else... and he simply stared at the woman for a few moments. "Hm..." He muttered as he stared at the woman, not sure what to say what was on his mind. "I just noticed that you haven't changed at all... not one bit. Even the clothes you're wearing are pretty similar to when I last saw you." Lyon mentioned, observing himself for a few moments and then looking at her. Lyon was the epitome of change, down to his face having a scar on it now, and he was wearing completely different clothes. His weapon of choice had even been modified slightly. Meanwhile, Velvet seemed like she had not even aged at all, still as youthful and adorable as ever. It was... rather strange to him that she had not even changed the style of clothes she wore. "I mean... I guess there's nothing wrong with falling into a habit." He stated, smirking a little bit as he tried to tease the rabbit faunus just a little bit. "It's definitely better than trying to keep up with the world. Everything's changing all the time, and it gets to be a headache pretty quickly." Lyon commented, stretching a little and holstering his sword at the same time.

VELVET SCARLATINA

Velvet sighed heavily before smiling at the man when he agreed to being free. Of course. Lyon was still Lyon. Time had changed his outward appearance, even adding the big scar across his face. She wondered how long ago he'd gotten it. Still, he was the same witty guy she remembered. Although why he'd gotten into a fight with Qrow was still a mystery and so was the woman that had just taken off toward the school building like this was a colossal waste of her time. So, he was here to meet with Ozpin. So that confusingly aged man had known Lyon's status all along! Then again, the "good while" Lyon mentioned could have very well been the three years he'd been gone. "Well, as long as you think so," the faunus replied, still smiling. That statement was thoughtful enough to make it seem like she wasn't incredibly salty about whether or not the headmaster knew anything about Lyon's location. Velvet, however, had no qualms about keeping the redhead away from Ozpin for a little while. Though it probably meant nothing to the other two, the faunus saw her calling of dibs to be some form of payback for dodging her questions all this time.
It took a moment to realize Lyon had been staring at her. Raising an eyebrow, she'd open her mouth to ask if something was wrong before he spoke. Velvet puffed out her now lightly flushed cheeks at his declaration. True, she hadn't changed very much over the last few years. She wasn't going to deny it. Maintaining a standard was healthy for a classroom setting after all, but it was somewhat embarrassing to hear aloud. For some reason, she had the feeling that had been his goal with such a statement. It was easy enough to compose herself, however, and the woman placed a hand on her hip, leaning forward toward Lyon with a grin. "I wear other things, thank you. If anyone's the same, it's you," she teased in return. It was incredible to be able to talk like this again. Even despite the goliath in the room, simply interacting with him felt like a weight off her shoulders. Qrow's voice suddenly caught her attention. Jammy kid? Was he referring to Lyon that way? Why? She shot a look over his way briefly before deciding it wasn't worth the question. "Amara, Yang, I'll catch up with you guys later, okay?" Velvet asked the two women before pointing toward the school.
Lyon probably had his trepidations about what Velvet wanted to ask about. She understood that... What was he thinking by just vanishing without a word, though? What did he expect her to think? She looked down at Latte with a rather blank expression. The cat simply returned her gaze before meowing. The sound made her smile. He was always a vocal one.

"What are the chances, eh?"

Lyon was rather surprised by her statement that he was the same as he had been before. Surely the man had changed quite a bit since he left three years ago. Did she mean mentally though? That must be it. He was way too physically different to be treated as the same. "I'm totally the same." He commented with a slight smirk on his face, obviously enjoying their little conversation. "Just not as pretty." He commented, chuckling a little bit as he stuck both of his hands in his pockets. It was strange... but it felt nice to be around Velvet after all this time. It surprised Lyon when Velvet immediately turned to her coworkers and told them that she would catch up with them later, instantly taking him up on his statement of having some free time to talk with her. Geez, I figured that was just a casual question and we'd be able to chat freely for a little bit around others. I didn't think she'd just up and tell everyone to leave so she could have some alone time with me. He thought, feeling the gravity of the situation intensify as he figured this would probably be some sort of meaningful conversation they were about to have.
In response to her pointing to the school, the man simply nodded slightly and began to walk in that direction. "Yeah, we can talk over there if you want." Lyon stated, not sure about how he should act in this kind of situation. Latte seemed to be following right behind him, almost like some stalker that was taking great pleasure in watching the prey squirm. I bet he led her here right after I showed up to get back at me leaving all those years go. The little guy's a lot smarter than I give him credit for... or maybe he's just incredibly devious. Either way... I'm gonna have to think of a way to get back at him later. Lyon thought to himself, his eyes gazing back on the feline behind them for a couple seconds before turning back towards the rabbit faunus beside him. "I can see you've kept up with your photography since we last talked. It's nice to have a hobby, but don't you think you should ask for people's permission to take a picture of them before just flashing them in the eyes like that?" He joked with the faunus, smirking a bit as he prodded her in the arm to get a response.
"Not that that bothers me too much. You can take as many pictures of me as you want, maybe hang them on your walls." He commented, trying to tease her a little bit to try to lighten up whatever scolding she might have prepared for him. After all, the man was gone for three years, and he was sure this rabbit was not going to let him get off easy on that. "Maybe you should take some pictures of yourself too. It'd be... nice to have something to remind me of you when I'm away." He commented, trying to find the right way to get the words he was thinking out. Velvet had always been special to him... but he was not really decent at conveying just how special she was to him. That sort of led to the awkward phase of always being around each other yet never trying to actually make anything of it. It also made it even stranger when he had to leave for such a long time. The only memento he had of her was the little rabbit foot that was currently dangling from his belt. On that note, he happened to look down at it for a brief second when the memento came to mind as something to remind him of Velvet.

"I'd say I'd take my chances. After all, luck's always got a way of finding its way to me."
NAME >>> Jazz Myers LOCATION >>> Beacon - Main Avenue COMPANY >>> None EMOTION >>> Excited MISSION >>> None (make friends)
- - - - - -
Jazz was excited to be here, although his face didn't show it. Jazz stood for a moment taking everything in. Beacon. I'm actually here. I suppose I ought to try and find my way around.I wonder if there's a reception that could help direct me about, no point in wondering aimlessly. The wind rolled softly by spreading the smell of the well kept garden, it was a pleasing sweet scent mixed with a subtle damp smell. Slowly Jazz made his way down the long street, carry on held over his shoulder, dressed in a well kept uniform. He watched as students went about their day, trying to see which routes were most used and where they appeared to lead.
He noticed that people tended to move in groups of four. I suppose that's the team system I was told about. I wonder how they set that up. Or do they expect students to organise it themselves? Th thought of having to find 3 people that not only would compliment his skill set but also be people he could get along with momentarily filled him with dread. What if I join a bad fit. 4 years is a long time to commit to something like that... Well an attitude like this isn't going to help. Remember, stand tall, smile and be polite. He had a habit of slouching, everyone he grew up with was smaller than him so he subconsciously tried to lessen this difference, much to Mr. Aidou's scoldings.
As he made his way towards the amphitheatre he spotted two students tucked away, they seemed to be having some sort of meaningful conversation. Hmmm. I suppose this is an academy, relationships shouldn't be a strange sight. I'll leave them to it, I don't wish to intrude. Looking about it was obvious he had no idea where he was meant to be going, yet he moved with such conviction that it could be confused as him having an objective to be fulfilled before reaching wherever it was he was supposed to go. Passing the statue Jazz stopped, he couldn't recall the meaning behind it, so decided to look for some kind of plaque, he didn't find any. Well that's quite the oversight. Perhaps it's one of those modern art pieces? Or it really is just about triumph over the creatures of Grimm. Deciding he had already wasted enough time on this he continued on his way.

Team ECHO
ʂvalrvænn Hildrhárr ~The Valkyrie~
Thou seek the light with an outstretched hand A divine blade lies before you, So command the wake of dreams To restore the world, cut ‘way the seams
A cold wind exhales, from the mountain half And wind blows through hollow dells Skies clear as day, shall soon turn to grey And you’ll know, Hildrharr is here.
((I hope starting here is alright, maybe they can decide where to go from here))
Svalrvænn had enjoyed much of her time in her first few classes, as well as the time spent to get to know the other students that she would be training with. Something that she enjoyed was how she shared classes with older students. Hildr thought that it was good to learn from those who had experience, and not just the teachers. Her teams instructor, Ruby Rose, was a spectacle to be admired. Like the gem, she had a shine about her, it wasn't too bright, unlike her personality, but it was strong. It showed in her prowess and... uncanny teaching methods. Yang had the same kind of methods, Hildr put it down to them just being related, and it must be some strange thing they do in Patch. She still hadn't visited Patch, actually.
By now Hildr was walking down the Main Avenue at Beacon with Sigmund. The two met nearer their dorms and headed out here to decide where to go next. She walked alongside Sigmund with a sort of poise in her step. She had her hands cupped into each other over her waist, and kept her shoulders back and pace unchanged. Looking ahead of her, Hildr took in the horizon that led to the cliff, "it's nice to finally have a break and do what we want." She turned her head to face him, her expression calm, her eyes however, filled with joy. As if a weight was lifted. "So... I was wondering. I have heard that there's a noodle bar in town, the locals seem to have more than a few good words for it. Including Ruby." Hildr finished with a chuckle, her eyes squinting slightly as she did. "Should we grab something to eat?"
((sorry if this is small for the moment, thought it was a nice place to start?))
Clearing your path is an open hand Your pain and fear melt away Close stands the shield-maiden, and in time, you will know You’ve been saved by the Valkyrie, Hildrharr
Join in our prayer, in our song of birthrights and love Come the sun, illuminate the sky Pray that we may quell the dark - Light take the throne Lost in thoughts all alone
Sigmund didn't have much to do today save for running a few errands. It helped that there wasn't a class to worry about, but didn't mean he was free from responsibilities. Tala and Rainer didn't make plans as far as he knew To his knowledge Stella had something to do, yet was rather secretive about it. Sig didn't mind so much, but thanks with the help of her sister knew it was a date. The boy had his suspicions on who it was, but didn't want to voice his opinions or jump to conclusions. He wasn't one to go prying into the lives of other people. Stella was a different story seeing as she could be rather nosy when she wanted to. In fact, he was pretty sure she would follow him from time to time when he was going to visit his family especially his sister. Those times he felt like being followed were the times he would use his semblance to go through things just in case to get her off his scent. It would explain why she was sometimes miffed with him when he came back from his small journey. Today was interesting in the fact that Hildr had asked him to have a casual hang out. The boy was on friendly terms with her, but was still getting to know team ECHO, so didn't know too much about her. The initiation wasn't that long ago if anything around a month. They had met outside the dorm, and were currently walking down Main Avenue. The boy just went with a t-shirt, a light jacket, and some jeans. His scarf was naturally around his neck like usual. The boy's attention went to Hildr when she began speaking offering a small smile. "Yea, I guess everyone needs a break from their team every once in awhile. I don't usually go out too much unless someone tags along with me from my team. Namely Stella for the most part. I hang out with Rainer from time to time when we need to get away from our female members. Tala.....that's a work in progress to even this day." A small nervous chuckle escaped his lips. It was obvious that Tala was the least connected with him out of the other two. There wasn't anything he could do, but take it a day at a time.
The brown haired young man tilted his head when she brought up something to eat. The idea wasn't a bad one, but there was one thing he wasn't fully sure about currently was the fact of his partner. She could be nosy when she wanted to be, and wouldn't be surprised if they somehow ran into her within the town. "Oh boy, things involving your Mentor can sometimes lead to trouble though. Weiss has perfectly made that clear." Sigmund jokingly mentioned along with a light chuckle, before running through the different places in his mind. "What was the name of the place? I know there are a few options out there. It doesn't help that I lived in Vale all of my life, so I wouldn't exactly know the place your talking about." The young man questioned. "Also fair warning I apologize in advance if we run into Stella. I know she had plans in town as well. She can....jump to conclusions especially regarding me because I'm her partner. The girl can be rather nosy when she likes. Speaking of which, why did you invite me to a casual outing? It was kinda out of the blue. You don't advice about something, or have a question or two regarding your team do you?" The red eyed second year asked in genuine curiosity as he looked over at the first year.
