Loke had only grinned at her mention of attending Medowview. "Same! Ha, wonder what the chances are we knew each other?" His brow furrowed a little as he considered this, pausing to really look at her face, see if it clicked in his head one of his old classmates, or a photo from the photo album his mom had stored away somewhere. But nothing clicked in his head beyond the familiarity of the various times he'd interacted with Varuna, the senshi.
Still, he smiled and shrugged, not especially surprised by the lack of epiphany.
"Might have to look into if I could afford to try out some lessons, or at least go out and see the places. Would be cool to see a horse face to face." He spoke easily and casually, looking over the menu after Varuna made her order--though he did take note of what she was ordering. Just for future reference...
He ordered a cappuccino, needing the caffeine and sugar, along with grabbing a fresh cinnabun. He paid quickly, before tucking the wallet away back in his boot. The glaze was still melting on the cinnabun as the handed him the sugary food on a plate, and he lingered at the counter not only for Varuna to prep her tea as needed, but for his drink.
"What're shows like? Do you do anything specific, or like, specialize in anything?" Clearly, Loke knew jackshit about how how horse shows worked, but he looked at her with curious eyes, opening the door for her to explain as little, or as much, as she wished.

This was strange, sitting with someone from another faction in the war, having a warm drink and late night snack with them, and even in a public place. But it also felt like something she could get used to, something that she didn’t mind or feel uncomfortable about. Maybe the fact that she felt somewhat comfortable around Loke, for whatever reason, was what made it strange.
“I’d like my own horses one day. I can’t afford it now. I’m in school to become a ve-” she suddenly stopped, biting at her lip as she realized once again she was giving out too much information. This was dangerous and she knew, but as she glanced curiously over at Loke, she couldn’t pick up anything nefarious about his expression or his body language.
“I want to be a vet,” she finished, glancing back down to the bowls with oatmeal and fruit piled high. Once they were settled in a booth, she poked at the warm oats with her spoon, although not eating anything just yet.
“I don’t really specialize in anything, but the horses do,” she quietly explained, although she supposed that would make sense. After all, it wasn’t her skills outside of being able to handle the animals. “I’ve done some conformation shoes, where the horses are judged for breed standards, and showmanship competitions, where the handler and horse are judged as a pair for how well they interact together with the set course.”
She hoped it wasn’t too much to throw at him all at once, especially if he didn’t know much about horses. Maybe he was just saying he was interested to be nice.
With that thought, she poked her spoon into the oatmeal and shoved a large amount into her mouth for an excuse not to talk for a little while, ignoring the heat that stupidly flushed her cheeks.
