"Don't freak out. It's not like I'm trying to. I'm just saying I don't know what might happen. Okay?" He leaned against the dryer, gripping it in either side with his hands.
"I just need to sort some things out. I don't know if distance will make things better or worse and I honestly don't know what answers I'll come across. That's why I don't want to promise anything."

Melody fell silent as her mind wandered off into the land of what life would be like without Melvin. She shuddered at what she saw. No one being particularly good at cleaning aside, everything would go to pieces without Melvin's meticulous care. Even Mik seems to have responded very well to him. He looked so clean and shaven.
"What about Mikael?" She asked out loud. He was finally starting to take care of himself. What would happen if Melvin ditched now - so soon?
"... No chance I can come along too is there?" She felt it couldn't hurt to ask.

He laughed and went to hug her lightly, feeling she might feel a bit too lost without him around. Upon release, he stepped back.
"I doubt Jordan has room on the couch for both of us. As for Mik...." He frowned, thinking about it.
"...I'm here for him too. I'm not abandoning you guys. I still care about you two. It's just that I'm not in a good place right now. I don't want to do or say something I don't mean - just because of how I'm feeling."
"Forgive me for leaving for a little bit?" He asked.

"I'm worried what will happen now," she finally admitted. "I know you and Mikael said I belonged here but I don't feel like it. I'm nobody's family or lover. I'm just sort of a spare tire in the trunk no one really thinks about. Even less now that Mikael's brother is back and you're... well... not going to be here. Possibly ever again."

"Melody." His expression softened. The last thing he wanted to do was to feel that whatever illusion she had that he was the only thing keeping her in this home was shattered.
"If that is how you feel, I can't change that. I don't think you've' lived here this long without anyone feeling you don't belong here, but if you ever do get forced out, NOT saying that will happen, or if you just want to talk about it, you find me. Okay? This isn't the end of the world, and I don't want you thinking that just because I'm taking a break."
And then he paused. "What about a brother?"

"Okay..." she didn't seem all that hopeful about what Melvin was saying but figured Melvin at least knew Lawr better than her. If he said Lawr would be okay, surely Lawr would be okay.
"You'll visit though, right?" She perked up a little this time.
"Malkam?" Her tone sounded more like she was asking. She was unaware that Melvin didn't like.... know... yet. Oops.

But he was still left confused and now more side-tracked than before. "Who's Malkam?"

"Well if he is moving in here, then I'm sure I'll meet him soon. I'm....just honestly surprised. I never heard him mentioned before. I guess it means things will get a big crazy in here, but I guess that's good. Hopefully it will make things feel less empty without me around for a while. If he is nice, then I hope it makes everyone feel happier to have him around." Though for now, he couldn't stay just to meet him.
