He put up his palms and waved them frantically, as if that alone could protect him from the other senshi's emotions. "H-hold on, I wasn't sure if it was the right guy, either! I was just chasing the one you started chasing, but when you spotted the other guy later, I thought maybe I'd been wrong, so I didn't say anything. Didn't want to take your glory away from you since you seemed so sure."
Sinope tilted his head with a crooked grin. "And you didn't say you don't make mistakes. You said you don't make them often. If you didn't make them at all, you wouldn't be human. But the main point is that you tried. I probably wouldn't even have gone after the thief at all if you hadn't, first."
Why was he saying this stuff? He liked reasoning things out, but usually only for his own benefit. In this case, he only seemed to be doing it to make the other guy feel better. Since when did he care about others' feelings? Was it for his thanks? Or that he didn't want to be blamed?
No, he wasn't used to thanks and he was certainly familiar with blame. Maybe he just wasn't used to people being this upset because of him. Angry, maybe, but not sad. Was this guilt, then? Whatever it was, he didn't like it; causing him to act out of character.
The red-headed senshi swallowed uncomfortably and ran a hand through his disheveled hair. He was glad when the other boy changed the subject. "I was going to ask what Cadmus was," he chuckled. "Forgot you guys each have your own homeworlds. Must be pretty cool." He considered holding out his hand for a handshake, but decided against it. There was no need to get any more friendly with this Order senshi any more than he already had and he doubted Cadmus wanted to, either.
Since Cadmus had given his introduction, though, it seemed only fair that he return the favor, especially since he hated being indebted to people. "I'm Sinope. Heh...Cadmus of Cranberries and Sinope of Slyness. Gotta love alliteration," he remarked awkwardly. "Well...if that's all, I guess I'd better get going." His wraith was probably full of energy by now. "I'd...hate to continue being a cactus against your ear, heh."

It was awkward, this niceness. Cadmus wasn't sure if he should react surprised, disgusted, or genuinely thankful. The mixed emotions spurred him to silence, and he could only regard Sinope with a nod. Whatever he meant by it, though, seemed to remain ambiguous.
"Yea, it is... pretty cool," Cadmus said. He almost offered to invite him to it, but also decided against it. He wasn't a friend; never to be one, either.
Every fiber in his being was telling him: Don't do it, DON'T do it, but he smiled at the comment of alliteration, and then he hated himself all over again.
Cajoling with the enemy? What next, saving him from cute, fluffy critters? Cadmus wasn't that nice. The world would burn before he seeped himself in such a hell.
"Yea... Yea, I should go too. Return this to the guy and hope he didn't beat up anyone, ahaha." He held up the wallet when he said this, backpedaling a step. "That'd totally be a relief, yea. So, I'll, um..."
See you around? Bye?
"Have a good one, Sinope. I guess."
And then he turned, and ran as fast as his legs could take him; a sour taste in the back of his mouth.

Upon seeing a smile cross the White Moon senshi's face, Sinope's grin broadened. "So you can smile, after all. Looks good on you; you should do it more. Aside from making you a more convincing hero who seems to actually enjoy what he does, you can confuse your enemies with it." He winked. "Don't estimate the power of a smile."
The Dark Mirror senshi lingered a moment more even after the other scout had turned to go. "You too, Cadmus. Hope you get more of whatever you're hoping to get out of playing hero."Unoderi ((Good gracious; I'm so sorry that one last post took so long. sweatdrop Thanks for playing with me!))
