While Stampede could appreciate Giveforward's more approachable nature, she couldn't help but take Lull in Sunlight's surliness as a challenge. She really wanted to shake that up a bit...! Drawing from nostalgic memories of home, she asked in a steady tone, "What is there more of, the less you see?" Why, friend to all zikwas, of course -- "Darkness!"
Stampede was thrilled by the positive reaction. Not only that, it was almost the as if the mare knew her, what she wished for. Touched by the offer of a blessing, she broke out into a smile, but dipped her head deep in gratitude. A blessing! Lull in Sunlight was surely kinder than she appeared. She hoped more kin could see that side.
Quote: 8. Your riddle is exquisite and your cleverness is so pleasing, Lull in Sunlight grants you a trinket. If you return it to her, she'll grant you a blessing. (You get 1 token and can have a kin blessed by Lull in Sunlight.)

( #626078 ) Roll: 2 - The mare is laughing at you and her eyes are sparkling in amusement. (You get 1 token.) For all that she had listened to kin spill out their life stories, Death's Song only new one riddle. When it was her turn, she cleared her throat and spoke. "I see you where you never were, and where you never will be. And yet, in that place you can be seen by me. What am I?" she waited a heartbeat, and when neither mare spoke, she answered. "The reflective surface of calm water." she's not sure how it is funny, but she made the mare smile and that's what matters. Collecting her token she gives the pair a respectful bow, and heads on her way.

Morning Thaw approached the two, awed by their beauty. Giving a slight bow, she began her riddle, "What is bright and red, but if you eat it you'll be dead?" There was a pause before the right answer was given right away. Actually... A few answers were given. Oh. So there were many things that were red and poisonous? Embrassed, she gave another quick bow, "I'm sorry. I guess I'm not good at riddles. I will try harder tomorrow." Still, they offered her a token and Morning Thaw smiled appreciatively. Quote: Your manners are lovely, even if your riddle stinks. The mare gives you a token anyway. (You get 1 token.)

Runabout was still running about the festival, looking for fun things to try. The half-grown filly was blissfully unaware of what good riddles actually were, but she knew this one she'd picked up from another foal earlier. "What's brown and sticky?" she asked, playfully hopping from foot to foot. Before the mare could answer, she squeaked out the answer. "A stick!" She dissolved into bubbles of infectious laughter, and soon those around her were giggling, too- including the dark mare. It might have been a terrible riddle, but at least she was cute.

Spots actually manages to come up with something rather decent, and decides she's going to try again, despite the humiliating failure earlier. She side steps the scary gryphon and clears her throat, hopeful. "If you're in the woods, how do you tell if a tree is a dogwood?" She pauses and waits, unsure if anyone around here has sand dogs to get it. "By it's bark," she says hopefully. The pause is short, but by the short burst of laughter, she's sure she succeeded somehow. She warms up and takes the token graciously. At least this time she wasn't almost mauled!

"Can I touch you, too?" Okay is Wonderful asked. "Because I'd love to tell everyone that I got to touch a real live mare!"
The mare didn't seem to be responding. Okay is Wonderful drew closer, tilting her head and - ah, wait. She was asleep. That was unfair! Well, she'd just have to be unfair back. She nabbed a token from the pile with a sly grin and pranced off.

Lonely was terrible at riddles, but somehow, thanks to how obvious this one had been, she got it. A bright flash of a smile crossed her features as she received a token.
Awesome!
6. The answer is obvious but the mare gives you a token anyway. (You get 1 token.)

Vivid Color told the only riddle he had ever heard. What belongs to you but is used more by others? He paused and waited patiently to see what response he would get before giving it away. Your name. Quote: 2. The mare is laughing at you and her eyes are sparkling in amusement. (You get 1 token.)

Something More pondered for a moment, trying to think of an impressive riddle before approaching the intimidating mares. As soon as the other kin left, she walked toward them, sheepish but excited. "You speak my name and I break. What am I?" The doe paused for an answer, then replied. "Silence!" She explained, looking for praise. Sure enough, she got it in the form of a token. "Thank you!" Something More muttered, bowing her head and taking the token with her. (5. You probably just made this up and the mare's smirk tells you it's too easy but you get a token for trying. (You get 1 token.))

She did not think herself very clever, but apparently the wondrous doe besides Giveforward found her riddle clever enough to reward. Roses in Bloom smiled serenely, a pink tint taking her cheeks. It seemed the universe found her more clever than she found herself. With a quick little bow she excused herself, taking the token and excusing herself.
She would find the time to talk with Giveforward when she was in... less intimidating company.

"What gets wetter the more it dries?" posited Maize Maze. "A lump of moss you dry yourself off on after you get out of the water!"
That... well, it was... sort of a riddle. He took his token and darted off before one of the mares mauled him.

Wild Green Stones only laughed. "Me?" he said, incredulous. Yes, him. "Well, if you must," he winked. "Would you, dear, sweet, lady, like to dine together this evening down by the Tidewalkers' beach? You can provide the berries and I'll provide the eye candy."
Apparently she thought the response was transforming into a gryphon? "No," he said. "You're supposed to say yes, and swoon against me." But he didn't push any farther, and left when a friend came along to remove him from the premises.

(You get 1 token and can have a kin blessed by Lull in Sunlight.) Pit shifted, slightly uneasy, and thought about the riddle. "What...," no. He shook his head. "I am always found in the past. I can be made in the present. The future can never touch me." He shifted and giggled slightly. "I am History." He paused, surprised at the trinket and stammered thanks before taking both it and the token.
