“Well, we divide so the individuals whose strength is in a particular subject will be able to fully realise their potential.” Karo tried to think of an example. “Okay here is a good example. I fight with my fists, I have basic knowledge of other weapons but really my body is the weapon I use. Someone who uses a bow would not be able to fight as I do, they are long range fighters. As such we are divided and do not train with the same people or the same way. They have their own officer taking care of them as I have my own too.”

Karo wasn’t sure how much sense it made, but hey that was the best she could come up with. “I plan on being a general one day.” Her dream to take up her father’s position was not completely extinguished. The family name probably lay in ruins as the spoke, but Karothdra would fix it once she was ready. She would not lose her father’s place as a general in the Oban army.

“Sounds like the kind of fight my own family is having,” Karothdra chuckled lightly. “Except my brother and I fight for my father’s title.”All this fighting seemed so silly. “I guess that’s family for you, always fighting for what we want amongst ourselves.” Karothdra sighed. “It all seems petty.” Or maybe she was just feeling a bit mellow dramatic. “Seeing the world is good, don’t stay confined like I was. You need to experience and see things to understand. To find weakness and strength of others. That’s how you beat an opponent.” There was nothing more important than studying your enemy. Which was odd considering Tyiva could be doing the exact same thing right now.

“Well, if we decide to bath,” The words had been hard for Karothdra to say. “I can’t really show you, that would be a little odd, but you’ll see. Anatomically we are made differently. There’s a reason Earthling children are not born from flowers.” Even Karo didn’t know if she’d ever bear a child, it seemed like a tedious task. Alkidike had it so easy, pray and hope for a flower. There was no caring a child round in your stomach for months on end. You couldn’t fight and your boy was not your own anymore. Karo wanted children one day; she just didn’t know how she was going to deal with pregnancy.

“I’ll stay here,” Karothdra nodded. She would only slow the Alkidike down at this point. “But I do hope we can hunt together later on, I’d like to see how you work.”

Tyiva blinked before nodding, "I understand now. We all hunt with our specialized weapons and train as well. It's similar to how I will learn the blades while another sister will take up the spear or bow instead. Some even have mounts and take time to bond with them." So while their people trained separately in a battle they would come together as the Alkidikes did. Her interest did raise though with the declaration, "So I'm to be companions with a future leader of warriors?" The Alkidike grinned, "Seems fun."

The Alkidike's gaze did lower at the comparison, "It is rather wasteful isn't it? I feel as siblings we should help to support each other rather than try to tear another down for the top seat." She shrugged, "I honestly did not expect to inherit the blades, but my mothers decided so how could I fight against them? Not that I dislike the blades, no I truly cherish them. I was just holding off my own ambition to help my elder sisters instead." Her cheeks flushed lightly as she realized she was speaking too much on herself, "Not that it matters. All I know is now we have to wait on time to ease their tensions." She nodded, "You are right. Seeing the world definitely is a life-changing experience. I plan on learning much from my time away from home."

Tyiva turned her gaze over the woman, "There are? You don't...well I see." She coughed lightly, " It is not like I have yet to see radaku pups being born or something." She just didn't know how similar that was to earthling ways. Such strange races...even their mother let hybrids come from their blooms. Tyiva was always baffled when she heard about an alk hybrid who was...not exactly Alk in shape and rather masculine. More like the earthling males she had only glimpsed from afar, "Those that are fortunate get an Alkidike lover and from those blooms I have seen the strange hybrid children. Some of which resemble your anatomies far more than ours." She admitted with a small smile, "Adorable as they are it is still strange to see someone who looks as we do, but holds male form. Not that I've mingled with many save for the few blooms I've seen blossom as babes. So there is still much for me to learn about their earthling half."

At the confirmation Tyiva just nodded. Soon enough she would be climbing trees and shooting down a maglardilla for their dinner. It would be a good few breaths before she returned, but when she did the Alkidike held up her prize proudly. This would be a good meal to have before the sunset and then they could rest for the night with a full stomach, " I hope you are ready to try a new thing." She commented quietly before setting down to work on preparing the meat for the fire.

“I believe so,” Karothdra wasn’t really sure if it was the same but it sounded the same and that was good enough for her. Tyiva’s next comment made her grin. “Oh yes, if and when I decide to go back home that is the goal.” Of course there was also fixing the family name and taking care of her bother. Both of which she had no idea on how to do. Perhaps her brother had been released from prison or he was still rotting there. She wasn’t going to burden Tyiva with such thoughts though; she seemed to be dealing with her own family drama after all.

“Well, perhaps Alkidikes have it easier. But my family is different. Most of my siblings and I are from my father’s second wife, technically everything should be inherited by my older brother. It would be hard to support a sibling who looks down on the rest.” Karothdra shrugged. “Your mothers saw something in you and deemed you worthy to receive the blades, it’s an honor, don’t feel bad. My father was murdered before he could tell us if I would be his heir instead of my brother.” Karo gave her a sad smile.

“Well, I imagine a radaku birth being similar to ours but Earthlings have a lot more screaming going on.” The oban had never seen a live birth, but she’d heard enough stories. “I suppose male anatomy would look very strange for an Alkidike. I think female form is less… Ugly? I’ve been with very few men, but there is most definitely a difference between the two.” That was something else that Karo had run away from, a husband that would chain her to family life forever. Her mother would probably want her to marry once she returned, not only for the sake of the family but also her reputation.

While Tyiva was gone, Karothdra lounged about. She checked on her clothing, found a spot to sleep albeit she’d probably make it a little more cozy by covering it with branches. She wondered how Alkidikes slept in the wild and decided to wait until Tyiva had returned to see how she built things. When the Alk returned, Karo was sitting by the fire. She looked curiously at what Tyiva had caught. “I am always ready to try new things.” Karo said as she got up. “Anything you need me to help you with? You went out hunting, I may as well be useful.”

"Then I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors." The Alkidike smiled, "It is always refreshing to see a warrior with such ambitions. I never realized earthlings could have such goals as well." She glanced over towards Karo, "I see. Thank you for those words - surely if your father had survived he would have chosen well. It is possible that it would have been you. The best thing to do is not doubt your own will and continue to work towards that goal. I'm sure his spirit will be proud to see such a warrior rising from his own blood."

Tyiva could only shake her head as their conversation continued, "More screaming? Then I am glad Aisha blooms so well for us." She teased lightly, "They are strange indeed with those...well extra bits." She motioned as if something was swinging, "Seems painful if they accidentally were to hit them while running or something." She chuckled, "Women definitely are more alluring to me - at least from what I've seen so far." She glanced over at Karo with a small smile before disappearing towards her hunt.

The Alkidike continued cutting out the meat, "It truly is no bother. The fire is already going and this is a simple meal. You've traveled much farther than I today so I will do this for us." She did glance up with a teasing smile, "However, if you would like there is water nearby and this would be a good chance for you to bathe alone since I'll be working on this. Unless you would rather wait so I can join you of course~"

Karothdra waved her hand sin the air, “No no, I can bath quite quickly by myself.” Tyiva’s light teasing had not gone unnoticed of course. The Oban had never been with a woman before, she wondered if Alks could be attracted to men at all. They were in an all women society after all. Earthings still seemed to enjoy the opposite sex, but Karothdra didn’t enjoy them. Karo chuckled as she made her way over t the baths while removing clothing. She ought to have been born an Alkidike. She seemed to fit a lot better with their principals than her own family ones.

Ironic, if she did end up with an Alkidike lover.
