"Beryl was bad because she was greedy. Metallia was bad because it is a part of her. There is Chaos in this universe," Caedus began to explain, "Think of it as thought it is a byproduct of creation. Natural, but unnecessary. It is a disease, a sickness, that pollutes all who come in contact with it. Metallia was a part of this Chaos, powerful and sentient. Together, Metallia made Beryl a monster. My people had an alliance with Earth, and I was tasked to respond to her summons. But she betrayed our alliance and attacked my party and I. She sought to eradicate us, I think. We would not join her in the war against the moon."

He seemed bitter and sighed. Old wounds did not always heal; he missed his home, and he missed his friends.

"I was trapped, in a world with her monsters, her failed experiments. I do not know what transpired in my absence, but I know the universe seems to have fallen to ruin. Earth is the last great bastion known to exist, apparently? ...But I will go home. I will uncover the answers. I will find out what happened."

He sighed and lifted his golden eyes to the Knight. "It saddens me that Earth would have no contact with other worlds. Has anyone else come from space to greet you here?"

"Chaos is...sentient?" It was alive? That was like saying good was alive. Good was a thing...a sense and a way of being...not something which could live. It was a part of things and it was an idea. It was different to everyone, though there was the universal opinion on what was good and what was bad. It did change though and differ some. Chaos should be neutral...being everything - both ends of the spectrum. But it was just bad? That didn't completely make sense to him but he nodded his head accepting it, as it seemed to be true. "Should chaos be both - not bad only? Chaos be neither thing...but all over?" He asked. Even if he was willing to accept what the other said he did want to understand and make sense of it, to voice his thoughts.

"So bang...and everything and chaos too...so is universal thing - like good and bad? But here chaos is like substance...or disease...not way of being like good or bad are. Not what most would say is chaos then. So different chaos." It was the easiest way to separate it and make it work in his mind. To separate it from the chaos which meant everything and nothing and black and white. It was just how it worked in his mind best, a way to understand it and see it for the darkness that it really was.

"She is she and not just it? And she is part but not whole of chaos. Chaos is bigger then her...so kill her and more still? More that can come or no?" Could she be replaced? Would more chaos come? Was it needed? "Is this chaos needed...for balance?" As everything did need a balance...a yin and a yang...a black and white. Was this sort of chaos needed - was there a good purpose at all? It didn't sound like it though...it sounded like a cancer or something which needed removal. It was making more sense to him now, when worded like this.

"Glad you did not die...you helped...and have seen many things. Hope you see home again." He would help, he would do whatever he could to assist the other. Looking down to his pocket where the crystal resided now, a promise to help.

"They are experiments? youma? Have heard that some say once they were human...experiments in what? Can be fixed? Make a youma human again? Or something...not that? No way to save them?" He asked softly, thinking of the one he'd met who was only half youma. They wanted to change and he wished he could help. He knew Camelot wanted to help but couldn't, didn't want to risk the life of the officer turned half youma. he understood that - he really did. Life was precious, especially for people here who lived such short lives.

"When go home...and get answers - please to share them? Might help here if we are all left of life aside from your home. Maybe help to end this and life can start again away from here." Anything which could help, even if it was something small, if it could give an edge and help in some way...he would take it and bring it to others. Every little bit helped if they were alone in this war, and it seemed like they were.

"No...no others that I have heard of. Just you. People say UFO...unidentified flying object...say aliens...but no proof. Like to think so but no contact. Nothing magic, or like this." Motioning with his head to the other. he didn't have a single book on UFO's and peoples opinions and thoughts on them, on sightings. That was something to do perhaps and see if those looked like something from another planet, something the other might know of from the past, or anything. Maybe it was an attempt at contact like what he mentioned? But why not seek them out and make contact then? A false hope...a nothing. Shifting where he sat he drew his legs up and under himself, dark eyes watching the other for a moment before glancing about only to settle again on the other.

"Metallia is sentient Chaos. She is a part of an evil that breeds hatred and destruction. If there is a balance in the universe, she is an abnormality. She tips the scales. She and her kind." He shrugged. "I do not know how many are out there. I do not know what exists and what has been destroyed. I know that Chaos can be destroyed, though. And I know that it must."

There was a darkness in his voice, an insistence.

"The universe is a large place. There is so much more than just this world. But I do not know what has become of everything else. It does not bode well that there would be no contact."

He seemed unnerved and shifted positions, but shook his head. "I will find it. My people will be out there, they will know. I will return to Earth, with answers. I owe you that much. But the Negaverse must be stopped. They will consume this world, and all worlds, if they can. Such is the nature of Chaos."

So she was part of a whole...there was a bigger to it, a part that he guessed wasn't sentient. Was the whole bad or just this part of the whole? Was it the cancer which needed to be removed? It seemed like it as he listened further to the other. Could she be removed from the whole and if so how? Would it tip the balance too far? "All chaos or just her part? All would be bad for balance...too much to one side..." He sort of was asking but also sort of making a statement. But if it was just her it at least reduced the size of the enemy from some big whole thing to just a small part. Though the small part was still big and daunting.

"Many say because so big there has to be more than us - other life. Just not what sort." How intelligent was this other life, how developed, what nature it was. Humans were trying to find it, trying to communicate and sending out signals in the hopes of hearing back. They just...hadn't. It seemed hopeless and he, as a knight now, knew why. Everything else was dead. Those who once could have responded were long gone. But this person...said there was life elsewhere. The signal must not be reaching them or they'd have surely contacted them - right? Or maybe not due to Metallia, it would be smart not to really.

He knew, as many figured, that they couldn't be alone but it had always felt like it. Knowing they weren't, as he did now, was nice in a sense. The other would bring answers and help them, in time, and they could try and remove the cancer which was Metallia.

"We will owe you for the help, no matter how small, but it will be helping us win. Cannot let the bad chaos win...or let it off here to hurt more." If anywhere else had survived like Caedus' home planet they needed to keep Metallia and her brand of chaos from leaving Earth and finding it. It had to be confined here and finished here...could they do it though?

Glancing down to his pocket he could feel his own resolve strengthen. They had to - there was no other option. They needed to destroy her. The how would be figured out and the when...that would come.

Then he realized something the other had said...another question came to mind. "Consume worlds...consume here...but officers are human. need to live here and eat and all...consume...would destroy here and could not eat or live? No all planets can we live on....so what then...Metallia will kill them or...what?" Was that what the other meant? Was he thinking wrong of the others words and just thinking of it in some sort of worst case thing where Earth would become just a desolate rock with no life supported on it. "Why hasn't happened yet....Metallia more powerful than us and has not won...has not swept us away...why? Constrained...some hold back on power?" It seemed like if she was part of a whole, if she was so big, she could just wipe them out so why hadn't Metallia done so? Why not just end this fight, why had it gotten to this point? Was it a game or was there a reason why it hadn't happened...could it not be done for some reason - a weakness?

Caedus' eyes narrowed as he tried to process what Venice was saying. The language barrier was not entirely easy, but the cogs in his mind were still slowly ticking.

"When I knew Beryl, she had already surpassed a point of caution. She was driven in her goal. I do not believe anything would have stopped her. She would have sacrificed this planet, all of her officers, anything. That is what Chaos is. In small quantities, it is just a piece of the uniform. But Beryl was driven by a cluster of Chaos, I think. Influenced by it in an unnatural way. Metallia is unnatural. She is a great power, but she is not unstoppable. I do not know why she has not taken over. I can only assume that something limits her. Perhaps she is not strong enough yet. Perhaps your fighting has bought you more time. But I cannot say for certain. I did not know much of her before I was trapped. I learned nothing of her while I was trapped. You might gather more information from one of her agents. Perhaps she trusts some within her ranks with this information. But then."

Caedus contemplated.

"Perhaps she trusts none of them."

"So Beryl was bad before you met. Why? What made too bad?" What had made Beryl do what she had done? What made her work with Metallia? Had she known what would become of her and what she would do? Had she even cared? It sounded like even if she had it wouldn't have done a thing to stop her, or slow her down. What could have driven someone to that...it must have been bad and something really big.

"Some chaos then good...lots is bad - over balances good and takes over." Ok, so that made sense then. If she was stoppable, if they could stop Metallia then they would have to find out how. What weaknesses did she posses...but what would happen then? "Can remove Metallia or will be bad? Will it over balance in other direction? Or be replaced by something worse?" There were consequences for everything a person did and for something that big...what would happen, what price would be paid and could they afford it?

"Maybe not...or maybe best not to let them know...not far enough down in darkness to trust with information." Maybe Metallia realized human nature and that people were greedy and if she had a weakness and it got out that someone would try and kill her, try and take that power for themselves. Could that even happen? Could someone replace her somehow? That really didn't sound appealing...what sort of humanity would you have to give up? All of it likely.

Caedus shifted positions as he thought, trying to find the best way to sort through the questions and answer them. "Greed and selfishness, I think. Earth changes rulers so frequently. They seek war so readily. I have never understood it, myself. I do not understand humans, though."

He shrugged and moved to the next question. Beneath his hood, his brows had furrowed, as evidenced by the slightly narrowed golden eyes. This, he seemed to be struggling to explain. "Metallia...is not natural Chaos. Metallia is what is tipping the scales in the wrong direction. Removing her would be good. For this earth. For this universe. She is a destructive entity, beyond the scope of reasonable balance. I cannot imagine that removing her would leave a vacancy to be filled, rather..."

His voice drifted off and then he looked back to the sky. "I would be afraid that her presence would attract more like her."

So beryl was, at least in the most basic sense a normal person. Greed and selfishness brought her to becoming what she was now, brought her to working with Metallia...and twisted her. It was something anyone could fall to, or at least most people. Very few were immune to wants and desires and would not give in to greed and selfishness.

"Human nature...need for resources...rather than share people fight over them. Water to drink is big one - poor people charged for own water to drink to live. Resources not unlimited. Some countries have none...have to get from everyone else. People want power - own power...not work together or have one power to help all...not like we should." Human nature was hard to understand, it wasn't something he liked in some ways, so he understood the other not understanding it. His answer was only part of a much bigger answer but it was an important piece.

"So bad chaos...chaos more aligned...not neutral as should be with chaos." As he continued to listen to the other he tilted his head...that sounded ominous - really ominous.

"More chaos like her alive...around? To fill in for her...no way to fix it? In case can't be defeated? Can't fix Metallia...so nothing to be filled but isn't what it is now - is better chaos." He didn't like the sound of that - at all. There was good reason not to like the sound of it.

Caedus shrugged and rubbed at his throat, as if it were sore. He had spoken more tonight than he was accustomed to, but he persisted, if only to try and answer the rest of Venice's questions. "I do not know," he confessed. There were parts of the conversation that he was straining to understand, but he tried to answer, "I do not know all of the Chaos that lurks in the universe, but I know it would be foolish to think that Metallia was the worst evil. I have heard of rumors. Long ago, at least. Whispers of distant galaxies and dark corners of the universe. But I only saw so much for myself. Metallia is a great evil, certainly. I do not think anything can fix her. I do not think there is any point in trying."

Watching the other, suddenly realizing they may have just done a lot of talking...and the other wasn't drinking a lot. He bowed his head as the other spoke once more. The information, this bit and everything else tonight, was immense and helpful. It was a lot to take in but it would help himself, in understanding things, and perhaps it would help others.

Biting his bottom lip he nodded his head slowly. "Do not think so either. I should be going - it is late. Please, enjoy the rest of food..and what else I brought you. Will be back another time with more." Standing slowly, bowing again. "You have helped a lot - to understand better." It helped to understand things. What religious people said, what texts said, were nothing when compared to what the other had said. it wasn't as profoundly spoken or with the same manner a monk would speak. But it was as deep and possessed as much information.

Caedus found himself bowing his head instinctively in gratitude. "I will do so. Thank you. You have been very considerate, with your gifts and your company. I hope we can speak again soon. Please be safe."

He wished he had been able to say more--to know how to better communicate or answer the senshi's questions.

But, it was a start--and Caedus had a fondness in his heart already. Distanced from his homeworld and company, Venice had given him the company he craved--and he absolutely wouldn't be complaining about the food any time soon.

"Of course, have helped us a lot - it is time to help in return." Since the other would be here how much longer, not to mention how bored Caedus must be here in woods. He would return in time, with food and books again.

"Will be safe, be safe as well - please." The other had helped them so much. It would be terrible if he died, or was injured, as he had done much for them in this war. His information, either already imparted or yet to be, could help them in winning this war.

Once he left the area he headed himself to the car he had parked and headed back home. Crystal hidden in a pocket and now powered down. He was glad he'd decided to visit Caedus - very glad.
