Kicking his legs until he was set down, Koril laughed. "Eat in the water!" he yelped, bolting for the gentle waves lapping at the shore. He shrieked with delight as he ran into the water, going in until it splashed around his thighs while he darted around.

Beaming Shadiya returned the kiss before glancing around, "I suppose we can do either." Though as her son dashed towards the ocean the woman laughed, "Or that works as well. Let's let them burn out some energy while I set up. The shade will be good for them by then." She rubbed Dexurn's back with her hand as she passed him and then kneeling in the shade began to set up the picnic...

Squishing against her father happily, Kyril laughed as her brother escaped towards the ocean. "Oh, me too!" She squeaked as she hugged her papa one last time and wiggled free.
"Kori wait for meeeeeeeee~!" Running the girl jumped into the water with a splash after her brother.

Dex chuckled lightly at the antics of the children, beaming with pride. Seeing his children so active and alive... "Yes. They'll need the shade by then," he agreed. He followed his wife and dropped his shield near the basket.
With a small smirk, he stepped close to wrap his arms around Shadiya's waist and pulled her in for a more thorough kiss than the first one. "You look beautiful today," he praised lightly. Shade was always beautiful in his eyes. "I need you to go tell my boss that I need to stay home with all of you tonight~" he said playfully. If only it were that easy.

Koril looked back at his sister with a big smile. "Keep up!" he shouted playfully. Moving until the water was below his knees so that he could run faster, he reached down and pulled up a large shell. His eyes widened and he turned to show it off. "Kyril! Lookie! Somethin's still in it!"

Her cheeks flushed from both the compliment and kiss the woman just smiled towards her husband. But then after laughing at his comment Shadiya squeezed her arms tightly around Dexurn's waist, "I can totally demand for that, right?" She grinned before leaning her head on his shoulders with a small sigh, "At least we can do this."
Glancing over towards her children, Shadiya smiled. "Seems like they truly are enjoying today as well."

"I am!" Grinning Kyril scooped up an armful of water to splash her brother with before his comment caught her attention, "Wa-what?" Her gaze widened as well as she dropped the water and took big steps towards her brothers, "Are you...you sure?" She pursed her lips before sticking a finger out towards the shell...

Dex laughed and sighed contently, thoroughly enjoying cuddling with his wife during the day like this. "If only. You could try, but they'd probably bring the work to the house!" He reached to snag a bite of the meal, eyes drifting over to the children warmly. "When don't those two enjoy themselves?"

Koril held the big spiral shell up and pointed at where the entrance was. "Look!" Where an empty shell would simply have space, this one had a slimy looking plug in the way. A small blue finger poked at the mass, shrieking with surprise and delight when a slimy tentacle reached out in response.

Shadiya pursed her lips in protest, "I guess then at least you would be closer." She commented lightly, "Though I doubt the babies would let you get away with too much." The woman leaned against her lover as she watched her children playing on the sands, "True." They at least always seemed to enjoy themselves and were constantly carefree.
At times it made her jealous. If only she could be like that. Shadiya closed her eyes briefly before leaning back against the ground, "Aaaah." Stretching out her arms behind her head Shadiya glanced up at the skies above, "It's truly beautiful out today..."

"Ooooh." Kyril's gaze widened into twin suns as she glanced at the shell, "Eeew!" Her nose crinkled up as the slimy thing actually moved, "Koril, what if it's dangerous?" She squeaked before taking a few steps back. Reaching around her feet the girl found a small piece of driftwood and held it out defensively, "It's a monsta!"
Who could ignore the cries of a child? Further along the beach a few strangers walked in the shadows. It was obvious that the children were of mixed blood and something about the one's crimson hair and the other's gemstones seemed proof enough of a certain blood relation....the only question was how much longer would they observe before actually acting against this family?

Dex let his arm slip around Shade's shoulders as she leaned in, smiling quite contently. It felt like a real life, sitting on the beach with his wife while the children played in the water. "That sounds about right. They'd be far too distracting for me to work." Smirking playfully, he turned his head to nuzzle Shade's cheek. "So would you~"

Koril shrieked with delight at his sister's reaction, and he held the shell close to his chest with a smile. "Not a monsta, Kyril!" That was when one sticky tentacle reached out to grab his arm, and another stuck out to his side. After a moment of hesitation and a cautious tug, he let out another delighted sound. "Aww! It's huggin' me!"
When another creature poked its head above the water, Koril was delighted! This was was bright yellow and white! So pretty! "Look, Kyril!" He didn't have long to admire the creature though. Before he could react, the brightly colored creature slipped up next to him, grabbed one of the slimy tentacles, and yanked. The creature in the shell sucked right off from the blue skin. Koril looked at the furry creature before he burst into tears. His friend had just been eaten!
The creature blinked at the crying boy, and reached up to nuzzle a flushed cheek.
Of course, Koril blinked with surprise before giving a shriek of delight. A new friend!
Watching the children closely, and trying to get a better view of the couple sitting together, one of the strangers held his arm out when the little boy's cries filled the air. That was too much attention for now. But now they knew...
