He came over and nudged her affectionately, like a large dog, before plopping down next to her to watch the waves. "I haven't had fun like that ever." "I want you to know Trel, that your friendship, means so much to me, I've never met someone like you, and I don't think I will again." She was just so vibrant and sweet and she also had a dark past. It was like he had been meant to find her here. The wind ruffled his hair and he breathed deeply of the brine. He was meant to be here, on this beach with her. No matter what his confused genetics said, they did not define him, he was a matorian at heart.

Trelenwy beamed up at Theriar, showing him a whole mouthful of teeth. She had never played tag before, so maybe she had never had fun like that before either! Fishing was fun. Cooking was fun. Games, though, were a very different kind of fun that she had never really enjoyed in her childhood.
"I've never met someone like you either," she admitted, and on a whim leaned to the side against Theriar's arm. In a moment her arm was looped around his front, resting on his opposite hip.

Naturally he tilted his head down to lean against hers as they both watched the sea. He had never felt contentment like this, he felt whole and happy and at peace with everything for the first time in his life. He didn't feel hunted or in danger or needing to protect or be protected from scary dangers. He could just be, here in her arms, he breathed in the wonder and sighed. Not only was he comfortable in his own skin, he was comfortable with another being so close, something that previously he could only do with his mother, and even that had an old edge to it. Here with Trelly there was no tramatic past that could touch him, she blasted all the bad memories away with nothing but light and hope and a great deal of laughter.

For a little while, Trelenwy simply sat there beside Theriar. Then she turned to look at him, her head tilting up. He was a handsome man. His features were sharp and strong, but held the gentleness that she knew existed in his soul.
She watched him a bit. Her head tilted. Then she went up on her knees, took Theirar by either cheek, and pulled him into a kiss.
She wasn't sure what it meant, really, but it had felt right. She had never kissed anyone before in the same way that she had never met someone she felt like this for. It made perfect sense to her. She broke the kiss adn paused, just waiting to see how Theriar would react.

Theriar slowly turned a vibrant shade of purple but was careful not to move as Trel kissed him out of the blue, a part of him deep down perhaps had seen it coming..maybe, but that part had also thought he would have to make the first move, and had been reluctant to scare her. The rest of him was still in shock, it took a while during which his eyes turned a darker shade of yellow but once he had collected some of his scattered thoughts, he held her eyes with his and leaned in to give her the same gift she had given him. He was trusting her with his everything. A heart that no one else had ever seen, but he was willing to take a chance with her. He leaned back too, blinking slowly at her then smiled. He couldn't find words anymore for what he felt in that moment.

Trelenwy accepted the second kiss just as easily as she had given the first. Her hand rose and gently pressed against his cheek as they kissed, and then when it broke she sat back as a slow smile crept over her face. She still wasn't sure exactly what this meant, but she rather liked it.

Theriar reached out and curled a piece of her lovely hair around a finger, he wondered if speaking would break the magic spell that seemed to surround them at this moment. Then deciding it wouldn't he spoke quietly, reverently. "Well, hello you." He couldn't control his own smile with her looking at him like that. Using his tentative hold, he tugged her closer and lay back, now looking at the sky, the hand not occupied with her hair snaking gently around her slim body to snug her close to his side, always gentle enough that she could break either hold easily. His Trelly, his best friend, potentially something more?

Trelenwy smiled and finally felt a rush from what she had done. She lifted her slender fingers and giggled behind them. A violet blush crept across her cheeks. In just a moment he was falling back with her in an army and Trelenwy, who didn't even like it when a customer accidentally touched her hand, felt herself falling back with him. There was no panic. She simply reached her arm over his broad chest and rested her cheek on his shoulder. She squeezed him close and peered up at the stars.
She didn't care what it meant. She liked it.

He was quite content there, happy to stay like this forever, if the dawn saw them sleeping on the sand so be it, he just hoped the sea critters didn't come up and eat them, that might ruin the moment. He smiled. He was started at how absolutely wonderful it felt to have her so close to him, gentle but firm, her arm spanned his chest and her hand curled sweetly over the other side. She belonged there, her head fit perfectly into his shoulder and he never ever wanted to move.

They were allowed quite some time to lay together in the sand. At least to Trelenwy it seemed like a beautiful eternity. When a polite throat-clear echoed in her ears, though, her smile retreated and she sat up quickly. One of the builders had come to ask them something or other. She offered Theriar one apologetic smile and then stood.
"Moment, please," she said as she waited for Theriar to stand. Then she gestured for him to go ahead. It was his house, not hers.

Theriar felt bereft, then tried not to glare too hard at the innocent builder who had ruined his beach party. He failed, and practically stalked the poor man back to the building, once in a while peeking back over his shoulder and making silly faces at Trelly.
