Callum to towards the barking noise, as did Faulina, though the noise was nothing new to her. Since moving up north she had been forced to live with not one, but two raptrix, so while the beasts profoundly annoyed his sweet girl they no longer spooked her. He, however, was startled enough to lose track of the creature and might not have noticed it moving off if Faulina didn't lower her altitude enough to track it. Not that it was helping much; the lower she came to the ground the more loose snow her wings stirred up, effectively cutting off his line of sight.
He nudged Faulina once more, and she pulled up, but not before Callum slid off her back into the snow. Without any distractions he was able to sidle up next to Naeght and Akiyal, taking in the strange appearance of the long creature.
"It fits the description," He mused aloud. Callum edged closer through the snow while simultaneously unsheathing his blade. Instead of turning the blade towards it, however, he turned the sword around and used the hilt to poke it. All he succeeded in doing was to piss it off, and the thing hissed at first before snapping at his sword.
"....I'm not touching it."

"'Fits the description.'" Aki repeated, squinting at the slinky serpent as it slithered across a rock and away from Callum's prodding. Naeght was too easily able to keep pace with it, with little more than a slow amble. "What does? That thing?" Aki scoffed, leaning over his raptrix's head to point down at the clearly insignificant creature they'd come chasing. It didn't look as though it could scare much of anything, and a reptile in the cold wouldn't last long.
Akiyal didn't know a great deal about animals, but this one was already moving so slowly and silently... That rock was probably like ice on its body, with snow drifting around everywhere, worse from his and Cal's beasts stirring it up. It wouldn't make it out here. The thing was probably half dead, already.
Why had they come chasing it?
"Hey, Callum." Akiyal tipped his head toward the older man at Naeght's side. "This was your idea, wasn't it?" He prompted. "You wanted to track this thing out here, said there'd be glory involved in catching it." he squinted down at the brown squiggle, and Aki's face scrunched up in a particularly distasteful brand of dissatisfaction. "But there ain't no glory in this. trying to show off a dead little tube to anyone would just get ya laughed at. Hey, you kinda wasted my time with this, y'know?"
He raked a hand back through his messy blond hair, clucked his tongue, and looked toward the sky. Then his crystal gaze was back on Callum, and his teeth flashed in a crooked grin. "We'll just say you owe me one for dragging me all the way out here for this. I wont take no for an answer."
