Soothe hadn't really expected to be approached - but the greeting did get her to smile regardless. This doe looked - well, dark, but she seemed kind enough, at least. "Ah - hello there! Happy festivities to you, too." Her eyes widened at the little pink blossom. It matched the ones already braided into the doe's hair. Had that been intentional. "T-thank you," she said, a little uncertain. Was there some trick to this? "It's blushing," she marveled, and tried to tuck it it into her fur. She wasn't really sure whether she was succeeding.
Oh - she was supposed to greet the doe in kind, right? A gift - well, she could share what she'd been snacking on. And she'd been about to do so, when an orange buck came up to the pair of them. An orange snake slithered into the green doe's hair - and then thumped out. Soothe, personally, would've loved to meet a snake companion - but she could sympathize with Bitter Apple's surprise, and with the snake, which had been dropped carelessly to the ground. Soothe stood up, and checked over the snake with some worry. Surprisingly, it seemed to be doing fine. Still..."Why would you do that?" she asked the buck, eyes wide. And yet the green doe offered him a gift in return anyway.
"Here," said Soothe to Bitter Apple. She'd been snacking on some smoked fish, and she pushed the leaf full of food towards her fellow doe. "I'm Soothe. Do you eat meat? It's really good!" It wasn't like Soothe had anything nice for Bitter Apple's hair, after all - but she could tell that the green doe was the fastidious sort. She had to be, to keep a mane and a tail that long!
Just then, a bright blue and black acha buck came darting up to them. He was offering a gift, though. "You can have some, too," she decided, smiling at him.

Bitter Apple was taken aback by the sudden appearance and kindness of this new buck, especially after the last little trick she'd encountered. She smiled brightly at him and watched in awe as the color smeared across the ground. These would be terribly useful if she had a home. The gift was wonderful nonetheless, and she bowed in appreciation. "Oh, thank you so much! They're all so pretty I'd feel kind of bad to grind them up, but they'll be of excellent use, I'm sure!" Although there was one rotten apple in the bunch, the other two she'd encountered seemed so... Nice. In reality, she was mimicking their kindness, not entirely sure of how to develop her own.
She turned her attention back to the doe, and watched her struggling to place the flower in her short fur when she got an idea. "How about we try this?" She plucked another flower from her tail, this time less reluctantly, and nibbled at the end of the stem to shorten it. Then, ever-so-gently, she tucked the bloom up by the doe's horn, fastening it between the hairs as well as she could with her mouth. Had she been attempting this on her own, her swan would have plucked the bloom away and eaten it by now, but Bloom seemed otherwise occupied. "I think it accentuates your eyes quite nicely." She beamed, feeling rather good about her act of kindness. Perhaps this is why more had chosen to give to each other than to play tricks.
Her glowing green eyes took in the appearance of the fish, and her nostrils the smell. It didn't look very appetizing when compared to apples and berries and the other decadent foods she had grown used to, but it would be awfully rude to refuse her now, wouldn't it? "I'm Bitter Apple. And I've honestly never tried meat." She examined it again before nibbling at a piece. "This is actually... Really nice." She was surprised how the salty taste of the fish could make her mouth water like it did, but it was a pleasant new sensation.

Solemnly watched as his friend dropped. A small chuckle escaped, not at the doe, but at the snake. "Oh thank you for that, Joke." At least it wasn't just one who watched it happen. The green and black doe seemed a bit amused after it had happened. "He will be fine, as it hasn't been his first time falling like that." The orange buck eyed the swan as it came up to the doe. He was certain that she was going to pay them back. Before he could look back towards her, she was walking off.
The snake had no such qualms. Joke slithered to the kimeti doe who checked on him, and wrapped around her hoof as a thank you. Slithering back, he went to the apple and watched as the buck went to eat it. Solemn looked at the grey doe, "If he didn't want to do it...Joke would have stayed on my back, taking the easy way to get where we are going." He shrugged and bent down to eat the apple that was gifted to him.
If snakes can laugh, Joke was laughing at the buck. He could feel the vibrations of the worms and wasn't about to go for it quite yet. Solemn took a bite, his face got a puckered look, eyes closed as trying to swallow the worms. After a few seconds of holding that...apple, it finally went down, barely. With a giant smile, he called out to the retreating form of the doe, "Good one!"

"thank you so much for the feather. I think you're right. I'll have to find someone to fashion it to my mane later." He said tucking it into a safe place. His gaze flicked towards the black and green doe that had joined the festivities and the buck that had decided to give her a bit of a scare with his companion. It was harmless and since she wasn't hurt in the ordeal he figured it would be alright in the end.
His gaze shifted towards the swan that was with Bitter Apple and he wondered if he would get himself a pet one day. It would be nice to not be a lone all the time, not that he was ALWAYS alone, there were just times when he wished he had someone else to talk to about things, even if they didn't have anything to say in return. It was nice to just talk sometimes. Turning his gaze back towards Solemnly as he was paid back for his earlier trick. "IF you'd like I have one last banana left. You can have it to help get the taste out of your mouth." He offered grimacing slightly at the thought of having eaten a worm.
Lonely had been watching the festivities from afar, having gone through circular arguments on whether or not he should participate.
In the end, he decided to cautiously offer some berries to the buck. "Hello, pardon the intrusion, if you need more fruits, I have some here~"

Solemnly looked over at the buck. "That would be greatly appreciated. Bad apples are not always the tastiest of treats." The banana was a nice replacement to the apple. "Thank you so much."
As he was eating an acha buck came up. While the kimeti loved playing tricks on others, it just wasn't the same without his buddy. He didn't know what to offer this other buck and seemed stuck. Thankfully, Joke saved him. Somehow the snake brought over a few multicolored feathers. "I know you can't fully use them yourself, maybe? Anyways, here are some feathers for you."

The crowd around the campfire seemed to grow as the night wore on, the dark, surprisingly, bringing more and more kin out beneath the stars. Hush had no idea so many kin could be found once the sun had set. But then, she supposed, it wasn't every night that an event such as this one took place. At least the atmosphere was pleasant, and the bright flames from the large fire kept any Autumn chill at bay (along with her fluffy tail).
As the buck from earlier continued to hand out tasty bananas, and others gave other gifts to one another, Hush watched them all quietly with a small smile.
When an orange buck entered the scene she watched him playing a prank on another doe and couldn't help but chuckle softly when it didn't seem to go quite as planned. Or, rather, when he got his very just desserts.
She stepped a bit closer to the group, smiling a little shyly as her heart gave a nervous thump. She wasn't usually the sort to initiate things, and it helped that they had mostly seemed kind. "I found a few ripe berries over there near the edge of the fire and thought I'd share. You're all welcome to them," she lays them down, wrapped in a large leaf, and her smile widens a bit toward the orange buck. "I promise they're not rotten."

Oh ho. Ode beamed at the kiokote - although it didn't seem like he was taking to the bribe. Oh, well - no great loss, right? The feather would match him much better than it'd match Ode.
But he wasn't the only red kin here. And the Zikwa doe was...hey! She was moving away too! He followed closely, but tried not to look too, uh - too desperate. Not that Ode ever looked desperate. She was setting down a giant leaf filled with things...ahh, could he have in on that too? He tossed a wink her way yet again. "Forgetting all about me already?" He produced another deep red feather - probably from the same bird he'd killed for the other one. "This would look just darling with your markings." He proffered it toward her, beaming.
Sorrel didn't give the crowd too much thought, not having anyone in specific to give her little trick too. So she picked the first Acha she ran into, a handsome dusk and gold buck. Smiling at him, she offers the mushroom she'd brought from her garden. Carefully tended, she'd grown it for herself, but the festivities seemed more appropriate to share. She does know it won't cause harm, it's not the most potent in her stock, so feels confident her little trick won't actually hurt him. "It's very tasty, have a try."
Hush smiled at the acha buck, the glowing spots on her face flashing a bit brighter at the compliment.
'Oh, thank you very much. You're more than welcome to share the berries...I did get them for everyone." Her smile is shy and sweet and she takes the feather carefully, tucking it in her tail for now. "I'll have to find a way to fasten it later."

She turns to the new kimeti doe, then, smiling as she passes a curiously familiar looking mushroom to the acha. She could swear she's seen her niece, Poppymilk, using some of the same in the past and is reasonably sure it's safe.
"You're welcome to the berries as well. Assuming there's any left of course...." There's already quite a few kin around, after all.
Half Truth and Changes quietly approached a small gathering of kin. The duo were in the mood for mischief and fun, and they’d brought all sorts of goodies with them. Or baddies, as the case might be. When they arrived, the gathering at the bonfire looked more like some sort of gift exchange. Half Truth rolled her eyes. Where were the pranks? Where was the merriment? The one time of year it was socially acceptable to jape and engage in shenanigans without being called a bad influence, and these kin were treating it like some sort of courting ritual!
Her eyes darted around as she looked for an opening. Signaling to the blue acha who’d worked his way into the circle across from where she was skulking, she waited until her mark looked good and distracted. Quickly, she snuck an overripe fruit behind the hoof of a dark zikwa doe with an extremely long, fluffy, and clearly complicated to groom tail. She seemed sweet and pretty- the perfect target for this particular prank. The swollen fruit reeked of rot’s sweetness, and was ready to simply burst. One movement and she’d step on it! Half Truth backed away just as quickly and quietly as she’d sped in, waiting for the inevitable squelching noise.

Hush was busily engaged with the other kin giving gifts and chatting, and so she didn't notice as the rotten piece of fruit was laid in her path behind her. When the conversation becomes too animated, however, she decides to quietly take her leave for a breather on the outer edges of the gathering -- only to step right into the smelly fruit.
She jumps a little, to the side, but her left back foot is covered in slimy, rotten, goo, and the Zikwa doe makes a disgusted sound as she twitches her hoof in a vain effort to dislodge it.
"Gross!" She frowns, and then looks about for who could have been behind the trick, but doesn't seem to find anyone in the immediate vicinity. Oh well. She had, after all, been warned that there would likely be a few pranksters out tonight.
Lies arrives somewhat fashionably late. Autumn is his favorite time of year -- the time of change, when summer fades along with the sun. It's beautiful and mysterious. Tonight is no different. If anything, the social rules for this particular gathering are relaxed enough to allow him a bit of free reign with his own inner desires for mischief. Not that he'll truly hurt anyone, tonight, but putting a bit of fright into someone might not be so bad.
He smirks faintly to himself and strides through the gathering, winking at a handsome Acha buck along the way.
A green doe with an interesting coat pattern, and marvelous horns, captures his attention in the end, however. It looks as though she's just finished playing a trick of her own, and though he can't help but find it somewhat amusing, if a bit amateur, it doesn't deter him from choosing her as his next.... victim.
A ways back, he'd gathered some spider webs (replete with live spiders -- not poisonous, of course). Lies is used to being stealthy, to slipping between shadows, and he uses these skills to slide up behind the doe before depositing the crawling mess into her horns and mane.
"Happy Festival," he says smoothly, and then chuckles a little as he steps away, finally revealing himself. "Your horns looked like they could use a bit of adornment."

Half Truth's quiet victory chortles were stifled by the feel of tiny legs all over her head. She let out something between a yelp and a shriek as she jolted. Spiders cascaded from her mane, which was partially ensnared by webbing. She reared up a bit as they dropped down, scurrying over her hocks and hooves into the darkness of the underbrush. As she realized what had happened, she started laughing again. "You got me good! That was a good one. Happy festival to you, too!" she said, bells in her chuckle. She was more than willing to get as good as she gave. "I always did say that spider silk was like motes in the moonlight- pretty, no? And the silvery strands do go so well with my golds." She tossed her head, watching some of the sticky strands float away. "The name's Half Truth, stranger. Glad you could make it! Why don't you have a bite to eat?" She nosed a slab of bark with some berries in his direction. They looked innocent enough- and for the most part they were. But in the rather nice melange of currants and rosehips, she'd slipped in one extremely sour crabapple- enough to pucker the toughest of mouths.

After a short break having a lovely chat with Bitter Apple, Jester scampers off into the wild again looking for more kin to gift. He began to feel a little naughty this go. Most of the bananas has been idly nommed on until theere were very few left, anyway. He puckered a lip, and eyeballed the group, trying to pick a target, before he realized there were quiet a few already starting to poke at each other. Some mischief sounded like fun about now.
He had no pets, yet as far as he was concerned, and he double checked the woods for something that could be used as a trick. He noted one of the bananas at the bottom of his small basket had begun to attract some ants with the sugary honey smeared on them, and given there weren't very many left and he couldn't eat them now, he decided to make some use. He bit back the grin, and set the basket down near the lovely green and gold doe, smiling warmly as he did so. "Hello there! I still have some honeyed banana's left, and it's about the last of the batch. You can have them if you like!" He kept his voice smooth and sweet, and then bounded back, nimbly. "Let me know if you want any more, I could possibly go home quick, and whip up another bunch," he added from a few feet away. He could feel the laugh starting to crack his cheeks, and he couldn't help but glance backward to maybe catch a glimpse. Gotta move, move, move, move, he thought, smirking all the while to himself.
