Shun gave a sort of noncommital grunt initially, "Not much. She said that her death would buy us some time due to the amount of magic she would be releasing. We should not see any immediate effects of the cage breaking as a result. The Enemy will soon be able to try and do whatever he was planning with the magic, which will cause stagnation. Death."He thought back to Heliodora's words. It hadn't really been much of a heads up of what lied ahead of them besides 'bad things are going to happen if you don't do something'. "Yes. She said that if we think we cannot beat the enemy... she has her notes on the sealing spell in the library. Adoelle's notes are somewhere in the Court. We should recover these for the sake of a contingency, but I would really prefer to avoid resorting to that plan as much as possible."

"I think it's important we collect those," Anything written down would be valuable, even if they don't use it. "I may have the capacity to record the spell for posterity.." And with questionable decisions being made all around, and everyone else's behavior very much out of their control, who knew what could happen. "A lot of people are deeply involved, getting into dangerous things. For all we know someone could be working against us. It's important we are prepared for the worst."

"Agreed. If nothing else, we should claim them before our enemies have a chance to destroy the notes," Shun nodded. If he were in Renard's shoes... that's what he'd try to do, personally. "But you are correct. Even those who are not working directly for the enemy may work against us. To them, we are also the villains for the things we may have to do or have done to get through this."The things Jeremiah said about this town... if they really needed to find a way to destroy Ashdown in order to defeat the enemy, there was bound to be opposition. "Between you and Jeremiah, I take it you two should be able to recover Adoelle's half of the notes."He paused as he recalled one more thing. With a bit of hesitation, he pulled a pendant out from under his shirt. It bore the mark of the seal; the sword, crown, and stars. "This also appeared in my room the day it happened."

"Yes we have access to the court.." Alg was still not quite sure the extent of the new 'positions' they had taken up. Each with a fetch and a 'seat'. What it all truly meant for them.. "The library may be tricky though. It only let's those in who need it. I've been there but other times have been denied. Still- I will try. Perhaps our need is great enough that we can get in again." Not that Alg would mind another look in the library. Books books books.Shun's pendant had him leaning forward, glasses adjusted, "The sword, the grown and the stars..." He spoke softly, "Does it... do anything?" He assumed it must. Magically appearing trinkets generally had some purpose.

Shun stil had not had a chance to delve into the library just yet. It was something he was going to need to attempt soon. He had heard it is finicky about when it let people in, but as Algernon said, maybe their cause would be enough. "Perhaps we can go soon."He tucked the pendant back into his shirt for now, then said, "So far, I found it allows me to cross over to the other side at will, more or less. Not so much for the other way around. But I can get there with more ease, now."It was just coming back to this side that was a bit of a pain, still. 977

"That's handy. I still can't find entrances on my own... I have to ask Jeremiah or simply be a victim of circumstance." But he could get home. That was probably more handy in his opinion. He wouldn't be stuck there for days looking for exits. His mind drifted to Heliodora again, what all of those kids must have gone through so many cycles. He was glad she was rested now but it panged something in him. He'd always felt close to them somehow, from viewing their memories, and speaking with Heliodora herself.. It was sad as much as it was necessary. "Thank you for doing what needed to be done," He finally said, voice low.

"Handy, yes. I just need a reliable way to come back to this side now."It got a little annoying at times, trying to find entrances and exits. Sometimes, he got lucky, other times it felt like he was wasting a lot of time with wandering about. So far, the fact that time did not run on a one-to-one basis with regular Ashdown has not bitten him in the a**. Thankfully. "If only everyone can share that view, Algernon," he stated softly. Zac, for one, would probably only see him as a murderer for what he had done. There were others who would probably feel that way as well. He had no plans on informing more than he needed as to how she died exactly. That was just human nature at work, he supposed. Not everyone could make these sort of choices. And that was probably a good thing. Just as long as they don't end up hindering them in the long run. 1140

"Not everyone has common sense. Nor think outside of themselves..." Alg folded his hands in front of him. He had, admittedly, been emotional with Shun in the past over Heliodora. In retrospect it felt a bit foolish, after all they'd been through, but he still didn't regret it or think she had been any less meaningful. He'd just grown to see more of the true nature of this place and how things worked. "Either way, what's done is done." He sighed, "So we can only now wait and see. Thank you for coming to talk."

What was done was indeed done. With hope and a bit of luck, Heliodora's sacrifice would not be wasted. "Of course, Algernon. If you need anything in the future, you know how to contact me."He had his number now, and if worse comes to worse, he could probably just have Jeremiah reach out. Shun wasn't too hard to get a hold of most of the time. 1207

"Of course," Alg nodded and sat back a bit. "And we'll stay up to date on seeking the bits of the spell hopefully," Because that intrigued him and between Shun and Jeremiah, he was sure taking the offensive would be adequately covered. This would be a defensive precaution and he had the means to record spells now. "See you."
