"Oh, um, I'm Tortuga and sorry about being late. I was just getting off shift when I felt the call. Needed to get far enough away to answer it safely." Tortuga shrugged apologetically as he introduced himself to the knight in purple (Scholomance). He joined the others to collect the upgrade, nodding in greeting to Venice, once he got closer offering a complement to the knight, "I can barely program my DVR so I think you've got plenty of technical expertise."
With care he took one each of both Scholomance's upgrade as well as Minstral's, remembering the meeting where that upgrade was briefly touched on. He studied the little bits and couldn't help but be more in awe of the shear technology and skill it took to make them then of his current surroundings. He really wasn't one who was very tech savy, no way he could make something like this. A brief frown furrowed his brow as he considered more angles to this new upgrade. "If anyone can read the display does that mean that anyone can 'activate' it? Like could you bring up my readouts? If I had my ring that is."
If that was the case then it would be a double edged sword since the information could be brought up by someone who could use it to help an injured companion who wasn't responsive or it could be used by a negaverser. Although that second half wasn't very likely since they would have to get seriously close to do that.
Tortuga was pulled from his contemplation when another knight asked about stress levels(Erytheia), a smile flashing across his face. "If it doesn't you could always set up meters of heart rate and blood pressure, as well as hormone levels like adrenaline and cortisol as well as others, since spikes in all of them are signs of your body's 'flight or fight' response." The tall redhead smiled, before adding, "granted a meter for just stress would make life easier." He knew about the stuff but knew that for others who didn't, one readout that contained that information would be easier to deal with. Especially if one was trying to check it while in a hurry.
Glancing around at the small crowd he realized that he might have just overstepped his bounds. After all he was just a noob who didn't even have his ring. "Sorry, EMT. Kinda my thing." Again he shrugged, coming off a bit detached considering his earlier informational outburst, before focusing back on the purple knight, "If you don't mind I'll grab two more for my friends. I know Shang will appreciate this too."

The fact someone knew her that well was a surprise - was new. Most people didn't see this side of her, didn't know how to read her. She didn't typically let on but she had let Hyperborea in and let the girl get to know her. Now as she felt the girls hand on her shoulder she managed to give her a tight smile.
"Perhaps but that many? The odds are against everyone having something so important going on." After seeing how many knights had turned up to the last call, and to other calls, and how many were here now. Even as she thought that two more turned up - a page and a knight. Neither she knew but she had seen the knight before.
Keeping to Hyperborea's side the squire of Polaris nodded to the other. "I was thinking that as well. At least they should get the upgrades, they'll be helpful." Even if they weren't here, something she was still displeased with. The turn out was poor...and it was unacceptable in her opinion. She kept it to herself though she knew Hyperborea was aware of her anger and thoughts on the matter.
"Dinner when we return? Some late night food - my treat?" She asked looking to the other. It would take her mind off things and allow them to perhaps discuss the new upgrade, and anything else.

Looking to Tortuga, listening to him, Venice reached out and grabbed the others sleeve. "Better with DVR likely. I can help program for you." He offered with a hint of a smile. He was more than willing to help the other knight with programming the new upgrade. He'd helped with the beta testing so had a better idea on how to do things than the other did surely, and he was more than willing to help. "Can help you once we return to the city." Hopefully when he returned he'd have several extra upgrades on hand that he could pass out to his brigade, since no one else was here.
Looking from the Page of the Cosmos, whom he knew and then back to Tortuga. "Like this upgrade I'm sure." He said, teasing the other a bit. He was sure the red haired page liked this upgrade. Then a thought hit him and he turned to Scholomance. "Didn't ask...can..if knight is in distress and can't send out help call...can it send out call to nearest other with upgrade? Say for heart attack...or panic attack." He said this while looking to Tortuga and wondering wondering if he should let someone else know about his big weakness...in case it ever happened it was best to have another know - right?
Deciding it was the best idea he tugged on the others sleeve. "Talk in few minuets...before leaving here." He said quickly before his attention was on Erytheia. "Good to see you again. Doing well?"

To Venice, he answered, „Bandwidth is the closest term I could think of for the magic allotted to you by your wonder. I’m certain most of us are aware by now that our usable magic is finite - that is, in using our powers, we exhaust them after a time - but we can stay powered up beyond that. We’re still using our wonder’s magic. So, since I’ve not noticed any slowdowns with the latest fixes and it doesn’t seem to impact my magic, I imagine you could run meters into infinity without really exhausting the meter’s abilities. You’re aware we can send messages in uniform and out, which I imagine is also tied to our wonder’s magic, so I expect this meter upgrade is powered by that same entity. Does that make sense? It certainly sounded clearer in my own head.“ He offered Venice a nod as he obtained another upgrade.
„To anyone who wants to take one for a friend, feel free. I made more than enough for our gathering here. The more you can get out to other knights, the better.“
It felt strange, however, to receive thanks for a device not yet tested by the wide audience. He supposed the greater portion of it was simple gratitude for the feat itself, but he wondered exactly how useful the device proved at length. Each new piece of technology sported its own cost, and his upgrade’s was quite low. Would it surprise him so to find that its benefit neared the same?
Another Cosmos knight, one who lingered beyond the scope of his peripherals, asked a question of him. To Erytheia, he responded, „If you can identify the feeling of stress within your own body and put word to it, then this upgrade will be able to monitor it, yes. You could also do as our EMT said and identify cortisol, blood pressure and whatnot as the variables and simply title the collective meter as ‚stress‘. Oh, and that reminds me - if it gathers enough data on one particular function of the body, it can produce a graph for you over time and identify high points in your data range. It’s not exactly space-age technology, ha, but it’s got the usual mean-median-mode, standard deviation, chi-squared… Your usual ‚intro to statistics‘ stuff.“
When Hvergelmir arrived, he could not help but mourn an opportunity missed. If only she was one to answer calls compulsively and without pause… „Hvergelmir,“ he greeted, „you’re dripping. But, ah, yes, I’ve worked it out. Or most of it. We’ll see - but it shouldn’t be pinging your CO levels like a dying smoke detector anymore.“ He offered the satchel out to her for her perusal.
To Hyperborea, he smiled wryly beneath his mask. „Don’t thank me just yet. ‚The ends justifies the means‘ applies just as well to think like this. If it doesn’t prove useful, then the effort spent was effort wasted. Wartimes afford no pause for accolades.“
Tortuga, as Scholomance now knew him, asked a prudent question, and Scholomance excused himself from Hyperborea soon after. „That’s a very good question. I’ve not been able to pull my tricky connections of late, what with the Negaverse’s feathers in a ruffle, but I doubt they could bring up your display. Since it’s just an addition to your ring, it shouldn’t be any different than if someone else tried to write a message using your signet ring, so unless the Negaverse has the power to use our signet rings then your meters will be safe from their prying eyes.
„The information isn’t able to be broadcast to other knights, I’m afraid. I never quite figured out how to get that working properly… Funny story, it just turned the projection hot pink.“ He shrugged, abashed about his relative dabbling in this whole invention idea.
Quote:
tl;dr since this post got long: - anyone can take an upgrade for people who aren't present! - meters cannot be broadcast in help calls. - meter access is the same as signet ring access - only those who can write messages with the signet ring can call up the meters on said ring! so, afaik, only the knight who owns the signet ring can pull up the meters.

Understanding he nodded his head. His understanding of English was, thankfully, getting better so he understood the knights explanation. it was certainly interesting and not something he'd thought about. Now however it was on his mind and he was wondering about it, wondering if it could be put to use in other ways. He'd think about it further at another time, he was a child raised on technology so he would certainly think about this more.
The idea that the ring wouldn't send out a signal if someone with the upgrade was in distress did bother him a bit, his dark eyes finding Tortuga again as he hoped the other understood they needed to talk. Tortuga and Shangri La would be the only two knights other than Erebus who knew if something happened and the other two could do something about it, Erebus was a bit more limited in what he could do.
Biting his lip he slowly nodded and turned back to Scholomance as he mentioned the projection turning hot pink - and laughed. "Some might like that...pink projection." He did wonder how that had happened but didn't ask. Maybe that would be another upgrade down the line - distress calls if the knight couldn't make them. If took weak a distress signal being sent out for them, based on what the meter said...blood loss or something else.
With permission to grab more of the new upgrades he moved in to do just that. Thinking of each member of his brigade he took an upgrade. He would have enough for each person and he then thought of Ganymede's husband who was also a knight. He took another, he would try and get it to Valhalla if he saw him, or could arrange a meeting. If more were needed the other could get them but at least he'd know about them, and have one he could demonstrate to others.

Falias hadn't thought to ask whether he could take some of the upgrade for others who wasn't present, however one of the other's(Venice)had.
The answer was of as much interest as the answer to his own question from earlier had been and Falias had in turn listened toScholomance's answer just as carefully as he had the answer to his question...
Because whilst a quick glance round had been enough to ascertain that neither Celsus nor those from his brigade appeared to be present, Falias knew that this was something that they potentially might find interesting.
"Thank you" he said the words in part acknowledgement and in part thank you for Scholomance's answer to his question.
He waited until some of others had picked up the upgrade before reaching down to pick one up for himself and then took enough for Celsus and the others.
"I'll pass these on to the knights that I know that aren't here" he said to Scholomance "And I'll also pass on your request for them to feedback to you if they come across any issues."
His eyes fell on the Mistral upgrade as he hesitated for a moment, "Would it be okay if I take a couple of these too?"
In truth, a part of Falias would be okay if Scholomance said no and not just because there weren't as many of the Mistral upgrade as compared to Scholomance's upgrade.
But Falias was aware that there might be those in the brigade who might also find the Mistral upgrade useful and so he should probably make an attempt to at least ask about it.

I wasn't sure if anyone had asked about the Mistral upgrade in particular and I've kind of assumed that there's a lot less of it but will tweak if I've misread
Erytheia noticed the knight of Cosmos that had led the last meeting here. It seemed like yesterday he had been here and he was already getting used to the strange presence of the Code not to mention being in space.
He smiled to Hyperborea. He would need to tell her that he had been to his wonder. But that would have to wait.
A page of Earth, one that did not yet have his ring, addressed his question about the ring upgrade. The page of Cosmos blushed a bit as he thanked the man. He didn't know so many things could predict stress. He tried to remember these as best he could so he could make his own meter.
He was distracted by a familar voice and recognized the distinct accent immediately. He greeted the man back and asked how he was doing as well. He recalled the conversation the two had about knights of places other than the sol planets.
Oh. There was a former upgrade to take as well! A knight of Earth had asked if he could take some for others. The man was the highest ranking knight of Earth he had seen since his first meeting with Camelot almost six months ago and he noted the change the aura he felt which he was becoming much better at identifying now.
Erytheia walked forward to take both the meter band and the blueprints. "I hope I can install these without issue... I am pretty new to this whole signet ring thing." He rubbed his signet ring cautiously as he spoke to Scolomance.
The page hadn't even gotten used to the feel of it on his finger much less all the small metal circle could be called upon to do.
“You’re welcome to try working with it if you can,“ he offered to Venice. „I think I’ll be taking a break from signet tinkering. Any more upgrades and these rings are liable to get bulky, ha.“
Falias asked of the lesser numbered Mistral upgrades, and Scholomance nodded to the request. „Go ahead. I don’t have a bead on how many people own this upgrade, so I didn’t make as many; if memory serves, several were present when Mistral released her last upgrade.“ Scholomance shrugged, but the bag was open to Falias’ perusal.
To Erytheia, he added, „The upgrades install in a pretty user-friendly fashion. If you’re concerned about it, I can install them for you. Did you want the Mistral upgrades too? They allow for making calls between knights and senshi, as well as the ability for a distress beacon. Oh, it gives you access to the senshi database too.
„And before I get too ahead of myself, did you want a crash course on signet rings? I didn’t do a presentation on them since the brunt of the knights here are pretty established.“
Falias nodded in acknowledgement as he slipped the upgrades that he had picked up into a pocket.
Because Scholomance was right - there really had been a fair amount of knights around during the previous knight ring upgrade that Mistral had released - far more so than the barely more than a handful that was present today.
Even with Scholomance's permission, Falias had found himself hesitating over whether to take the Mistral upgrade and had instead busied himself with spending a few moments fiddling with the Scholomance upgrade that he had taken for himself and clicking it into place.
Eventually he had returned and scooped up a couple of the Mistral upgrades. The brigade might find them useful too he told himself as he slipped them into his empty pocket.
There didn't seem to be much more reason to hang around after that and so Falias had focused on returning home to Destiny City.
He made a mental note as the surroundings of Olympus started to fade, to seek out Celsus and soon so that he could pass on the upgrades that he had picked up for the brigade.

Tortuga glanced over when he felt a gentle tug on his shirt finding Venice right at his side asking to talk to him after the meeting was over with. He gave a quick nod of assent before going back to study the upgrade. It really was pretty hard for him to wrap the shear amount of information such a small device was able to read.
When Scholomance said anyone could take more he gladly scooped up two more. He knew that his cousin would adore this, his sister not so much but it never hurt for her to have it too. Tortuga didn't quite understand everything the purple knight said but he got the gist of it, no one would be able to trigger the meters but the ring owner which stunk when it came to doing first aid on a unresponsive person. Could putting one's own ring on another person allow the meters to be read? He kept that particular question to himself, making a mental note to get Shang to test it out since he wasn't likely to get his ring any time soon himself.
"Makes sense although I would have loved to see the bright pink read out of one's stress levels. I wonder if that would make it better or worse." That last little joke was said quietly and mostly for himself. If the knight was able to accidentally make it pink then at least that meant that eventually the readouts could be color coded, right? That however was a project for a mind that was so much more technical than his own. His own musings were once more interrupted at something Scholomance said, "Does that mean that these meters could be imputed into the senshi thing? Kinda like how this little thing gives us access to their system?" Tortuga pointed at the upgrade Minstral had created.

With a few more of the new upgrades stuffed into the pockets of her coat, which still hung draped over her arm, Delphi gave a quick look to Hyperborea. "Meet you later tonight for a patrol, or tomorrow night?" She questioned while turning to leave, she didn't like the heat here on Mars. The head here, and how bright it was, didn't work well with her uniform even with the coat and boots off it didn't work. Her uniform was simply too warm, enough to cause heat stroke if you asked for her opinion on the matter.
"We could just watch a movie tonight and patrol tomorrow night." By now the knight of Cosmos surely knew what Delphi had a thing for movies, owning a very large collection of dvd's as she did, the other had been over her apartment more than once. Truthfully Delphi liked to watch movies and if being a critic was worth anything she could be one - easily. She had seen enough movies and had very strong opinions, she was blunt and honest, but that wasn't something she'd ever consider for a potential job. She was getting into gemstones and grading them.
"I took a few extra." Thinking of Slidr and that other Polaris knight she'd met at the last meeting...the dark haired male. She would have a few of these to hand out...she just needed to find the knights she was thinking about giving them to.
Once the other had answered Delphi was heading back for Destiny City - she didn't like Mars.

Erytheia nodded to the knight of Saturn. It was a lot to think about and he was very tired. He looked down at the upgrades in his hands and then to his ring.
"Thank you. I think I understand, but I will give you a call with the signet ring if I have trouble." He hesitated for a moment. "If that is fine with you, but I need to get some rest now as this is a lot for me for one night"
The page did look quite weary as he thanked the man once more.
As he teleported back to his home, all he could think about was a long, long night's sleep.
