ENTRIES FOR KID 1

Entry #1
Kid Entering For: 1
Personality of Kid:
Perfectionist - Specifically of herself and her own behavior, Jaxon likes to think that she's more mature than she actually is and she spends a lot of time making sure her behavior matches her expectations of herself. It's only when she lets her guard down that her goofier self comes out.
Thrill Seeker - Jax loves the rush she gets from being 'scared' be it a haunted house or a crazy carnival ride.
Friendly - Jaxon is an extrovert and extremely friendly; she almost always has one or two people around her.

Scariest Experience: Jaxon looked at the haunted house determined not to get scared. She was, after all, a senior now. Practically an adult. There was no way she was going to get frightened by some house full of people that were just dressed up to look scary. Still, it would be fun to go with her friends, she would find it amusing every time they screamed at some ghoul. Besides, she liked getting startled from the jump scares of the actors. But startled was one thing, truly scared was another, and she'd never been truly scared by a haunted house before.

They were about halfway through the haunted house and Jaxon had to admit that it was kind of scary. She tried to keep her cool and pretend like nothing was getting to her, but the naga could feel her heart beating faster than normal. Her eyes were darting around, trying to predetermine what was a doll, and what was going to jump out at them next. Suddenly, an actor over their heads (that she had thought was a doll) dropped the grate he was holding right as she slithered under him. Jaxon, having a slight phobia of being crushed, screamed, ducked, brought her wings up over her head to protect herself and darted forward, trying not to get smashed. She ran directly into a room with strobe lights going and froze. She couldn't think or move, her heart was pounding, her brain had turned off from the strobes, one of her friends had to literally shake Jax and pull her down the correct path before she came back to herself.

After that she was a little more jumpy, even getting into the spirit of things and screaming along with her friends. The house had one more scare in store for Jaxon, though. At the very end, just as she and her friends thought they were out of the house and safe, someone hiding behind the door started up a de-chained chainsaw. Once again she darted, screaming in fright, but she wasn't alone this time. All of her friends ran with her, screaming and laughing as they ran out of the exit.

Once they left the haunted house, Jaxon's friend asked if she was okay. The friend was definitely smirking at her a bit and Jax couldn't blame him...she had made such a big deal about not being scared of haunted houses. Jaxon grinned and shook her head. “This is the best haunted house ever! Most of them don't freak me out at all, but this one did a fantastic job of scaring me! We should go again tomorrow night!”

Entry #2
Kid Entering For: 1
Personality of Kid: Calm and generally level-headed, but doesn't like being startled.

Scariest Experience: Xandena didn't really care much for things like haunted houses. She didn't like being startled for one thing since she had a tendency to flare her wings when that happened, and for another it was all pretend anyway, so after the initial surprise she tended to just end up annoyed. But her friends were insistent that this house was the best and she had to check it out. Finally she agreed just to shut them up.

Things started out with the standard scares; sudden lights and loud noises. Since she had gone into this knowing she was going to be startled, she managed to keep her wings from doing too much more than twitching a bit and managed not to let out more than the briefest sounds of surprise. This was quickly starting to annoy her, she didn't like the sensation of adrenaline running through her body; it made her twitchy and this really wasn't anything more than she had expected.

As she was approaching what she thought had to be the end however, she entered a dimly lit room that forced her to grope along the wall. She wrinkled her nose, expecting that she was going to touch something that would feel slimy or webby, but instead a sudden roar exploded in the room followed by carriage lamps snapping on and an actual carriage bearing down on her!

She had managed herself pretty well until this point, but this was so badly out of her scope of what she had expected that she let out a shriek of pure terror, wings snapping out and hitting both the wall and passing through the illusionary carriage. The shock of her wing hitting the wall caused her to overreact to the pain and she dropped to the floor, covering herself with her wings and curling her body around herself, sobbing and shaking in fear. A staff member who wasn't dressed up had to come retrieve her and guide her through a side entrance because she utterly refused to move.

Entry #3
Kid Entering For: 1
Personality of Kid: Millicent is the easy-going sort. She tries not to rock the boat unless it absolutely has to be to be able to settle it. Definitely class A mom-friend. She tries her best not to smother her friends but she wants them all to be safe and happy. Usually she smiles through most conflict but will step in if need be. Her favorite phrase is "come on, guys, let's not shout."

Scariest Experience:
Millicent isn't sure why she agreed to go to the haunted house, but she had. It was all her friends' ideas and, to be honest, she wish she had put her tail down on this one. For the Nines' sake, one of them was even a freshling! Yet here she was, gliding across the leaf covered ground behind the pack she called her friends.

They all gathered in front of the entrance and confirmed this was there plans for the afternoon. Millicent groaned but still couldn't speak up. The big doors groaned as they were pushed open, displaying a giant entryway with a long stairway. Slowly the group moved in and took in the sights around them. The walls were appropriately decrepit with pealing wallpaper... and something oozing down them. Millicent refused to look closer as she slid the rest of the way in.

SLAM!

A second later the doors shut themselves and every child screamed.

No one moved until a moan was heard through the house. The group scattered without direction or clear thinking. Millicent took off deep into the depths of the mansion hoping to find the back door and leave. Haunted houses were not her thing and never will be.

Entry #4
Kid Entering For: 1
Personality of Kid: Corinne is ambitious, driven and creative. She aspires to be a pop star, and wow the world with her songs and dance moves. While generally sweet and upbeat, her desire to reach her goals can cause her to ignore the feelings of others, or sometimes take advantage of situations.

Scariest Experience:
Corinne was buzzing. She had just finished a set on the stage at the celebration and it had been perfect. She smiled, remembering it. She'd hit every note, and she'd seen Nightmares and Daydreams dancing in their seats. As she slithered towards the lineup for the Haunted House, she really couldn't feel any better. Reaching the back of the line, she frowned slightly. It was really long! She sighed, and crossed her arms, her lips forming a pout.

A staff member was walking down the line, making sure everyone was old enough to enter. He noticed Corinne, and jogged up to her. "Aren't you Corinne? I totally have your first CD!"

The hybrid smiled, and nodded. "Wow, that's so sweet of you? Do you want an autograph?" She basked in the recognition. This was part of what she loved so much. " Maybe if I sign something for you I could just quickly go in?" The staffer nodded enthusiastically, and Corinne pulled a head shot out of her bag. To the best staff member at the Halloween Celebration! xox Corinne

She handed him the print, and slithered after him to the front door. The benefits of being someone. She smiled and ducked in. Inside, she glanced around. It was pretty dark. This whole theme of the house was an insane asylum, so this first room was meant to be a check in area. Creepy bloody hand prints and writing covered the walls. She shivered. This was quite the house.

Corinne slowly advanced to the next room, where she froze. An actor sat in a chair wrapped in a full straight jacket, including their wings. Her breath caught in her throat at fist, but then she began hyperventilating. The actor rocked back and forth, eyes on Corinne. Her top fear was being bound. And having her wings tied up like that? She shuddered. Maybe this whole thing was just too much...

Entry #5
Kid Entering For: 1
Personality of Kid: While most who have mutations tend to be somewhat ashamed of them, this hybrid is quite the opposite. He is actually quite vain about it. He views his wings as better than all the rest, always fluffing them around others with wings to show off how majestic they are. The same goes for his scales and horn, always making sure they are as presentable as can be. His whole demeanor is that of selfishness, looking down upon those around him and even going as far as to put others down if he feels they are trying to question his majesticness. He knows he is beautiful, and uses it to his advantage to get what he wants. Those who do not comply get the full sword of his anger and vengeance. Despite all this, he doesn’t realize why he doesn’t have any real friends. Who wouldn’t want to be friends with someone as beautiful as he?

He has a strange interest in collecting limited edition non-poseable figures, being quite the hoarder about it. His room is full to the brim with them, but he cannot get rid of any of them and keeps adding more to his unending collection. He is also quite vain about his hobby as well, always showing off his most expensive and/or rare figures. Once again if someone doesn’t seem to take interest or tells him he needs to get help for his addiction, he will get mad at them for it and kick them out on the spot. Until you take what you said back and apologize, he will not talk to you.

Main Traits- Vain, Self-Centered, Hoarder, Easily-Angered, Snob

Scariest Experience: The hybrid had just finished cleaning up his wings after leaving the haunted house, ruffling them some to fluff them back up to their truly stunning normal selves. Never had he imagined getting a scare like that before, and he wasn’t ever going to go back into that wreathed attraction.

Not even thirty minutes earlier, he had decided to go into the Haunted House when a few people said it was the best around. Perhaps a good scare would be good for him. Besides, he could show everyone how great his looks were even after being scared! Not long after entering he had a few good just scares, always laughing afterwards to help calm himself down. This wasn’t too bad. He could handle this for sure. It was then that he heard someone trip from behind the scenes into the acting area, the cooler of punch that someone was carrying suddenly spilling all over his precious wings and scales “, Aghh!!!!” He went into a terrified panic, unsure of what to do. He couldn’t let his wings get ruined!!!

As quickly as he could he rushed out of the Haunted House and the festival, going to his dorm and entering the bathroom and quickly cleaning himself off. Had anyone realized it was him rushing out of the attraction and away from the event? He pleaded with the gods that no one had seen and realized it was him, knowing his appearance would be scrutinized if they did realize he had been covered in punch and was becoming a sticky mess.

Now here he was, wings and scales all cleaned up and prettied again. With that concern out of the way he went over to his device and looked through his social media to see if anyone had come to realize what had happened. It appeared not, only a few nightmares and daydreams commenting on something faster than light having just sped past them not too long ago. Oh good! No one had realized it was him! His reputation was safe, for now anyway.

ENTRIES FOR KID 2

Entry #1
Kid Entering For: 2
Personality of Kid: Sable can be hard to get along with at times. She has a tendency to be slightly frightened of people, but instead of hiding, for the most part she can be rather confrontational. She comes off as rather snooty and full of herself, but the truth is is that she actually has self esteem issues. She grew up on the streets as everyone thought she was a sign of bad luck, even her parents had abandoned her. Bad things always seem to happen to her, even little things, so much so that she's starting to believe everyone around her when they tell her that.

Scariest Experience: TW FOR ALLUSIONS TO GORE.
Unfortunately for the Bakeneko, she wasn't quite aware what time of the year it really was. She had been spending most of her time going from place to place just to survive. This night had been awfully cold, colder than it had been previously. She saw the house, unaware of what it was, and went inside. It was a little spooky, but she thought that just maybe no one would bother her there because of that fact. She really hadn't known just what she had walked into.

The first thing she noticed was how dark the house really was. She looked around for any signs of lights or candles, but there didn't seem to be any. She didn't really care though, she was out of the cold for the night and had a roof over her head. However, just as she settled down in the corner of the room, she started to hear strange noises. First it was scratching on the walls. This made her jump, but it wouldn't be the first time she had run into a flitterat or two. She tried her best to put it out of her mind, but the scratching grew louder and louder. She frowned, standing to take a look around when she heard a scream. Her heart nearly lept out of her chest, her breathing getting harder. What was that?

She picked up her things and went to investigate, hoping that whoever it was was okay, not that she was sure she could help. However, she wasn't prepared for what she saw. The room she stepped into was nearly pitch black, except that she saw little pinpoints of lights that all turned to face her when she entered, but the worst part was the smell that nearly made her run right there. She tried to put her best foot forward and pulled out a flashlight from her pack, she saw what looked to be more than a couple dozen mutated creatures, eyes now staring at her. They somewhat resembled flitterats but were much bulkier and more grotesque than she could ever imagine. However, that wasn't what made her drop her light, she saw them feasting. At first she wasn't sure what they were feasting on, but the sound of tearing flesh instantly made her stomach crawl. When the light hit the ground and circled, landing on the bloody mess of what was once a woman.

When her eyes landed on the person, and she noticed that the woman was still alive, writing in agony as the rat like creatures continued eating her. Sable let out a shriek, unable to hide it. At that point, all she could think about was getting free. She had to get out of here! Her eyes flicked back to see the milling creatures scurrying after their next meal, her! When she finally exited the house, she felt herself breathing hard, and her stomach wretched. For whatever reason they hadn't followed her. But she knew that no matter what, she'd never look at flitterats the same again!

Entry #2
Kid Entering For: 2
Personality of Kid: Somewhat stoic, perfectionist

Scariest Experience: Since she was interning at the haunted house, the last thing Xandena expected was to end up scared herself.

Her job was to maintain the lights and ensure they were all working the way they were supposed to, and she performed her task with due diligence, which partly involved walking above on the beams in the ceiling attached to a safety harness that ran on a rail. She had just finished replacing a bulb and was heading back along the rails when she lost her balance. Now this itself wouldn't be a problem, since she was wearing the harness, but she didn't anticipate how far it would drop her and she ended up dangling down in the house itself. Still, she wasn't very concerned and she flailed out to try and find the wall or something she could grasp so she could find her feet in the gloom, intending to undo her harness--which would spring back up once released from her weight--and walk to the nearest staff door to return to her job.

Just as she got her harness undone however, someone dressed as a creepy clown came around the corner and snuck up on her; one of the employees who walked around inside the house to startle guests so no matter how many times they went through the house they got a unique experience. This sight was what Xandena was faced with when she turned around. Taken off guard by such a terrifying sight, she shrieked and shoved them reflexively, then ran for it. The creepy laughter that followed her made her forget all about the staff exit and she just kept running until she found the guest way out. It was only once she was out that she remembered it was all pretend, and mortified, sincerely hoped that she never crossed paths with that co-worker lest they realize she hadn't been a guest.

ENTRIES FOR KID 3

Entry #1
Kid Entering For: 3
Personality of Kid: Haughty and imperious, Amanita is the 'Queen Bee'. She feels like her Hallowed status simply makes her more special than others, and that her very presence is a gift. She also loves fashion, especially vintage!

Scariest Experience: Amanita giggled behind her hand, as she passed her ticket over the the door boy. She shot a glance back to her group of friends, rolling her eyes. They responded by mimicking her eyerolls. Good - that's what they ought to do! They also kept a full step behind her, which caused her to roll her eyes again. Whatever, she was braver than they were anyhow. She smirked, wondering which would flee the house first. Passing through the front door, she turned to face her minions, while still walking.

"Ladies, lets bet on who wimps out first, shall we?" She turned on her heel again, almost walking into a giant rubber spider. She brushed it aside with a hand, while one of the girls behind her gasped. "Marion? I think you just got my vote." She laughed, and could hear the other girl whimper, while the rest of her friends agreed. Marion it was. Amanita snickered. "Don't worry darling. Someone had to be the one!"

The other girl was clearly deflated, and was still jumping at every prop. Amanita held her head high, and slowly strolled through the exhibits. They stopped in an area that was meant to simulate a mental hospital. There was even an actor in a straight jacket, pulling against the restraints. Amanita rolled her eyes, and glanced back at her friends. "This place isn't even scary. ... So lame! I bet Marion won't even get scared!"

While the other girl certainly look scared, she continued on, following Amanita. Amanita pushed through a doorway into the next room. The door was covered in long strips of fabric, that obscured what was beyond it. She pushed it out of her way, she didn't want it to ruin her hair.

Entering the next room, she gasped, a hand flying to her face. A small sound got stuck in her throat. The room looked like a cave, with a narrowing tunnel that was clearly the only way forward. Amanita swallowed deeply. She did not like tight placed. She tried to put her usual smirk on her face. "I think it's Marion's turn to go first."

Thankfully her word was essentially law to the other girls, and Marion assumed the lead. Amanita dropped towards the back, and they had to proceed one at a time. At first, it was just ducking, but the tunnel got lower and tighter. In some places there were other side tunnels, some with strange flickering lights, others with dripping liquid. Amanita shivered, she did not like this at all. She took a deep breath, and pushed onwards, stooped in half. Surely this stupid tunnel had to end soon. It just had to.

Then a clammy hand grasped her ankle and pulled. Amanita let out a shrill scream. Her hands flailed towards her ankle, but she was being pulled backwards. She clawed at the walls, still screaming. Her group of friends had turned, watching in shock. Then the dragging stopped. She could hear someone laughing, from inside the wall. Her throat felt tight, and she could feel tears on her cheek. The other girls were laughing, too. They'd already turned around and were giggling among themselves. Amanita still sat on the ground, breathing hard. She heard the laugh again, and felt something brush her ankle. She scrambled towards her friends, wondering if perhaps she'd be the one who quit first ...

Entry #2
Kid Entering For: 3
Personality of Kid: A reserved character, she spends a lot of her time simply not talking much, focusing instead on observing everything around her. If she wants to she can make easy conversation, but just chooses not to most of the time. To those she doesn’t know she tends to be bitter, vindictive, and mistrusting, but once she gets to know someone she becomes much more kind and friendly, putting lots of trust and loyalty towards those she would call her friends. Most times when rough things happen she will be quick to suggest submitting, feeling that it is too hard to try and get what you want when there is too much opposition. This does not apply if her friends are in trouble, doing anything she can to make the situation right and trying her hardest to fight for it. She is even willing to suffer if it means her friends will have an easier time. She can have a really strong willpower if she so wishes, most times it being when her friends are needing help.

To most who don’t know her she would seem to have a dull and deadpan personality, but she is known for sudden outbursts of emotion as well. Most of the time these outbursts are out of anguish or fear, although sometimes it is out of happiness. If she is needing help, she is most likely to be stubborn and refuse any help offered to her. She has quite the cynicism about herself when it comes to her mutation, harboring self-hatred about it.

Main Traits - Reserved, Submissive (Without Friends), Strong Willpower (For Friends), Stubborn, Self-Hatred
To those she doesn’t know: Dull, Mistrusting, Bitter
To those she is friends with: Loyal, Kind, Friendly, Trusting

Scariest Experience: Making her way into the haunted house, the dryad thought nothing of anything going on around her. She was quite observant, always managing to notice when someone was about to try and scare her. If this was the scariest Haunted House around, then she honestly didn’t understand. Did people find clowns to be this scary? She could even hear some of the staff snickering quietly behind the sets that she was way too deadpan, finding it hard to even scare her. One even commented on her weird mutation, her eyebrows lowering some in dismay. She really didn’t like her mutation, always finding it hard to fit in with her kind when you had fungus instead of leaves.

Out of nowhere though, the dryad heard a familiar scream of terror, recognizing it right away who it was. It was one of her best friends from the above. What were they doing here? Without second thought, she rushed as fast as possible to where she heard the scream, seeing her friend cowering as a mummy tried to scare her and was succeeding. The daydream in question, her friend, was crying at this point and she wasn’t about to allow that anymore.

“Leave my friend alone!” She exclaimed, cause the staff member to get startled and step away. She rushed over to her friend and took a hold of her hand, making a speedy escape to the exit and giving them a hug once they were outside “, You okay? I heard your scream and rushed to help you.”

Her friend gave a nod and held her tight, the dryad making sure not to let go. She didn’t know why her friend was here, but she wasn’t going to let no Haunted House hurt her friend.

Entry #3
Kid Entering For: 3
Personality of Kid: Shy, quiet, and reserved, they don't really like to draw attention to themselves and are conflict-avoidant.

Scariest Experience:
How did they get into this mess? Oh, that's right, they were strongly encouraged by their cousin to see the sights and experience Below in all it's dim but wonderful glory. Or something to that effect. Yakal readily acknowledged the dim aspect but they weren't so sure about the glory. Especially when they considered how they were in a haunted house attraction. It was easy enough to tell themselves that there was nothing to fear and that no one would dare hurt them. Actually internalizing this? Not so much.

They just went along with the tour group, believing there was safety in numbers. And for the first few jump scares and surprise screams, Yakal and the others in the tour group were doing fine. Some of them were even laughing and poking fun at the costumes the staff wore. But just as they started to calm down, they arrived at the very "heart" of the haunted house.

The lights were a dark red that flickered on and off in a steady rhythm. Sort of like a pulse. As Yakal's eyes adjusted, they could make out passages and crawlspaces and holes peppering the walls.

The door they'd come in from slammed shut, making them jump in a start. As for the lights, what began as a steady, soothing rhythm started to quicken, practically strobing in a frantic, nauseating pattern with sounds of deep, heavy breathing interspersed throughout. Then claws on wood, teeth on pulp, soft giddy giggling, and a child-like whisper of "I'm coming to get you~" proved too much for the tour group and the other scatter, leaving Yakal rooted, literally, to the spot.

Their does had dug into the floor, petrified from the ominous promise despite everything in their being screaming to run. The red lights flickering change to orange, then to yellow, then to red, and back. Was it just Yakal or was the room getting unbearable hot? They don't know if it was all in their mind, or if the paint used in the attraction had mind-altering pollen. The dryad's too scared to think or move. The only thing they can do is pretend to be one with the walls, be part of the scenery.

In the end, one of the staff has to turn off the "heart" scare to fetch and escort a shaking Yakal out to safety.

ENTRIES FOR KID 4

Entry #1
Kid Entering For: 4
Personality of Kid: Pronouns- Zhe, zer, zerself

Main defining traits: prankster, cowardly, visually intellectual (observant), self-doubting

A little trickster who is always coming up with pranks to pull on others, but in all honesty is a scaredy vespercat. Zhe tries to pull pranks on everyone, but goes running whenever someone pulls one on zer. Zhe is able to determine when a prank is coming zer way, but those who do manage to slip through zer judgment are terrifying to zer, and zhe will not recover from it for quite some time. Due to zer always pranking others, zhe doesn’t get along with almost anyone zhe comes into contact with. It would appear to many that zhe is full of herself, viewing others as not worthy of zer time, but zhe is honestly just very self conscious about zerself, and pushes others away as to not get zer feelings hurt. This is due to the fact zhe is not like everyone else, having a third eye and heart pupils. Due to this, zhe is always trying to hide zer third eye with zer hair, and always tries to not keep eye contact with anyone in fear of them seeing zer heart shaped pupils. Zhe is really protective of zer title of Trickster Elf, doing pretty much anything to protect it, even facing something zhe finds scary.

Scariest Experience: The little elf had heard many of the other freshlings calling zer a coward for not going into the haunted house earlier with all the others, not wanting them to know zhe was really scared to go in zerself. Many claimed that someone like zer who was always pranking everyone else all the time shouldn’t be scared to go into just a haunted house, the group then calling zer a scardey vespercat. Well, zhe would show them wrong! Zhe was going to go through the whole haunted house and not come out screaming or crying. That was right, zhe was going to show them that zhe was not a coward! Zer reputation as the trickster elf was on the line, so zhe had to defend it!

Not long after entering, zhe took in zer surroundings to see if zhe could tell what jump scares would be coming out at zer, or any scary scenery taking place. Not even a few seconds in, and zhe was already face to face with the most terrifying looking nightmare zhe had ever seen! Zer eyes began to water as a scream emitted from zer lips, rushing away from the scary beast. At every turn she came across something else, like a clown with bowling pins as a large bowling ball came toward her, or a lady falling into a hole in the floor as she was backing away from someone with a baseball bat. Before long zhe had found the exit, tears screaming from zer face as zhe rushed to get away from the laughing freshlings that saw zer so scared. Zhe tried zer hardest to keep zer hair in front of zer third eye, tears streaming down from it as well as the wind from zer running tried to move zer hair out of zer face. Never would zhe realize that the first thing that scared zer was simply someone entering the house themselves to see what was inside, dressed up in a terribly made Nezubat costume.

Entry #2
Kid Entering For: 4
Personality of Kid: Orphe is a very loyal little kid. He doesn’t take casual or superficial relationships and it takes him a lot to open up to people since he throws all of himself into loving or liking a person. He tends to feel things intensely and has extremely strong emotional reactions to most situations. It’s hard to verbalize his feelings to others and so Orphe doesn’t cope with things well.

He holds up his feelings keeping them tight to his chest until they get to be too much and then they suddenly burst forward often against his control. This is due to the fact that he’s afraid if he shares people will find him weak or hate him and leave him. This is partially due to the fact that his parents left him after telling him they just couldn’t deal with having a mutated kid. Luckily he seldom gets angry but his feelings tend to cause him to brood a lot and end up trying to move quietly to the background.

However if you can get through his shields, you find an insecure, quirky, and prideful little kid that just wants to be liked. He’s constantly studying and learning about different crafts often being seen making things. Whether this is learning how to knit or carve or do pottery. He just enjoys making things. He also loves exploring and figuring out mysteries or leaning about anything supernatural or magical in nature.

Scariest Experience:
October always brought complicated feelings. It was the month he was awakened in, thus resulting in Orphe being a hallowed. It was the month his parents had decided they didn’t want him, and it was the month that everything seemingly went wrong. Still it was the month that Orphe was born in and he wanted to love October. It was the month that everyone loved spooky stuff. It was the time of costumes and candy and everyone having a fun time. He felt like he wasn’t so weird in October.

So in all that made today a typical October day. He had gotten tons of candy, but it had been stolen by a bunch of bullies who had then turned around to make Orphe feel as little as possible. They made fun of his little costume among other things. Even worse Orphe had ended up crying in front of them as he helplessly beat against their legs. However that was enough, he wasn’t going to put up with this anymore. He’d show them he was worth something. He would.

The idea had come to him while he had been sitting there on the bench going over the candy he still had left after the bullies had pilfered his bucket when he noticed them coming out of a haunted house. They ran out totally white, shaken, and even a couple were screaming. Orphe quickly hid behind the bush to make sure they didn’t see him and looked over at the building. It was an old looking mansion, and appeared to be decaying in places. However that was just clever decorating right? They wouldn’t actually let people into a structurally unsound building… right?
He had heard from the kids at school that apparently a family had once lived in the house when one of them had gone insane and murdered the rest of the family. In fact it was a rumor that people kept seeing ghostly figures and other supernatural phenonemom at the mansion on the off season hours. Orphe loved that sort of stuff, but when they turned it into a haunted house, well it was supposed to be the best in the town. Way too scary for freshlings, or so his caretakers said. So Orphe somehow slipped away and joined what looked to a tour.

Walking into the haunted house they were given a tour guide and each given a glowing lantern. The tour guide explained they would be telling the history of the house and the history of some of the rooms. They were even explaining some of the more supernatural events that people had seen. Orphe was kind of excited.
Entering the hallway, things weren’t so bad. It was dressed up like a typical room from the period, or at least rooms that Orphe had seen from textbooks. The room was covered with dust and cobwebs though and everything seemed to be in an old sepia tone. From there they entered the kitchen where there were giant cockroaches scurrying around and flitterats chewing on familiar shaped bones; from familiar shaped skeletons (Orphe supposed they were just props… right?). Then they went through a library and a couple trap doors. All the while with things scurry around just out of the corner of your eyes or things would pop up and scare you and it only got progressively worse from there as the tour guide faithfully gave the history of the place. They were then eventually chased by clanging noises and lights and doors flickering and shutting into apparently this secret entrance. Orphe did badly with closed tight spaces so crawling through the dark with his lantern was the start of when Orphe realized he wasn’t doing so well and maybe this wasn’t a good idea.

It was then they came to most scary room, even though at the time Orphe didn’t realize it. It was a mostly normal and somewhat empty looking room. It looked like one of those extra storage rooms you walked in to get to the back door. Suddenly the lights dimmed and shadows emerged from the base of the ceiling light fixtures, and from the air vents. They then pooled up to form figures that advanced towards the group. One of them even grabbed the tour guide who disappeared with a scream.

It was just a shadow trick on the wall right? Right and then there was a trap door that the actors would use as they wore shadowy figure like costumes so it looked like the shadows where glomping together to form people. He knew that had to be the case, but with the flashing eerily lights in the room with the low scary ambience sounds and the way they kept scrapping against the floor as they inched towards the tour group, who was now guideless. It was almost like long forgotten souls of people who had died and been trapped in the house seeking to drag down others with them. Well no matter what it was Orphe just wanted to get out of the haunted house. The exit was just right there and they would emerge safely in the garden. However as he tried to make his escape suddenly something cut him off and he bounced off them landing on the ground, as if some unheard signal passed between the shadowy figures they converged around him blocking him off from the door. Orphe wasn’t going to cry, even if his eye sight was getting blurry from the tears welling up. His breath starting hitching and catching in his throat, hiccups caught in his throat trying to fight their way out and his eyes burned from the tears. They were too close, and they wouldn’t let him out no matter how much he pushed. It felt like cold fingers were clawing at him, caging him. Suddenly his little lantern went out and the room flushed into darkness.

Orphe didn’t care he was supposed to be in there to prove he was more than those bullies. He just wanted out. He wanted out. He wanted out. He wanted out and they wouldn’t let him out. Why wouldn’t let him out.

Suddenly light suddenly broke through the darkness as the back door was shoved open again and an unfamiliar white hand grabbed Orphe’s before yanking him out of the cage of figures around him. The shadows tried to attack the owner of the hand but no matter what they did the white hand kept pushing through them never once letting go of Orphe.

“He is just a bloody…. Kid” the owner of the hand practically spat. “Next time, pick on one of the damn hot headed teenagers,” and with that the door to the outside was thrown open and Orphe was free. Orphe limply stood there trying to get his lungs to work again.

“It’s okay. It’s okay to cry, that was scary and I promise I wouldn’t tell anyone” They told him getting down to his level. Orphe finally ended up bursting into tears and throwing themselves against the stranger’s chest. Why… why had he ever thought that was a good idea? It was the stupidest idea ever. All the while he was beating himself up, the arms kept steady and comforting.

Entry #3
Kid Entering For: 4
Personality of Kid: Tries too hard to impress others, is secretly insecure.

Scariest Experience: Ankhet was having sooo many regrets right now. She had boasted too loud about how she was totally not afraid of the haunted house in the earshot of some other kids she was hoping to make friends with, so they had dared her to go in by herself. Her mother was going to be so mad at her, but here she was and she was gonna do it! She was gonna show those kids how tough she was and then they'd totally want to play with her!

Clutching her stuffed doll tight, she just made herself keep moving forward even when she was jumping halfway to the ceiling (or so it felt) every time there was a loud noise or a sudden flash of light. Surely it had to end sometime!

She thought she saw the exit and headed straight for it when she turned a corner and came face to face with a spider as big as a grownup. She screamed and threw her toy at it, then ran past it and kept running, tripping, falling, catching on her costume, it wasn't until she got outside that she realized she'd left her toy behind and her mother found her wailing outside in fear of the spider, worried that it had eaten her toy but too terrified to go find him.

ENTRIES FOR KID 5

Entry #1
Kid Entering For: 5
Personality of Kid: Confident and tough. He's not tough for himself, but for others who need a helping hand. He doesn't mind being the face of those who cannot show their face, and speak for those who cannot. He knows hardship, but never lets that be an excuse for any poor behavior he may exhibit, and that in turn leads to him making sure others don't as well.
He enjoys scary movies, hot cocoa, superhero action figures and looking up obscure articles on [Insert universe's version of wikipedia] at 4am on a school night.

Scariest Experience:
'It's not that scary.'

He'd managed to squirm into the haunted house at the insistence of another. Most of the time it was the same old, same old. Things jumping out, screams, the occasional blood and gore...fake blood and gore. The usual stuff.

With a huff, the Naiad continued on. His shark tail swung back and forth, and he had little to no reason to keep going.

Until he saw the clerk.

With papers. That needed to be signed.

With a smirk, he strode over, only for his friend to grab him by the arm, shaking their head.

He'd have none of it, and confidently strode forwards. Pen grabbed, name hastily scribbled, he threw a smile to his friend...and entered the room.

For a while, everything was black. Nothing was around him that he could see, and he confidently strode forwards. He managed to stop, however, by force, as he hit /something/.

Rubbing his face, he grumped. "Oh come on, you made me sign a waiver for thi--"

'You're a monster...'

Not only did the words cause him a pause, the voice sent a shiver down his spine.

'I didn't want you to be like this...'

Slowly, but surely, he backed away. Back into another hard surface...but the door! Where was the door!

As he searched frantically for the exit, the voice only continued.

'You have nothing.' What could have been his mother showed up on one surface.

'You only act tough.' A father, on the other.

'They look at you with hatred.' A sibling.

'You're disgusting.' His ex.

'Unwanted' His mother again.

'You don't deserve to exist.' A different mother.

The voices overlapped, one right after the other, his actions became more and more erratic and he fumbled, searched, and finally, he had--

"ENOUGH!" he screamed, loud enough to drown out the voices. Slowly, he turned, and glared at each of the images in turn. Each image looked back at him, silent and still. Eyes wide, blank, and mouths hanging open.

He stared a few more moment before speaking.

"Where the hell is the exit?" He questioned, unaffected by the voices.

One of the images pointed.

"A'ight. Thanks." He gave a thumbs-up before heading in that direction.

Bombarded with questions from his friend, he only shrugged, talked about voices trying to get to him. Repeated what they'd said, and earned hugs of comfort.

"Really, it wasn't that bad." He repeated over and over again.

His shaking shoulders told a different tale.
