Eirlys sighed. "At the time, your Father wasn't exactly approved by your Grandmother. She...viewed him as a playboy who wasn't worth the families time." she knew her daughter would clue in with her wording. Eirlys' mother was the judgmental sort.

Riya did pick on the wording. She pressed her lips into a hard line and stared at the floor. She was thankful that her nausea had eased up a bit but she still felt awful. Feverish and chilly at the same time as well as in mild pain. Her stomach was cramping up from too much puking. "Dad was just not liked by anyone, was he?" Served him right. Her general opinion of her father hadn't changed.
She huffed. "Do you think my stomach would let me drink water?" Riya not only wanted to wash the taste out of her mouth but she wanted to quench her thirst.

Eirlys looked at her daughter. "Riya...your father never let that bother him. Besides. Now, he's loved by us..." she made a final sort of tone. Then the female nodded as she stood up to fill a mug with water from the nearby basin. "Yes, here you are my love." The parent pressed a kiss to the youth's temple as she retook her seat.

She hadn't meant that as a way to poke fun at her dad but when her mother seemed to speak with a firm tone she nodded. Riya knew that her dad had a sort of confidence in him. It was visible whenever he spoke to people. It didn't matter if the man knew the person he was talking to or not. Was that why her mother had fallen for him? When she was given the glass of water she smiled. "Thank you moma." The kiss placed against her temple made her eyes close contently.
Lifting the glass to her lips she sipped a the water slowly, not wanting to over do it. It felt cool along her throat and since her stomach was mostly empty of it's contents she could feel it cooling her inner core as well. Only about one third of the water was consumed before she handed the cup back. While she wanted more she still felt awful. Her stomach was in pain and she felt feverish. "How long does this last?"

Eirlys smiled at her daughter. As she sat there she thought about it. What should she do? Invite this boy into her child's room? She glanced to Devi who sat at the door. The Poscuta skittered into the room and curled at Riya's side...the parent running fingers through her hair. Eirlys chuckled. "Just a few days love..." She pressed another kiss to her child's temple. "Talk to me more."

Days!? Riya gave a loud groan and buried her face in her pillow. She didn't want to feel like this for days! Still she sighed and turned her head to look at her mother. "Talk? About what?" The tips of her ears were burning. If her mother asked her about Ergon then she wouldn't lie.
"Okay, so.. how is the beast training going?" Riya hoped that he could distract her mother with talk of her creatures.

Eirlys chuckled at her daughters face. "Everything and anything, my darling..." she said as she rubbed the younger girls back. It reminded her of her time with her own Mama. The female was always a listener. She wanted to be there like that for her children. As she heard her child's question she leaned her head back to think on that. "Its good...the whole crew is adapting well to the new climate." she chuckled.

Anything? Riya thought about that for a long moment. Though she did of course hear her mother mention that the animals were adjusting to the cold. Something that had her nodding. But Iriyana would change the subject on her mother yet again.
"I'm guessing Grandmother gave me the herbs because I slept with Ergon?" Though how the elderly woman had found out was beyond her. She could practically swear that there had been no one around when that happened. "Soooo.. they are to prevent a baby, right?" What else could they be used for? And why would anyone want to take them? Riya still felt horrible. "Why did she give them to you? I mean, I know you and dad.. but.. didn't you want to have a baby? Didn't you want me and Uli?" What if her grandmother had given her mother those evil plants when she was pregnant with her and her twin? That alone made her shiver.

Eirlys glanced to her child. A small trickle of dread down her spine. "Yes. The herbs are for that." as Riya asked the rest of her questions Eirlys found herself a bit...unable to answer right away. She took a deep breath before she did speak. "She wanted to control a bit of how her clan was viewed. Your Grandmother is highly vain of her family. To her. Appearance is everything. I wanted children. Your Grandmother wanted children born of a warrior. Which we both know your Father is not." She took a deep breath. "I was overjoyed when I found I was carrying you and your brother." she nuzzled her daughter. "Your Grandmother is...well...she's hardheaded."

Knowing that she had guessed right about the herbs made her frown. "Does that mean I have to take them every time?" Riya wasn't sure she could handle that if she had to. Ergon might just end up being a dad sooner than he wanted. Iriyana groaned. Being a girl sucked some times.
As her mother explained more about the way her grandmother thought she snorted. Of course her dad was no warrior. The man dressed too extravagantly for that. Not to mention she'd never seen him so much as hold any type of weapon. Something that the girl had a problem with most times. Though it did make her wonder what path in life Ergon was going to choose. Here she had gotten intimate with him and had share her body without even knowing that much about him. Well now she just felt stupid.
After getting a nuzzle from her mother she gave a half smile. "Well, tell grandmother to stay away from me." Her and her herbs could stay well away!

Erilys chuckled and kissed her daughter's temple. "Done." she said in a final sort of tone. Blinking as she examined her child's face. "You don't have to go near those blasted things." she promised. The elder female then stood. Ready to give her child space. "Now, you rest. Alright? I'll call for this Ergon at a later time...perhaps your Father and I will talk to him for a moment."
