Forestfern set about rubbing the paste onto the spots the kit mentioned. "The paste helps relieve the soreness of muscles underneath, and will help relieve the stiffness the pain causes." She explained slowly as she applied the paste. When she was done, she told Eclipse to stay put, while she ran the remains to dirt place and buried them, before washing her own paws in the same puddle as before.
She returned to her den within a few moments, sitting near Eclipse again. "So you really have no idea where your home is? Or is it starting to come back to you now that you're safe?" She knew sometimes, the fear of the moment could cause a cat's memory to lapse. A cat as young as this one certainly had a queen looking for her somewhere, and Forestfern hated the thought of having Eclipse away from home for too long, even if she couldn't truly help her get back. She was hoping, maybe, she would recall her steps with time.

The she-cat was telling the truth; as the daisy leaf was being rubbed into the spots, a relieving sensation was spreading, the soreness fading gradually, though it would linger just a bit. But this was still amazing to the kit as the medicine cat took care of the remains of the paste as well as washed her paws.
"I... I don't know. I was panicking all of the night and wandering through it all trying to get home," she mewed softly, eyes darkening from recalling the previous night. "Maybe I'll recall the direction, but for all I know I walked in circles..." A wild cat kit probably would have known to take shelter and stay still, but she hadn't ever experienced a storm except in the safety of the two-leg nest.

Forestfern settled down, wrapping her tail around her paws as she looked at the kit. She felt a little bad for making her think back, not wanting to add to her discomfort. "Alright, that's fine. Just sometimes things will come back to a cat once they're out of a bad situation. It might still come back, with time, and if not, you could stay here, like Doestar said." Forestfern mewed, unsure of what else to say. Really, the kit's mother should have kept a better eye on the little one - even the most scatterbrained of kittypets should have realized letting a kit wander alone before a storm was a mouse brained idea. Doestar mewed a greeting at the entrance to the den then, and Forestfern bade her to enter.
"How is she?" Doestar mewed, maintaining her focus on Foresfern for now.
"Alright, for now. Just a little sore, but today was probably farther then she's had to walk her entire life. I'd like to keep her in my den a few days, in case she got sick staying out in the storm all night and just isn't showing symptoms yet. I think some prey and rest will be all she really needs though."
"Keep me posted. I'd like to have Redbriar at least teach her how to hunt as soon as possible." Doestar mewed, "He should be back soon, but you can take something off the fresh-kill pile for her." Forestfern dipped her head respectfully, and Doestar left the den once more.
"I'll be right back." Forestfern mewed, before moving out of he den again. She walked over to the fresh kill pile and selected a mouse for her the kit to eat, bringing it back t the den and setting it before the kit. "Have you ever had fresh prey before?"
