"Swords?" When Aurelia came back and mentioned swords, Meadow was insanely curious. When she picked up Gabby, Meadow stood and followed her like a puppy. "Ship house? This is starting to sound more interesting." He looked up at Gozu and grinned. With the bat on his shoulder, it was like he was a pirate! "Hm... What sort of booty do we need? OH! I have rations!" He still had the 4 ginger cookies he'd stuffed in his pocket. "We can use the sandbox as our boat Or the swings! The swings would be better." That way they could swing or climb on it, and Gozu could pearch somewhere if he didn't want to stay on Meadow's shoulder. Of course he was happy to have the bat on his shoulder.

"Cookie booty with a tasty milk grog to wash it down!" Aurelia declared as they made it outside. "That be the treasure that we seek!" She looked around and rolled the carriage over to the swings at Meadow's suggestion, taking out the milk carton as she made her way to the sandbox. "The treasure should be waiting for us on this island, kept safe from the elements and bugs." She smiled as she had one of the bandannas in her hand, digging a dip in the sand and resting the bandanna within it carefully. She then placed the milk carton in it as well, making sure it was in the shade. Whether Meadow placed his cookies in it or not didn't matter, her mind already whirling with her imagination activating. She nodded when she was satisfied with her work and ran back to the carriage, grabbing an eye patch and putting it on along with a bandanna around her head.
"We're a pirate family! Our kids are our crew and we raid the seas for coin and snacks!" She grabbed a toy sword and struck a dramatic pose, which was offset by the silly grin with her tongue sticking out. She then picked up Gabby, who was just watching curiously for a long time, and pulled a dress out of the carriage that she thought would fit her. The sealpup wiggled as the dress was pulled onto her, though unfastened because.....well, she was just a little too chubby. The dress itself had been taken from a female pirate doll. "Gabby, the Gilded Deceiver! She looks cute but watch out for her powerful tail swings!" Aurelia had put on another one of the eye patches on Gabby, the sealpup looking somewhat bewildered and a little silly. Gozu watched as his companion was transformed before his eyes, head tilting slightly as he saw what she was being made to wear.....and if one looked closely, they could see him grin. He even made little clicking sounds, which was basically him laughing, and was glad he wasn't being forced to wear those ridiculous garments.

Meadow decided that Aurelia's cookies could be the treasure, his were the crew's rations. Since he had 4, there was one for everyone. "Hey Gozu, let's see what cool stuff Aurelia found for us to wear, ok?" He grinned then looked into the stroller. He found a bandanna. It wasn't a pirate themed one or anything, just plain pink, but he took it and tied it around his head. "Yaaarh! I be the fierce pirate.... Uh..." He had to think of his pirate name. "No-beard, the pirate! Yeah!" Good enough. "Hmmm. There's only one more eyepatch, and I don't think the shirt you brought would fit Gozu because of his wings. Gozu, wanna wear the eyepatch like a pirate medallion? It can be like our family treasure, and Gozu, you're in charge of keeping it safe, ok?" He reached up to tie the eyepatch around Gozu's neck. "I didn't tie it too tight, did I?" He gently scratched the top of Gozu's head. Ok, everyone get on the ship!" He picked up the other sword and jumped onto one of the swings, standing on it and holding onto one of the chains like a pirate on a rope. "We're going to have to fight a mighty sea beast to get to the treasure, first mate!"

Aurelia had added her cookies to the treasure and kept the covered from the sand. She was already trying to think of her pirate speak when Meadow jumped onto the swing and declared himself No-Beard, which prompted her to giggle. She set Gabby down on the ground near the swings and climbed onto the other one, holding her sword out in dramatic pose. "And I am the pirate....ummmm...Cookie-Crook!" It was a ridiculous name but she liked it because it sounded funny. Gozu clung onto Meadow's shoulder as he moved, this person a lot like Aurelia in how he moved (which he was used to by this point.) Aurelia looked over at them when it was mentioned that the shirt wouldn't fit Gozu because of his wings, realizing he was probably right and feeling a little disappointed...only to grin as he tied the last eye patch around the nezubat's neck like a medallion. It seemed he was used to Aurelia doing these kinds of things to him. He chirped approvingly at the feel of the medallion on his neck.
"Thar be a mighty sea dragon in these waters, matey! Fierce and territorial, it protects its delicious cookie booty from invaders like us!" Aurelia swung a bit on the swing as she pretended to look out into the gardens as the ocean. "This beast be crafty, cap'n....sly and sneaky, it hides itself in the waves..." Gabby had been quiet the entire time, staying in place as she looked about while the commotion was happening....until she saw the prize of milk and cookies just sitting there in the sandbox. A determined bark escaped her and she was flopping herself across the garden slowly. Aurelia saw her moving and looked in that direction, seeing movement in the grass. It was a harmless garter snake. "Captain! I spy the sea dragon!" She pointed her sword at the snake as it paused in its movement.

"Avast! A sea monster? We can't be havin' that keeping us from our booty!" He pointed his sword outward, about to tell Gozu to be on the lookout for the monster, when Gabby barked. He looked over towards the rustling grass. Be ready men! It might be a fierce battle, but we can't lose!" Meadow didn't want to hurt the snake, only scare it a little. He looked to the bat on his shoulder. "I'm going to jump off the swing." He told the familiar, not wanting to startle it when he did. He started swinging a little, and then used the motion of the swing to let him jump farther. He landed at the edge of the play pit where the swings were. "CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!" He flailed his sword at the grass.

Gozu watched everything curiously until he was told that Meadow was going to jump off of the swing. When the Naiad launched himself, Gozu let go of his shoulder and fluttered in place as he waited for him to land, perching back on his shoulder once he was on solid ground again. The nezubat was well-versed in dealing with sudden, jarring movements thanks to Aurelia. The Nixie heard Meadow's charge command and she, too, jumped off of the swings....but didn't land quite as gracefully. "W-w-whooooa!" At first it seemed she landed perfectly but instead fell forward into a somersault roll towards the sandbox. Gabby heard the commotion behind her and flopped out of the way of the rolling ball of Aurelia, watching her finally stop about half a foot away from the snake.
The snake, having heard all the noise and seeing something rolling towards it rather fast, high-tailed it out of there into the brush across the lawn. Aurelia stopped on her back, dizzily looking up at the sky now that she was no longer seeing it switching with the ground at a rapid pace in her vision. "Whoa....I feel all swishy....did we win?" She slowly pushed herself to sit up, her eye patch flipped up on her forehead from the tumble.

"Aye, Cookie-Crook! Your... uh... rolling cannon ball attack vanquished the evil thing! And brave Gabby was so fearless in charging in first! And nimble Gozu! The... uh... nimble! Yeah. We all did well! We deserve some rations before we unearth the treasure." He grinned. Even though he had eaten so much already, he felt it was time to share the cookies he still had in his pockets. "So, does everyone want a cookie?" He fished them out of his pockets. "What do you two even eat?" He looked first at Gabby, then up at Gozu. He didn't have a familiar so he had no idea if cookies were good for them or not.

Once things finally stopped sloshing around, Aurelia looked around for a moment to see if the snake was still around and....it wasn't! She grinned and nodded firmly when he called Gabby brave and fearless, giggling a bit at the notion that Gozu was nimble. Oh she definitely thought he was but it was the way Meadow had said it that made her laugh. When he mentioned 'rations' Gabby felt her stomach twinge just a bit. Yes, she had just eaten but she always had room for cookies! "Yes! rations after a good days battle!" She got herself up onto her feet to walk over to Meadow with slightly wobbly steps. Gabby, at the mention of food, forgot whatever had drawn her attention away earlier and was scooting right on Aurelia's heels, barking happily. Gozu was flying in little circles around Meadow, chittering excitedly and doing a loop every so often. "They can have a cookie. Gozu won't eat too much and Gabby can only have one or she'll have stomach problems." Aurelia answered Meadow's musing in a rather...serious tone, which was likely very different than her usual speaking. She reached down to give Gabby a gentle pat on the head and then smiled up at Meadow. "They both love fish and Gabby has greens now and then. Gozu usually feeds himself with bugs and fruit, sometimes veggies if he feels like it."

"Maybe they should get half a cookie each then. If Gozu won't eat a whole one and Gabby dosn't need to get sick." He suggested, pulling out the 'ration' cookies. He broke one in half and then handed half to Aurelia to give to Gabby. "I never thought being a pirate would be such hard work."

Aurelia smiled up at Meadow and nodded, taking the half he gave her for Gabby. "Good idea." She sat down to catch her breath and ward off the remaining dizziness as Gabby flopped up next to her, staring at the cookie expectantly. Aurelia broke it into a couple of smaller pieces, giving them to her one at a time as she watched the sealpup's face curve with a blissful smile. "Yeah, being a pirate is lots of hard work. You have to make sure your ship is in good shape, that it's stocked up with supplies for everyone, that it's going in the right direction, that your crew is happy and kept in line..." Aurelia listed off things she had read about as she gave Gabby her last cookie piece. "Not to mention all the work it takes to find treasure, too. Most seem like they have fun doing it, though, so it can't be all bad." The nixie smiled at her friend before leaning back on her hands, wiggling her feet in thought. In the meantime Gozu had settled himself on Meadow's shoulder and closed his eyes for a moment.....and Gabby seemed to be slipping away towards the fountain while her owner was currently distracted and had no more treats to give.

Meadow broke off a piece of cookie and tossed it for Gozu while Aurelia fed Gabby. When the bat landed on his shoulder again he smiled He liked the nezubat. He needed one of his own. When He saw Aurelia had given out all her cookie pieces, and Gozu had his fill from the cookie he was giving him, Meadow brought out the other 3 cookies and offered one to Aurelia. "I think ginger cookies are one of the greatest cookies. Of course chocolate chip cookies are good too. But isn't chocolate bad for familiars? I like cookies that can be shared."

Gozu had enjoyed his cookie bits and cleaned himself of the crumbs, now content to nap a little while resting on the naiad's shoulder. The nezubat took a liking to Meadow, approving of his nixie being associated with him. Aurelia smiled and took the cookie offered to her. "Thanks! Yeah, ginger cookies are pretty yummy, especially when they're iced." She munched happily on the cookie while making little 'Mm-mm-mm' noises. "Chocolate chip is the best but yeah, some familiars can't eat chocolate. Gabby can't because it makes her tummy ache....right Gabby?" She looked down to where the sealpup once was only to see she was gone. ".....Gabby? Gabby where did you--WAIT!" Aurelia had spotted Gabby as she was getting to the edge of the fountain, the nixie jumping up and running. "Don't go in, don't go in DON'T GO--NOOOO!" She tried to grab her but she splashed into the fountain....doll dress and all. The sealpup thought Aurelia was playing a game and dove down to avoid her grasp. Aurelia grumbled and dove in after her, chasing her a bit before she managed to grab her. She swam back up and climbed out, holding Gabby out in front of her and glaring at her. "Bad girl, you got the dress all wet. Now I'll have to tell the caretaker and they'll get all mad at me." She carefully peeled the wet doll clothes off of the sealpup, who now looked ashamed of her actions.
