Zayana 4
The run was tough, but Zayana made no move to complain. Every time they were corrected, or her sister was ahead/behind, Zayana made an effort to push harder and support her sister. Together, they could do anything. That was the Elaria way, and that was something their parents instilled upon them since they were bloomed.
When they slowed, Zayana realized that she was out of breath as she began to gulp air. She didn't say much, but she listened as her mothers made comments and passed on the food and water. It took her no time to drink some water, and share it with Kanika.
She turned to listen to her mother as she responded to Kanika, "Half way?" That was no problem, so she laughed and nodded, "No problem, right Kan?"

Zandala Post 5
Zandala threw her arm around Lumikani’s shoulder and squeezed her closer in a side hug, an oddly affectionate gesture coming from the taller Alkidike but she was truly happy surrounded by family. She released Lumikani of course before settling on the ground and getting some jerky out for herself. She took a swing of the water and watched the Elaria, she wondered how they would fair in the water. Taking a few bits from the Jerky, she leaned back a bit.
“So how does it feel to be out of the village?” It wasn’t the mainland but it was still out of the camp they’d been cooped up in for a while now.

Kanika Post 5
Kanika hated it when her mother corrected her, she knew it was nessessary but it meant there were things she still needed to fix. She wanted to be a duel wielder just like Lumikani, so being told by her that she still had things to fix was like a jab at her ego. She wanted to be better than that, she wanted to be strong and perfect like both of her moms.
“Most definitely,” Kanika smiled at her mother before taking the water from Zayanna and drinking some of it. She took her time with it because otherwise she knew she would cramp up. So between gulps of water she took a bite of jerky and made sure to take her time chewing it. That seemed to help and she was regaining her breath quickly. She finished off her jerky and handed the water back to her sister as she rested for a bit longer.

Zayana 5
The sister watched and ate, but was eager to please and immediately spoke up when asked about leaving the village, "It's so open here, and there's a lot of animals not close to where we live. I can't wait to explore more of the island and make it our own! Maybe even to create a new settlement to expand our home!"
Oh yes, it'd be fun to make another home for them to live in, one that would further stabilize their claim on the lands so they could one day take over the entire island. As she finished, she stood and began to stretch, as she often was instructed to do when going on runs, and excitedly waited for permission to continue on.

Lumikani 5
Lumikani was surprised a bit with the hug, but quickly returned the gesture so it lingered slightly. As Zandala moved away, Lumikani silently joined the group and had her own meal and water. She listened as Zayana spoke animatedly, and watched Kanika sit in silence. But it seemed she was just enjoying the break, so Lumikani let her dwell before turning to face them all.
"Lets keep moving little ones, we will be there soon, so make sure you have enough to finish the journey."
With that, she stood and began to stretch as well, waited for her family to be ready, and led them off to the next leg of the journey. She was fast, and kept the same pace as before. It seemed to go by faster than the first leg, and soon enough the signs of their secret place were appearing. As a result, Lumikani slowed down and eventually stopped before the clearing ahead. It wasn't visable, so the girls probably didn't realize just what was about to happen.
Turning, she smiled coyly toward Zandala, and looked toward the girls.
"We felt that you both have been so strong lately. We are proud of your progress, and wanted to bring you somewhere to celebrate. This is the place where we decided to finally approach Elzira to ask for your gift, and hopefully this will be your refuge in the years to come...welcome to our secret place..." And, she took a few steps back, pushed back the brush, and revealed the stone opening, "Watch your step."

Kanika Post 6
Kanika bobbed her head up and down as her sister spoke. Yes having their own settlement would be a great achievement and one she would wholeheartedly support her sister in. Her parents had told her about the Yaelians that also lived on Yael but they were scared and weak. Nothing the strong and powerful Elaria should worry about anyways. Yael would be a far better place run by the Elaria, or at least that’s what Kanika believed.
Finally, when everyone got up she followed suit and then took off after her mother with her sister at her side. Almost there, she was looking forward to seeing this secret hideaway. She was more than happy when Lumikani finally slowed down. Did this mean they were close by? Even as Lumikani slowed, Kanika pushed forward to catch up to her so she was by her side. She wanted to see this place.
Kanika stopped and listened to Lumikani. They’d done well, she was happy. Her eyes however were glued in front of them so that when Lumikani finally revealed the opening the Elaria crept forward. She was careful, just like her mother had said and descended.
“Is the water deep?” Kanika stopped right before she had to get into the water and waited as Zandala went right into the water. She didn’t know how to swim yet so she waited for her mother to extend out her arms so she could jump into the water. She was going to try very hard to learn how to swim and fast.
Zandala hadn’t given her much instructions but she was swimming by herself soon enough with a large grin on her face. She hadn’t felt this light ever! This was amazing.
“I love this place!” She called to both of her mothers. It was cool and refreshing and she felt like she could do anything here.

Zandala 6
Zandala made sure she too corrected the girls, but it seemed Lumikani had done a good job by herself. They ran with enthusiasm and she liked seeing their energy put to good use. She was starting to recognize the area and knew as they slowed they would be there soon.
She waited for Lumikani to speak to them once they’d arrived before watching them slowly make their way down. For her part, Zandala simply went ahead and jumped right into the water. There was no waiting on her end, she knew Kanika couldn’t swim and would need to be taught. So she held out her arms and watched as the Elaria jumped right into the water. She helped her wade through the water a bit, teaching her the technique before finally releasing her and letting her swim around.
“This is a good day,” she said as she swam over to Lumkani’s side. “They’re growing up so fast,” she murmured quietly with a smile on her face. Soon they would leave home and Zandala prayed Elzira would keep them both safe.

Zayana 6
Zayana took a quick moment to creep closer with her sister, her antenna twitching lightly as tried to identify the ground to the best of her ability. It seemed deep, with the openness of the water clear. It also seemed as if her mothers had found a way to carve in steps, which meant there was an easy way to get out without needing to climb. After running for so long, she wanted to float in the water, and so she quickly pushed to jump in after her sister.
It was a bit of a struggle, but she eventually found a way to float about, and grinned as she just let the waters lap around her. Her sister and mother were around, and she floated to where Kanika was.
"It's awesome!" She echoed her sister, grinning bright.

Lumikani 6
Lumikani watched as her daughters easily jumped into the waters, learning how to swim and taking advantage of the time they had. It was late in the day, so they'd probably rest here tonight and do some more swimming before they headed back. Hopefully the girls would eventually be able to figure out a way to come back on their own when they are a little older.
As Zandala made her way over, Lumikani took her eyes away from the girls to look at her partner, "Eventually they wont need us to lead, and they'll be leading. I hope we can raise them to stay strong enough to lead their sisters..."

Kanika Post 7
“It would be nice to stay here forever!” Maybe not forever, she wanted to see the world after all but for as long as was possible.
Kanika spent the rest of the day swimming around and playing with her sister, she even learned to dive under and hold her breath for a bit. However, the day’s run was catching up. Her stomach grumbled as she felt it gnaw at her, the jerky long gone by now. Her muscles too grew tired from this new exercise and wanted to rest. The water was getting cold as the sun dipped across the horizon and so when her mothers finally decided it was time to get out and set up a tent and fire for the night, Kanika went happily.
Her body felt heavy but she helped collect fire wood and set up the tents, then she ate whatever she was handed before giving a big yawn. Sleep, she wanted to sleep soon and so she crawled into the ten for her and her sister and went to sleep.

Zandala 7
“They’re already strong,” Zandala said with a smile as she watched the girls playing in the water. “They just haven’t been able to get out into the world.” It was dangerous, but she knew soon, very soon they would become Prentices and would begin their travels around Yael.
“I almost feel sorry for the Yaelians who don’t know what’s coming.” Zandala chuckled.
The rest of the day was spent leisurely and with Lumikani as the girls played together. She floated about, talking to her partner in a low voice. Though she could feel the water getting colder and when she felt it too cool she asked Lumikani if they ought to step out to start unpacking and getting things together. When the other Alkidike approved the plan, they all got out and she got started on gathering wood while instructing the girls on how to build her own tent.
Then it was on to cooking and then eating before finally everyone was feeling the day and Zandala decided to call it an early night and crawled into the tent she was sharing with Lumikani.

Zayana 7
Zayana swam about and played with her sister, splashing and racing and moving about to pass along the day. Eventually, her body grew sore, and she didn't mind climbing out of the small waterway to set up tent and help her parents get them secure. She ate, drank, and followed her sister into their tent, curling close and smiling. She took a long moment to enjoy it, and finally finished with a whispered yawn so her mothers wouldn't hear.
"Let's come back again, and make this our special place too...ok?"
With one last yawn, she snuggled against her sister and fell asleep.

Lumikani 7
Lumikani nodded, "The Elaria sisterhood seem to want to avenge their mothers. I know that there will be some sort of confrontation before I breath my last breath."
As the night wore on, Lumikani went up to help set up their resting place, working with Zandala and making sure the girls pulled their own weight. It seemed the two were tired, but willing to work to make sure they finished quickly. She made sure both girls were asleep before putting out the fire and heading to her tent.
