”Tsunamis??” Oberon gaped at her in surprise, making a quiet note to himself that he needed to research further into Laurels being a Queen. “Man, that sounds so cool. I bet you have awesome magic,” he said with a small groan of jealousy, and then paused as though realizing he might have given her an idea that he didn’t want her to follow through with.
“You don’t have to try it on me,” he said with an awkward half grin, half grimace. “I’m more of a philosopher than a fighter,” he said, lifting up an arm to flex a not so impressive bicep, yet it was obvious that he was at least somewhat athletic, even if it was mostly lean muscle tacked on to his quickly sprouting height.
“You know, you’re pretty -” he started and then immediately paused, not really wanting to call her young because she looked to be around his age. And he didn’t want to offend her by making her think he was calling her inexperienced, because he did not want her to cause a tsunami to attack him with. And he didn’t want to suggest that she was nice, although so far she was better company than a lot of the other people he’d met.
So he simply nodded. Ending it there. She was pretty. It was a shame she was on the other side of the war and probably had no interest in normal senshi.
“Yeah, never said he wasn’t pathetic,” Oberon sighed in agreement, glad to shift topics to cover his potentially awkward observation. “I’ll have to let you know if we ever get hold of some magical superglue, though. And find someone who won’t just take and break his starseed if they manage to pull it out to inspect. Unless it’s changed, only you guys can do the whole hand in chest thing.”

"Yup!" Hydra chirped feeling pretty proud of her sphere and her magic. It certainly sounded more threatening than adventure. "What kind of magic does adventure even do?" She asked, squinting a bit as she leaned forward, hands finding her hips now. "Oh, I do. Maybe I'll show you." There was a mischievous curl of her lips, but if she planned on using it any time soon, she didn't show it.
She sighed, shaking her head in fake disappointment as she looked at him, going as far as to pout just a bit.
"It'd be fun," she said, "i promise~" Though, she struggled to keep from laughing at him when he made an attempt to flex for her. She pretended to rub her face and groan, but it was just to hide the amused grin and her desire to laugh.
Then everything went out the metaphorical window the moment he said, you know, you're pretty. Her hand dropped and she blinked several times at him, mind blanking then scrambling to find the proper response. There was a inkling that his sentence went unfinished, but she couldn't think past the you're pretty part.
Her cheeks flushed and she looked down, unsure of what to do. Sealie called her Lady, but no one had ever called her pretty before.
Hydra couldn't even focus on anything else he said and instead responded with, "you think I'm pretty?"

”Hey, adventure does - a lot of stuff,” he said lamely, knowing his own sphere wasn’t as cool as something like tsunamis, but at least it was something, right? Better than something completely useless, like blob fish.
Apparently what he’d said startled her, but he wasn’t sure exactly what part threw her off until she clarified. There wasn’t any real reaction from him, other than lifting his hand to maybe awkwardly scratch at his chin. He hoped he hadn’t said anything that upset her, especially since, well. She hadn’t attacked him and was pretty nice and he wouldn’t mind continuing to talk to her.
“I mean. Yeah. You’re pretty,” he said, giving her another look over. “You have nice eyes. And, well, your skirt does great things for your legs,” he added with a small awkward shrug.
Yes, he thought she was pretty, but he also doubted any corrupted senshi would have interest in some kid on the other side with a lame sphere.
“I’d like to talk to you again sometime, if you’re okay with that. I mean, it’s getting late and we should probably both get home. I’ve got school and all that. Maybe next time you can show me your magic,” he offered as as compensation for the need to part ways. It was only logical after talking for a while.

"Oh."
Green eyes blinked slowly when he said it again and it took most of her self control to keep the flush from staining her cheeks. Part of her wanted to be horrified that on some level, his compliments could be taken as him objectifying her but...Oberon called her pretty and he liked her eyes and...well, Obsidian liked her boots, it wasn't too hard to think that maybe her legs were part of that.
"I - " Embarrassed, Hydra looked away, unable to hide the shy, clearly pleased, smile when she tucked hair behind her ear. This was new, but she was adaptable, she just needed a moment to bounce back. "I guess you're kinda cute." She tried to say it in a way that came of casual, like she didn't really mean it even if, when she glanced at him, did think he was cute.
With absolutely no idea where to go from there, the corrupt was secretly glad that Oberon changed the subject and she felt like she could breath a little easier. "I would - " she hesitated, thinking about the fact that she was on one side of the war and he was on the other. "I'll take it into consideration." She was looking at him properly now, hair flowing around her. "Maybe...Maybe.." No that was silly and dumb and she definitely shouldn't say what she wanted to say. "Maybe I'll see you around."

Oberon stared at Hydra when she admitted that he was cute too. Kinda. Kinda cute. But that was better than nothing. He grinned and moved his hands to shove them into the front pockets of his cargo shorts, using the toe of his shoe to roll a rock back and forth underneath as he tried to think of something else to say.
“Okay,” he responded with a wider grin, because maybe was good enough. “Maybe I’ll see you around, too.” It was probably weird to be agreeing to maybe see someone who was supposed to be an enemy later, but she was totally interesting and knew a lot about the Negaverse (or at least he assumed she would know more than him), so it was completely logical to want to talk to her again.
All for science, of course.
And because she was pretty and she thought he was cute, so why not? What was the worse that could happen?
“Well… stay safe,” he said as he pulled a hand out of his pocket to lift and offer a small wave, taking a step back towards the way he came from, trying not to grin too widely as he turned around to head home.
