The Eldritch Gentleman | 25/25 | joining the Sinister SurvivorThe Eldritch Gentleman enters from the gardens, hastily repositioning his mask on his face. Though his expression is covered, his body language is clear - he's seen something that has shaken him to his core. He makes a beeline across the hall, hardly noticing anyone about, whether they are sneaking or not. He comes to a stop beside the Sinister Survivor, head slightly bowed - not the effusive, flamboyant man guests may have met in the foyer earlier this evening.

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - approaching the Burning Man
The Ivory Hall was no longer Ivory, but Nathaniel wasn't there for the decorations. He stood a little off to the side, frowning slightly as his eyes moved across the hall's occupants: Lady Melany first, tall and imposing and - well, terrifying, if Nathaniel thought too hard about it. The one called Adoelle, whom he still wasn't sure about. Off in an alcove was the Sinister Survivor, though Nathaniel was utterly wary of him. And at last, the man on fire sat along to the side.
It was to the latter of these that Nathaniel sidled up, trying to look as calm and collected and relaxed as he could.
"Hello again," he said amiably. "Would you mind if I joined you for a moment or two?"

Shun caught Melany's gaze, as well as the growl from the fox nearby. Though his look lingered for a moment, he just turned and left the hall without any fuss. It wasn't worth it right now.

The sinister survivor barely glances at the eldritch gentleman before holding out one hand for him to take. He shifts over, making room, and drapes his arm over the gentleman's shoulders. "It'll be alright," says the survivor, lowly. Melany looks at the fox, at the tiny mask, and seems to decide her presence is not completely onerous. Instead she seems quite content to fume over Shun's presence before her. "Of course," says the burning man with a gesture. "Have a seat."

[25/25 | EVE]: foxloafing to schmooze on the spinel ladyIn clear defiance of Ezra's quip about staying a fox being unhelpful, Eve was going to remain four-legged for a little while yet. She padded her way carefully closer to Melany's side, taking efforts to make herself appear comfortable that she hadn't made for the burning man: hunkering down into a gray-toned loaf, and yawning pointedly to show off her teeth. I'm a moonwalker. I would like to share my company with you for a while on those terms. In exchange, I'll help keep the riff-raff away.The brief look she offered Ezra was undoubtedly smug.

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - chillin or heatin?
He took a seat close - but not too close - to the Burning Man, Nathaniel sitting himself gingerly, careful not to disturb anything. Nathaniel smoothed fingers across the leg of his dark trousers, said, "Thank you," and then was quiet for a moment.
"Do you mind if I ask you a question?" he said hesitantly, Nathaniel's tone cautious. "You warned me once of the Sinister Survivor. Why was that?"

Jack Hawthorn | 25/25 | chatting up sinistro guest starring eldritch
Nodding, he ducked into the alcove proper and began to take a seat opposite the man. Before Jack could speak, however, they were joined by a third who seemed as though he had seen a ghost--or whatever equivalent therein, seeing as he himself had just tried chatting to a ghost rather casually.
"Did something else happen?" he asked, a frown evident behind the white raven mask. "Another doppleganger incident?" Melany didn't seem to be the foci this time at least, although apparently someone distasteful had drawn too close.

alois scholz (unmasked) || 25/25 || damn that b***h is cold Alois makes no effort to look toward Melany. He looks instead to her shoes, her opulent shoes, which shine with the same exquisite beauty as the rest of her. She looks untouchable there, to him, and he finds no reason to defy this appearance. At the word worm he grits his teeth, but otherwise reacts not at all. The bottle is taken, and he feels the burden lift. „Yes, Lady,“ he says at last and excuses himself from her before his presence could do more harm.
Instead of leaving, however, he crosses the handful of steps to stand by the Burning Man’s side. He spares another glance to the odd fox yet says nothing to it. It wears a mask regardless; it’s safe enough here.
„Father,“ he starts with his carefully managed accent. „The night is growing cold, and you’re, well… Not.“ He shrugged, unable to phrase the statement delicately. The practice of it fell away with ease. „I know I still haf’ duties to do, but can I stick around for a few minutes? I won’t butt in.“shibrogane not looking for info bits so no rolls

"I'ḿ ͞ņo͝t ҉su҉re ͢it ẁi͞ll ͡b̢e," he says softly, but, realizing they have company, stops himself short of whatever he was going to say next. He looks Jack over and seems to find him wanting. "Not͞h̛i͞ng̵ of yo̧ur ̕con̕c͝ern̶," he assures him.

Ashton Carver - 25/25 - Keeping an eye out Ashton had been, as was her wont, fuming quietly in the bathroom until her rage cooled down to a point where she could maintain her composure. And the hall had changed while she was away, because of course it had. Of course. Of course things changed in the thirty minutes she'd been taking a look inside her mind and hurting those things until they'd stop trying. Well. Nothing was ever easy, was it? "Milady," she curtsied to Melany, with a polite little finger-wave to Eve. Smile. Smile. Polite - perfect - flawless.

Melany: 25/25, ok, I'll allow it. Melany looks conflicted for a moment, an eyebrow just barely arching. Then she turns her attention to a more immediate concern: the stranger approaching her. "Can you not see I'm concerned with other matters," she snaps. "There are others to answer asinine little questions." Ezra: 25/25, chillin, for realsies "Isn't it obvious," asks Ezra, who seems a bit snappish himself. "I'm sorry. I don't feel myself." He nods curtly to Alois, gesturing the young man over to a teardrop-shaped chair. "You did well, to apologize," he says. "I know it doesn't come naturally to you, dear boy." The sinister survivor: 25/25, chattin "Not a doppelgaenger, no," says the sinister survivor. "Something more unexpected, I don't doubt. These nights are hardly ever pleasant past the initial niceties."

A pause, and then he said cautiously, "Does the, er...title...he bears have anything to do with that, by chance? Survivor?"

Ashton Carver: 25/25, wow rude "I don't want to ask any questions," Ashton says, smile thin. "It's rude to sit close to someone without saying hello, isn't it?" Her words are carefully measured -- she clearly doesn't want to anger Melany, in the woman's own domain -- but it's not working as well as she'd like.

Maybe it’s out of place for me to say, but…“ He claims a seat in a teardrop chair and scoots it closer to Ezra. He wasn’t lying about the nighttime air. „She’s too pretentious. And ze fact zat she had to call one of her own to discipline me for her… She reminds me of a cardboard cut-out.“
He looks to the moon high in a distance and draws a sigh. „You know, you never struck me as ze type to enjoy a party. I can’t imagine it’s much fun to just be sitting on a stool ze whole night. Did you want somesing to drink?“shibrogane still no info prying / persuasion yet

Aren't you supposed to be scaring off the trash?Ezra: 25/25, chillin, for realsies "He survived something much worse and much more long ago than a ball," says Ezra to Nathaniel. "You're right," says Ezra. "It isn't your place." But he doesn't disagree with Alois's analysis, either. "I'm fine. There is nothing to be concerned about; I won't allow anything worse than that to happen to you."
