______Personal Information
Biography: Everyone knows the story of Persephone and Hades. The legend is widespread in lore throughout most of the world. The story of a dark god of death falling in love with a beautiful goddess of fertility and spring seemed to overjoy human populations. But the story was...not entirely complete as humans told it. There were portions that were false, and beautified for the benefit of humans. Part of the truth of the situation of the union was kept hidden by the gods, on purpose, and other parts...were kept hidden by time itself.
The couple was indeed married, and Persephone did live with her spouse for half the year, and then resided with her mother for part of the year, to tend to her responsibilities on earth. What the stories left out, was that the union did not last eternally. The Greek gods, like all the others before and after them, enjoyed a season of popularity than began to fall into a sort of decline. As that decline happened, their powers faltered. They began to fight among themselves, as their pride and arrogance increased. The Underworld, and other domains were in chaos. War broke out among the gods, and among the human world.
Everything was in such chaos, and Persephone had been caught in between, like many others. Although a goddess, she was of the earth. As a child of the earth, she could be injured. And killed. Persephone was killed by Poseidon, who thought it would give him control over both her mother and the Underworld, in one fatal swoop. All it did was throw things into further chaos. In truth, her death had been one of so many. And it hadn't been torturous, but it hadn't mattered. Her mother had adored her, as had others, and in the end it had only made her mother more determined to fight. In the end many perished. That's what happened when powerful beings lost their senses.
But, power like theirs didn't just vanish. And some things were meant to continue. Persephone's power sought out a new host. Yes, it took....centuries, but eventually her soul found a new body. In time Persephone reincarnated as Peony, a human girl. She was mortal. In this life she had limits. Her body was...weaker. Much weaker. And she didn't have any knowledge of her past, or anyone to protect her. But she did have peace. Her mortal parents loved her dearly, and this new world was so different from the last she'd been part of. It was...a gift. At least for a short while.
When she was only a small child, Peony began to attract attention. Flowers never withered around her. Those who were around her most seemed blessed with the good fortune of large families and green gardens. Not to mention her beauty, and undeniable talent to get along with others. It's not like she ever did anything crazy, mind you. But it was just enough that when slave traders came looking for targets they saw her as one. A pretty child with a sort of...glow about her. And in in the end they chose her. Thankfully, they did cover her eyes when they killed her family. After all, it doesn't do much good to leave your slave a home to return to.
They took Peony far away, to a distant market. She was traded multiple times before she was a teenager. By then she'd mostly forgotten the name of the town she'd grown up in. That's what the slave trade did to you. It stripped you of memories. She forgot what her parent's house looked like. What her mother's name was. All of it. But...that was okay. She was comforted by strange dreams of golden fields and strange songs that she couldn't remember having learned. And for some reason scrubbing floors or cold cells didn't seem so bad anymore.
Personality: Warm and loving, and very loyal. She cares for others, even if they dont care for her.
Likes: The warm summer sun, fresh fruit, and music.
Dislikes: Water. For some reason she has an extreme fear of drowning. The cold, especially when it slips into the cells and makes it hard on all of the slaves.

Never forget what I did, what I said,
When I gave you all my heart and soul.
Morning will come and I know we’ll be one,
Cause I still believe that you’ll remember me.
She mourns beneath the moonlit sky,
Remembering when they said goodbye.
