"I've found a few, but they like to go REAL deep. So you have to go deeper. into the water to find it. If we haven't found any by the time we hit all our marks, would you like me to do a few dives to see if I can find you a few, Captain? Of course, only if you give the Orders!" Xewai figured that was the nicest way to put the fact that the girl was probably too short and too weak of a swimmer to make where the oyster rested. It was more than a little deep, it was a good 30 second dive down to where they lived, plus a few seconds to gather as much as one could, then about a 20 second rise up.
She didn't need to know all that though.
"Well... I know that some of the ugliest stones are the prettiest on the inside. But to get to them, you have to crack it open on a bigger rock too. It takes alot of force to do so, but then you can polish it once it's open and it looks AMAZING! I also know that my particular group of people I work for when I don't work for you uses alot of the stones gathered here at this beach for their jewelry." A wet hand came up from under the surf where it had been gathering stones and such to point at the piece that helped to keep his ponytail in place. It was rather interesting looking, for the most part, though the stone itself was rather ugly, muddy browns and golds and greens. It wasn't really meant to stand out, just to be a piece that people could recognize IF they were looking for it.
"There's also pieces of pretty glass in the sand right after a bad storm. Sometimes lightning will it the earth and where it struck is dark and burn, but also with shimmering pieces of glass."

The younger girl nodded, completely enthralled by what he was saying to her. She knew about polishing rocks and stones. Her daddy had told her about doing that. She just needed to be big enough to do it. Right now her hands were small and all the tools were just way too big. He spoke of a group, and that immediately caught her interest. Maybe he had a whole team of treasure hunters?? That would be incredibly exciting to her. "So your group does this sort of thing a lot? Do you have a whole team to dive for you? Why was I not invited I wanna treasure hunt more!"

"No, not really. I mean, we have a few of us that dive for pearls every now and then, but they do that for a hobby more than a profession." A few more things were pulled up out of the sand and placed in his little companion's bucket before he started to walk to the next mark.
"Hehe, if you wanna come next time, you can be our lookout! Watch for storms until you're a strong enough swimmer to reach the bottom! But like I said, my group is more about... Rescuing people! We sneak into buildings, into places where we shouldn't be, and save people who are captured by bad men." That certainly was the simplest way to explain it, but the Buhawi truly were so much more... But to go into detail might be a little too much on the dark side so he'd mention that only if she asked.

"Rescuing people? From what?" The little youngling seemed a bit confused by this. She had been in Matori all her life and never needed rescuing that she knew of. Why would other need to be rescued? Unless they were needing rescued from a wild animal or the sea. Whatever his group was doing sounded interesting enough, but it wasn't treasure hunting. That was what her little heart was set on, and as much as she enjoyed his company she didn't really feel like she was of the rescuing sort. "Maybe I can help some day! Though of course treasure comes first," she explained, holding up her bucket for more.

"Bad men, little one. Not everyone in the world is kind and fun to be around like you and I. Some people want to hurt others, or hold them and make them work for nothing. They take away their freedom and it's my organizations' goal to give that back to them. It's no fun being forced to work all day and not be able to do what you love, like adventuring or fishing or even treasure hunting, right?" Were the youngling older, Xewai would have considered giving her a more straight forward answer. It wasn't something to be ashamed of but it wasn't something Xewai wanted to weigh heavily on Liylasa's mind.
"If you wanted to help, we'd be honored to have you! But I'm afraid there's no real opportunity for treasure, so It's okay if you only wanna help occasionally! We'd still love your help! But for now, lets get this treasure, shall we?" He picked up the last of the shiny wet stones before removing the wrappings from his arms and waist.
"Okay, you wait here, I'mma see if I can get you a pearl or two or a whole bunch!" He gave the youngling a thumbs up before heading deeper and deeper into the water, then disappearing below it's crashing waves.

Oh how Liylasa wished she were taller so she could follow after Xewai. She was an impatient little thing and missing out on diving was not something she was happy with. He promised pearls though along with other treasure. She could....accept that. Learning about his organization was an interesting thing as well. She hadn't realized that there were people still fighting for freedom, but if his organization was still active then she supposed there had to be. Waiting patiently for him, she scrambled over to the edge of the water and sat there until he popped his head back up. "What did you find, what did you find??"
