She watched as he darted one way, her antennae giving a twitch. V'demhe couldn't say she liked any of her children going where she couldn't see them but yet again, she didn't want to hover. So instead she shook her head with a sigh. Then a few minutes later she heard him yell. Instantly her hand went to her blade but when she noted the laugh in his voice she relaxed. "You are trying to make my heart fail, little ember." Came her chuckling response. Still knowing there was a place to beat the hot weather was comforting. So she walked to where he was and smiled at him. "This looks nice."

"I am not, I'm trying to find a place to swim." He rolled his eyes a little and started to strip off his top automatically. It was a process, considering he had quite a few layers on, but he eventually got it and hung it up on a branch by the lake. His pants, stayed on. There was some burn marks on his shoulders, but nothing like the ones that were on his face. "Going to join?"

When she got there Klaas was already taking his shirt off. "You run off then shout for me. Yes, you are trying to make me have heart failure." Dem laughed even as she spoke though. With the invitation to join she shook her head but moved to sit close to the water so that she could at least enjoy it a little. "You go ahead, little ember of mine, I will watch over you." V'demhe had noticed the scars on his shoulders but once more she said nothing. Her gaze didn't even linger on them.

"I am not!" He huffed and turned to look at her before she said she wasn't going to swim. Aw, sad. He frowned at her and just threw her a salute before wandering into the water. He toed off his shoes and stepped in, slowly moving into the chilly lake. Ah, it felt so good! He shivered and turned to look at her, smirking. "Come on, Dem! Let's have fun. Let's go swimming!"

She watched him as got into the water and she saw the shiver that made it's way through him. When she noticed his smirk she gave him something akin to a warning look. "Oh, you better enjoy that water while you can. I will make you jog the rest of the way if you even think about splashing me." She did have kids. Dem knew all too well that they liked to cause trouble.

"I'm not a splashing kind of guy! Come swim with me!" He huffed and put his hand on his hips, waiting for her. "Or I could try to pick you up and drag you in!" Not that he could, but Klaas thought the threat sounded good. He laughed openly and then shrugged before slipping further into the lake and then disappeared, diving into the water. When he surfaced, he spit water out like a fountain and then waved at her again. "Come ooooon!"

Uh-huh. She gave Klaas a look again then settled down once he continued on his way into the water. She had just enough time to remove her weapons and then she saw him pop up out of the water. As he tried once more to coax her into the water she shook her head at him. "Someone needs to keep watch, little ember." After all the girls would be joining him soon enough so he would have plenty to play with.

He huffed at that and shrugged, going swimming while he could. Then he'd be watching the girls in the water while Dem watched for anything happening on the shore. He took his hair down and just soaked for a while, floating on his back, staring up at the sky. "I've gotta go back to Oba one day," he said to her, hoping he was loud enough she heard. "See my parents... I think I'll try to be a healer there! I'd ask if you want to come with, but you've got your own to think about, right?"

She was busy watching the surrounding area when her ears and feelers twitched simultaneously. V'demhe turned her head to look at Klaas and take in what he said. So the boy did want to be a healer. A smile danced across her lips and she nodded. "Klaas, you are one of my own. If you want me to be there while you train then I will be." Of course she needed to finish her trip to Chibale first. "I need to visit my homeland but after that I can go to Oba, if you want me there."

"Of course you gotta go finish the trip your now on." He straightens himself and gave a shrug, stretching out. Gods did it feel good to be in water. It was like his skin was crying out for moisture despite having the sweat. He brought a handful of water to his face, scrubbed it and then looked back at her as water dripped from his nose. "But yeah. I would love if you met up with me at least once, you know?"

"At least once?" She clucked her tongue at him and shook her head slightly. "Oh little ember, If you do become a healer then I imagine you will see me quite often." After all, she did have the scars to prove she needed a healer. There was the long jagged scar on her back that ran from shoulder blade to hip and the scar on her chest where she took an arrow to the chest at almost point blank range. Oh yes, if Klaas did indeed heal people he would more than likely end up healing her a few times.

He snorted and laughed at that, wandering out of the lake now. His footsteps were heavy and pants were weighted down, but that was fine. Once he got out of the water fully he was able to walk normally instead of like a lumbering giant. "I guess that's true. I'll see a lot of ...a lot of people in general. Everyone needs a healer at some point in their life." He smirked and plopped down on a conveniently placed rock. "So.. Have your kids talked to you at all about... what they wanna do when they grow up? I used to hear other kids hound their parents about being knights or mages..." He took on a fond tone as he talked, pushing his braids back from in front of his face, letting them stay plastered to his back.

She chuckled as he flopped onto a rock. Amusement lit her face and she nodded. "Some of them have, yes. Masika wants to be a mystic. She has magic in her just like her father does." And while it made her sad that her daughter wouldn't be a strong warrior like her she could still accept her choice. In fact she was proud that she was taking after Virain. "Valharii thinks she wants to be beast master. She loves the animals that we have in the house." Dem chuckled and shook her head at that. It took more than love to train a beast but since Valharii was still a youngling she had all the time in the world to learn that.

"A fine beast master she'll be!" Klaas laughed openly at that and nodded. He was honestly trying not to think about leaving them all. He needed to. He really did. He had to get back to his parents and let them know what he's decided to do with his life. Glancing back at her, he gave a helpless shrug. "Who knows what the future has in store for them. I'll keep an eye out when they start wandering." He half felt like their big brother, in some ways. "They'll be in fine hands!"

She laughed with him and shook her head. "I told her she should be a rider instead. Poor Maha hides under the table to avoid being ridden." Dem always loved watching her kids play in the house. Which was another reason she was upset that Virain couldn't make the trip with her. V'demhe wanted more beautiful babies. "I hope so! I will get you the best teacher there is if you want it." Another thing that he would benefit from. Her motherly doting. The best for her kids and nothing less.
