The elder paused. The youth was showing his age for sure, she sighed as she retook her seat. "I wish I could say that was the case, Tumelo." she played with the end of her long braid. "Not everyone reacts to kindness in the same way. Some might be more open to it, others might have too much bitterness." She smiled softly at him. "Sounds like you need to see a good healer. I heard that some people react to pollen and such in negative ways. Just something with their immune system..." she explained. She didn't have much knowledge with that, though Hulis was taking an interest in various magic things. Perhaps he would take an interest in healer things as well.

That was not something he wished to hear... He wanted to have some sort of hope in his heart to think that maybe his mother would change, even just a little bit. But that wasn't going to be the case... Was it? His distress over such a thought was evident as he just looked a little helpless at this point.
Then there was the mention of a healer and his head hook vigorously.
"N-no ma'am, I-I'll be okay. I don't have the money for a good meal most of the time... If I spent money on a healer then my mother wouldn't be able to eat. Then she'd be so upset and be unable to venture."

Eirlys' eyes narrowed. "Not all healers would demand payment...some are able to provide for themselves and do things out of kindness." she sighed. "Though, it is entirely your choice to see one. Don't put yourself to the side for the sake of others. You'll wind up killing yourself in the end." She hummed a little as he mentioned his mother. Seemed like the woman might be a major issue for the lad. Far be it from her to interfere with a parent and their child however. She didn't feel up to trying to change him, she's seen his type before. A child just looking for his parent's love. She glanced down to her lap. "Next time we meet, and I have faith Bergchi sent you to me for a reason. I'll have a infant for you..." she smiled.

"If you know if a healer who would be so willing to help one who has nothing, that would be wonderful. My mother suffers from frequent headaches, and I'm sure that plays a part in her irritability, so it would be nice to see if a healer could assist... And I would let them take a look at me too, Lady Eirlys. You've been very kind to me already, I would not want your kindness to go to waste." There were times where Tumelo felt like he had not earned someone's kindness, rather often, in fact. But it seemed wrong not to do his best to appreciate what was done. Even with something as simple as a hot meal, he was sure he could find some way to put this newfound energy to work... Maybe he could find a quick day job to run in the hours left in the daylight.
Tumelo scrunched his nose up at the thought of an infant. What was he to do with a youngling when he was barely older than that? It took a moment before it finally clicked, and his eyes went wide.
"You would... You'd really have a companion for me?" How would he be able to feed it? How could he care for it if he was always on the verge of keeling over himself? No. It didn't matter... He wanted it. He wanted it more than he had wanted anything for a long, long time... It wouldn't matter if he had to give up his own meals, he would swear that the creature would be safe in his care.
"I would like that very much, Lady Eirlys! I... I promise that if I do have a companion of my own, they would be well taken care of!"

Eirlys thought. She didn't know any healers personally. Though she was sure she could ask Makani if he knew of any...? She nodded to the youth with a chuckle. "When I find them, I'll be sure to give your description." She knew they'd keep their eyes peeled for a soul in need. There were a few with tender hearts like that. As she thought over what type of infant beast to give to the boy she glanced at him. "A beast will respond to the condition of their Master, your beast will grow to accommodate you. Tumelo, if they think your not taking care of yourself. They will seek to provide for you just as you provided for them." she explained as Devi brought Tumelo a small bag. "Take that, its surplus provisions that they gathered on our walk out to this point." her eyes held no room for argument.

"Thank you, Lady Eirlys. Surely the gods will smile down on such kindness." If there was any small belief that Tumelo clung to was that the gods rewarded kindness, even if those who received it only gave back scorn. Atleast that way it seemed like all that he did wouldn't go to waste.
To think that animals could be so kind and considerate pushed Tumelo even more towards the idea that he would love to have one of his own... He absently began to stroke the Aldabuck behind him once more before being given a bag of provisions, utterly surprised but not refusing.
"You are too kind... So kind... The world seems a bit of a brighter place to know that there are such kind souls in it.. But I do not know what I can do to repay this..."

Eirlys held up her hand to wave the idea away. "Repayment is not needed. Just cultivate that love for beasts and we'll be square." she said with a warm smile. Seeing a budding love for beasts was heart warming to the female. Devi licked Tumelo's hand before skittering away as sounds of unrest was heard from two of the bigger beasts. Eirlys chuckled. "Off to be the boss. As usual." she stayed sitting where she was. Content.

"Yes ma'am.." Tumelo's heart felt so light with the animals treating him so kindly. And of course because of the kindness of Lady Eirlys... But it was so short lived.
"TUMELO!"
Before he could say another word a woman's screetching voice screamed out his name, and he was up in an instant. He knew who it was.. And he knew he couldn't keep her waiting.
"Thank you so much! I... I promise I will see you again! I don't know when, but I will! And I look forward to it!"
"TUMELO, GET YOU SKINNY LITTLE a** HERE!" Again her shouts cut though his piece like a knife, and he bowed slightly to the woman who still sat before him. With one last smile, and a quick ruffle of the Aldabuck's head, he dashed away. Back to the coldness of the world he was used to.

Eirlys felt warm and content. Up till she heard that...shriek. She couldn't even call that a voice. She waved as the poor lad ran off. Glancing down to Devi she said a simple observation. "That was a earthling right?" The beast gave a disbelieving look.
