Tara was panting now, really feeling the effects of the fight. Another arrow was shot, and, thankfully, hit. She rubbed her sleeve across her forehead, wincing but having to wipe away some of the blood. There was just one left but... if this kept going...

The bird swooped back for another hard strike, and Juliet yelped, but this time, when she swung her staff, her aim was true.
"Get it!" She said, doing her best to knock the bird into the path of the other woman's arrow.

When the other woman managed to hit the bird, a stray metal feather sliced Tara's cheek again, and she felt... everything hit at once. She felt queasy, dizzy... and desperately needed to rest. But the bird was still alive. And though she hated to lift her bow up one more time, hated the idea of striking it with yet another arrow...
The exhausted young woman lifted her bow, shut one eye, and aimed. Her body stilled on her exhale... and Tara loosed the arrow. The woman had struck the bird into perfect position, the arrow striking true and straight through the creature's heart. It was dead before it hit the ground, and Tara all but feel to her knees at the exhaustion.
"H-holy... h-holy s**t," she whispered, shivering a bit, startled by the amount of strain she was feeling on her body. Was... was that the benefit of Artemis' protection? Being able to handle all this? It was alarming to realize what she'd just put her body through, as it was to... actually feel it now.
"A-are you o-okay..?" She looked to the other woman, wide-eyed and... well. Her eyes were red-rimmed. Not crying. Yet. But definitely needing to head indoors.

Juliet was breathing heavily as the adrenaline of the fight drained out of her, and she hit her knees for a moment. Still, she had the presence of mind to carefully collect some of the apparently-toxic-bird-crap into a a small vial and tuck it in her jacket - one never knew when one could use something poisonous.
Or something.
Slightly breathlessly, she looked over at her companion.
"Hi, I'm Juliet. Most of my friends call me Jules, though."Quote: LOOT:61-75: Poisonous Dung: You manage to collect a vial of the vile stuff. It can thrown at an opponent once to poison them, dealing 1 damage for 3 turns. After this it is consumed and leaves your inventory forever.

Tara managed a weak smile up at the woman--both for the introduction, and seeing how she collected some of the dung as well. "Nice to meet you, J-Jules. Um if, it's ok to call you that. I'm Tara." She took another deep breath, trying to calm herself, before slowly getting to her feet.
Her head spun a bit, and she... she couldn't bring herself to poke at the bird's body again. Instead, she motioned tiredly towards the hotel. "We should head back. I've got first aid supplies, if you need them... oh I hope this place still has hot water." She didn't mean to whine. She really didn't.
But you see how you feel after fighting creatures like that!

"Yeah, it's fine," Juliet stood up, walking over to the other woman. "It's nice to meet you, Tara. Let's...let's go somewhere warm. With first aid supplies. That sounds really nice."
Literally anything but being stuck in this storm where there might be more birds sounded really nice, actually. "And maybe stay there for a while." She added as an afterthought.
No more bird hunting for her for a while.
