Talltale watched Synne with some amount of amusement as he watched her hop up and down. His bright gaze rose and fell with her constant movement, his brown tail twitched whimsically behind him. Tilting his head he wondered how long she would keep jumping.
Jumping was something all b'alam where gifted with, but only some where allowed to fly. She wasn't using her wings however, she had the jumping down just fine. Jumping and taking flight was something Wind b'alam could do and Dark b'alam could not. Their wings could make there own lift, and that is what she was lacking.
"Jes." Timber answered with a slight laugh in his voice. "Try using your wings, Phen." The Tahtll smiled, "Stretch dem out, like dis." The brown b'alam's folded brown wings slowly stretched out and angled themselves to show the Nahtlil. It still hadn't occurred to the wind b'alam that the beautiful Nahtlil with the unique set of eyes could not see.
"Then Jump, with all you go." Timber shifted his body to stand, slowly he crouched and he made his own little hop into the sky. "And after yoh do, flap dem 'ard" The Tahtll, kindly instructed, "Once or twice shall do-or till you don't feel da blanket under yur paws." The words left the b'alam softly, and he waited for her to try the method before he would see what more he could help her with, and see what changes she needed to make to become air born. If all else fails, there was a cliff she could hop off....and by cliff, Timber meant ledge.
It wasn't too far away...

Despite the wave of confusion that washed over Synne was still convinced that Talltale was blind as she was. She had deduced that whatever Talltale was trying to “show” her would be revealed if she simply listened and truly mulled over what he was saying long enough. Though this time she had to admit his instructions managed to lose her to a degree. Use her wings? Jump with all her might?
She tried to “watch” what the Tah was doing, and by that she really was just trying to twist her head in the direction he was positioned in. To hear better what he was doing. Unfortunately- or perhaps more fortunately depending on how you wanted to slice it up, Synne’s face wasn’t looking at him with perfect precision. She was looking in his general direction, but her eyes would never meet his. They had no need to after all.
She felt the wisp of a breeze from Talltale’s takeoff brush against her head. Was he above her now? He had taken to the air? Well if he had done it so easily she certainly could too! Even if his instructions for flying were vague and odd…
Stretching out her side limbs, uh, wings as far as they would go Synne practiced moving them up and down a few times before she would do her spring-jump take off. Then, with a concentrated look of her determination Synne launched herself up into the air. She quickly pumped her wings up and down like Talltale had advised and although there was perhaps too much enthusiasm in her rushed flapping she had succeeded! She wasn’t falling down to the grass-blanket anymore!
With exasperated breaths Synne attempted to convey her excitement. “Talltale- I… Ha, I, whew… I am not on the grass blanket anymore! I am “flying!””

Timber's swift paws touched the ground after his little hop into the sky. Watching Synne stretch her own wings and turn her head, Tall-Tale made the subtle observation that she wasn't really looking at him anytime she turned her head to him. Timber's brown ear turned in a ponder as he noted to himself it was rather strange. Yet, it wasn't something he hadn't seen before-Wind Waker was always preoccupied with his music, and he didn't always look at someb'alam when interacting with them.
Watching the Nahtlil leap in to the air, Timber's ears perked as a smile slipped across his maw. She was doing it.
"Jes you are." Timber's dark tail rattled a little with excitement. She was a great student!
"Well done, Synne!" Timber's rich accent cheered. She was no longer on the grass blanket! And on her first try too! That really was impressive. Green eyes watched the nahtlil beat her wings for the first time, how she kept herself a loft, yet by her deep breaths it was strenuous. Which was normal, she was using her wings for the first time.
"Okay, so try landing." Tall Tale suggested. "Let yor paws touch the soft blanket again. stretch out yoh wings and allow yor self to drop." The b'alam instructed. Thinking it was best for her to know landing was important...
