"I got it into shape as soon as I heard the store was going to be closing. I think I've got it all right, but thanks," Jordan demurred politely. He had copies in the messenger bag slung over his shoulder, but he didn't really want to be pulling them out for a stranger, or mostly-a-stranger. He shifted a little at the explanation of the next card, vaguely uncomfortable for reasons he couldn't quite pin down. "Yeah, I guess that's good advice," he mused. "I mean, I try not to take it out on my friends anyway, you know? Pisses people off."

"I know some places that are hiring-" As he sat on a street corner and read fortunes for spare change. Maybe not the guy for career advice, but you never know! Wil drew the next card, "This is your strength. What you have going for you. The Tower." The tower looked a bit threatening, lightning and fire, and people jumping to what looked like their inevitable deaths. "This tells you that the sudden destruction of what's comfortable and familiar may be painful, but you will come through a stronger person. Even if it feels like you are lost and confused, you should perservere. To look backwards- maybe move back home or in anyway retrace your steps for convenience- that would only be bad for you."

"Yeah? I wouldn't mind a pointer." On one hand, the guy was doing fortunes on the street for change. On the other, that didn't preclude him knowing about places that were hiring. Maybe he just preferred to do this kind of work. It couldn't hurt to have a few business names. Jordan's eyebrows went up again. "Seems like kind of a strange card for strengths," he commented. "But perseverance, I guess. I could've moved back for the summer," he said thoughtfully, "but I stayed to take some extra classes. I guess that's along those lines."

"Yes. Being able to recognize things just as setbacks and keep moving," Wil nodded, "That's the the strength." The next card, Wil flipped and chuckled a bit, "Your weakness is... The Strength card." The blonde shook his curls and placed the card with the rest, "In this context it means you have a weakness towards leaning into the negative. You maybe let bad things affect you too much, perhaps you even have self control issues when it comes to digging into your vices as a crutch." Wil didn't know if this was true, but it was what the cards were telling him. "So the message is to stay positive... remember that perseverance will bring good things!" prolixity when i swore i tagged this and didn't -____-;;;

Jordan laughed. "That seems like it got reversed or something." But he listened more seriously to the interpretation, nodding. "Persevere and stay positive, don't let the negative get to me too much, huh." He didn't comment on the part about self-control issues; it might or might not be something he was concerned about, but he wasn't about to discuss something like that with someone he didn't know.

"I think I'm sufficiently prepared." Jordan put on an appropriately solemn face.

Wil would have asked for a drum roll but let that one go. The card was flipped, "This is your likely outcome, or at least a clue as to how things could go for you." The card was a woman in a chair with a crown and scepter. "The Empress. Right now your insight and awareness to your predicament is at it's highest," Which made sense if he was asking for a reading about it, "Listen carefully to advice and guidance and you can fully embrace this heightened state to your benefit. Make definitive, strong decisions. Don't doubt your choices, and so long as you are flexible to things you have no control over, you'll make out great in the end."

"Sounds pretty positive overall," Jordan said, nodding. "So, stay flexible and positive, and persevere, and don't let problems bring me down, huh? Seems like good advice." And it had been an entertaining few minutes, regardless of whether there was any mystical influence at work on the cards he'd drawn. He hesitated. The guy had said that he knew a few places with job openings, but should he ask? He was taking life advice from a guy telling fortunes on the street. But it couldn't hurt, right? It wasn't really any different from looking for hiring flyers or something like that.

Wil gathered up the cards with a small smile, glad to always give a good reading. Of course for something simple it had been major arcana and maybe he had a way of swinging things to read in his benefit- The guy seemed to pause a minute and Wil glanced up through his shaggy hair. "Wait- I'm feeling something." A finger pressed to his forehead, "My third eye.." He closed his eyes, reached into his backpack, "You are wondering if you can take the suggestions of a street corner mystic-" which was a really generous term for what he was, "-with no shirt on." He pulled out his Magic 8-Ball and shook it with a spooky 'hummmmmmmmmm', before he flipped it, "It is Certain!" proliixity he was getting that 8-ball in there somehow

Jordan started to say something, but the dramatic appearance of the eight ball startled him into a laugh. "I guess that's not too tough, huh? Well, the 8-ball knows, I guess. You said you knew somewhere that's hiring?" He sounded a little sheepish.

"Yeah, a lot of places," Wil gathered the cards back together, folded them back into the silk, and put them in his wooden box again, "School's starting up soon again so there you will have school options or a lot of the businesses losing summer employees." Wil pulled the smoke from behind his ear and lit it. It smelled herbal, not like a cigarette, but not that signature illegal scent either. "There's like restaurants and stuff- My boyfriend is cook at Darlene's but they just hired a bunch of people." Wil took a drag and blew it away from Jordan. "You know Darlene's right?"

"I gotta fit my schedule around classes too," Jordan pointed out, "but I'm sure I can find something that'll work." His eyes went briefly to the cigarette, but he made no comment. He hadn't expected it to be illegal, not right here on the street, at least; he had nothing against certain substances, but it would have been the pinnacle of stupidity for someone to light up right out in the open. While he didn't have a large enough sample size to make an accurate judgment as to Wil's intelligence, he didn't think the guy was an idiot. "I've been there a couple of times," he nodded. "It's pretty good."

"I think they are hiring bartenders and servers only right now-" Wil scratched his head, glancing up and down the street. "There's a bunch of bakeries and stuff with only a couple employees. The radio station is looking for people always but you may be some DJ's bitchboy-" Wil laughed a little because he knew a guy who interned on the morning show and all the stuff that lady Wendy put him through. "There's a cool quiet bookstore too. Like old school bookstore. If you're into that sort of thing. And a teashop that I think only has a couple employees but it's small."

"No bartending experience, so I guess if I got in there I'd be serving." Jordan listened, taking in the list of possibilities. He brightened up a little at the mention of a bookstore. nodding. "Okay. Thanks for the heads-up and the reading, man," he said, and unfolded himself to get up, smiling. "See you around, huh?"
