"He wasn't supposed to be long. A couple of weeks at most. He was getting things for a relative," she continued, not wanting to go into too much explanation about his cousin and other family matters. "Really I just want to make sure he isn't in trouble. If he is and has no help I would hate to think what would happen." Shaking her head, she moved to pick up some more food for the Alki.

"But this is supposed to be a fun thing and we're supposed to be getting food for you two. Not worrying about my issues."

"Thanks," she smiled, jumping at the chance to change the subject and not dwell on her troubles for the moment. It really was all she could do to keep sane for the time.

"Ah yes we have several bakers around these parts! I can show you to them if you'd like. I'm sure they'd be interested in selling their wares to someone other than a Matori. Not sure if your people have different tastes than us."

"Oh of course I can do that. I really should have thought of that beforehand I apologize. Not really thinking too clearly." Kani admitted, nervously brushing her hands over her skirt. Motioning for the woman to follow her, Kani led the Alki to a small little stand close to the center of the village. While it was the smaller of the two bakers stands she knew of, she always thought that they had the best bread around. She struggled to small talk the baker, hoping that he wasn't too nervous about the presence of her new friend. After a bit of convincing though he seemed agreeable and she was able to purchase what she had sought out to do.

"Okay! Got it! What is next on your list of things?" Even if she was sort of doing her shopping she didn't mind. She enjoyed the chance to help someone else out in her home village.
