He staggered back, dropping the flowers to make room in his arms for her onslaught. He held her as she went limp, his voice failing him.
"Aye..." he managed, his voice a whisper, the most he could manage with the knot of feeling in his chest, "Aye, Iroia, it's me.
And then he hugged her tight, drunk on the sight of her, the feel of her, the warm smell of her hair and skin. "I'm back..."

Kaalnia watched, grinning from ear to ear at the energy of the reunion. This was exactly what she'd hoped for, this was exactly what she'd wanted. Sure, she hadn't needed the flowers. Votzhem was the real gift here.
But she was sure that they helped.
The pink Raoti was unimpressed by the display and meandered over to Kaalnia, chewing nonchalontly on a flower. "Hey, Pin." she said, picking up the dense little creature and cuddling it to her, "Mission successful, don't ya think?" she kissed the Raoti before putting it back down. The Raoti didn't care, but she was enjoying the show.

Iroia gasped. She wanted to bury her face in his neck and fall apart again, but she didn’t want to take her eyes off his face.
“Vosh, you’re alive, you’re here and you are mine...where did all the flowers come from? They are beautiful...is that a roati?” Her eyes were going to cross she was sure, so much sensory input that she never thought she would have again. It was him that fresh air and man smell that was Vosh was there, when in doubt believe your nose. Then she did bury her face in his neck. He was so warm, and beautiful in his quiet Voshy way. This was indeed her man. “Kaa,” she croaked and reached her arm out to her sister/best friend. She needed both of them there with her in that moment.

Wait, Iroia was reaching for her, too? Kaalnia had reached for something sweet and flavorful to munch on as she watched the sweet, wonderful, adorable show, but apparently, she was to be part of it.
Well. Kaalnia never said no to a big bear hug. "Sure!" she said, somehow managing to envelop both of them in a hug. "We're all home." she said, warmly happy.
"And the flowers were all me." she added as an afterthought. She would have winked, too, but she was too busy snuggling both of them close. It was nice to have this family together again. It was nice to be home.
Everything had worked just as it should.

"I'm home." he said, managing to not sob wetly into her shoulder. He glanced, blankly, at Pinpin, and traded an emotion-filled (one of which was gratitude) with Kaalnia. "A-aye, that's a Raoti..." he said, turning his attention back, completely to her. He kissed her forehead, her face, anywhere his lips could reach. His eyes burned with tears.
He'd missed her. He'd needed her.
He didn't even mind when Kaalnia joined the hug. Somehow, it felt right, and he needed her support because, he felt, he would fall down under the weight of his emotions and relief. He was finally home, back in Jahuar, back in his wife's arms. Finally. Where he belonged.
He laughed, an open sound that, perhaps, masked the escape of joyous sobs. "Not... not all you, Kaalnia." he protested, giving her a weak little shove, "I was the one holding them, you know."

Iroia laughed, an action which quickly turned into a huge sob as tears and snot ran everywhere, this couldn’t be happening but she could feel them both squished as they were to her, the emotions doubling her strength momentarily. “I will seriously kill you guys if you do this to me again. Maybe draw and quarter you first.” She felt like her feet would never touch the ground again as she buried her face on whichever part of Voshy she could reach while she had Kaa’s neck in an armlock keeping the other woman close. Her heart felt like it was going to explode with love. Too much, too much and yet sooo not enough she was just grateful she hadn’t started to growl. Because a growling, snotting, crying and laughing Iroia would be a lot to handle even for two alks. Iroia let Kaa go before she choked the woman off before concentrating on branding her husbands lips with her own. He was more to her than any mere label could explain so husband would have to do. She rolled the manly musky taste of him over her tongue..she had missed this so bad.

"I'm counting on it..." Votzhem replied, holding his own against the hug. The flowers in his hands fell to the ground as he gave in to her kiss - Kaalnia's presence be damned. "Mmm... Iroia..." he mumbled into her mouth. He could feel himself blushing, the tips of his ears burning with warmth. It had been so long since he'd been embraced by a woman, too long since he'd felt his wife's touch. "I... iroia, I..."

Kaalnia wasn't sure if Iroia meant it or not, and decided to give the woman the benefit of the doubt and laugh. Once released, she took a few steps back, grin widening as she saw that the reunion was progressing interestingly. "Heh." she exclaimed, picking up the Raoti that nosed curiously at her leg, "C'mon, Pinpin." she murmured, petting it.
"See you two inside!" she called, tromping familiarly into the house, Raoti in tow. Best to leave those two lovebirds to whatever they needed to do, right?

Iroia didn’t really notice when Kaa left, her world had since been consumed by Votzhem and she let him wash over her like a tidal wave from the ocean. This, this was life, this was home, this is where she was meant to be. Here in his arms for all eternity. He was home, he was safe, he was hers! She would never let him go.
She moaned into his mouth, the use of words for once escaping her. He was covered in flowers so romantic, so beautiful. She loved it. He smelled like sweet perfume and of himself, a heady mix that had her mind careening out into space. Her hands explored everywhere, memorizing angles and curves that she had never ever hoped to forget.

Votzhem barely noticed his Sister leaving, himself. Perhaps he should have - he usually did. After all, he and Kaa had barely been apart for a very long time.
But he'd been apart from Iroia for longer. Too long. His hands explored her, re-memorizing the form he had never quite forgotten. His kisses slipped from her lips to her chin, from her chin to neck, from her neck to the crystals at her shoulder, tracing their smooth, raised spirals with his lips and tongue...
...
Hours later, tangled together comfortably in a pile of bruised flowers, miraculously undisturbed by returning shifters, Votzhem kissed her again, soft and warm, but tired. He was out of practice. It occurred to him that there was something he had forgotten to say - not 'I love you', he'd gasped that to her several times over the course of these dreamlike hours. No, something more mundane. "Hello..." he murmured with good humor, languidly snuggling closer to her.

At first, Kaalnia amused herself by grinning broadly and resting on her laurels in the cool shade of the house. Her plan had gone perfectly. She'd done a good job. Wasn't she an awesome sister? Yes. She was the most awesome Sister.
However, a solitary Kaalnia is soon a bored Kaalnia. Pinpin entertained her for a little longer, letting her run her fingers through his fur and play with his snowshoe-like hooves, but after a while he retreated somewhere quiet to take a break.
She played with a piece of string, netting it around her hands over and over. She read over an old scroll she'd brought with her until her eyes blurred. She flopped on a chair and catnapped. Finally, having run out of things to amuse herself with, she located the Shifter's store of fermented beverages and began to drink a little.
And then she saw the larder, and had the best idea ever. "This is going to be the best welcoming feast ever!" she said to herself. She began to cook up a storm, not particularly caring that this wasn't her kitchen at all, or that her cooking skills were okay at best.
She tasted a bubbling meat soup thing with a spoon and grinned. "Aww yeah, that's good!" she said, grinning. When the two lovebirds (she snickered at the thought) got back, they'd have some good grub to eat, that was for sure!

Iroia snorted at his languid greeting, but quickly melted, not having the energy for once to be altogether fiesty..at least at this particular moment in time. Sighing happily, she planted another kiss on his lips, happy that one could not wear out ones lips, cause they had sure tried, “Hello.” She answered before snuggling closer. The shifters still hadn’t entered her mind until they dragged themselves inside to see a smug Kaa with her pot of blessed food. “Oh my, thank you Kaa, I..well I wouldn’t have had the energy...you might have to feed me yourself anyway.” She grinned. She too was out of practice and apparently somewhat out of shape.

Votzhem rose from their 'bed' sheepishly, clothing himself enough to be decent (though layers still remained shed - Jauhar was hot, and he was warm enough, thank you, without needing his coat.) He folded them in his arms and set them near the door. The extra clothing would stay there until further notice. He would have to meet the people she lived with, set up a life with her that had been too long delayed, get a room...
This was really happening. This was, really, happening.
"Hey there, Kaalnia." he said. He couldn't help but grin."This looks great. Lets hope you remembered when to boil, and when to grill!" he teased.
"You might need to feed me too!" he said, even as he fed himself. His hand twined idly around Iroia's, even as he smirked at his Sister, obviously teasing.

Kaalnia smirked. "We're about due for payback on that one, eh?" she said, a little drunkenly. He'd fed her for how long while she was healing? It was hard to remember. "... But it looks like you don't need it." she said, giggling a little. She loved happy endings.
She thrust a spoon at Iroia, laughing. "Why don't you ask him to do it, eh?" she said, "He's got practice!" She plunked down on a stool of her own and served herself a sloppy bowl.
"Isn't this nice?!" she said, leaning back in that incredibly comfortable way that she had. She clapped, once, as if applauding herself. "We're all together again!"

After handing her spoon coyly to her husband who somehow still had use of all his motor skills, Iroia spent the rest of the night leaned into her husband, not really noticing when the shifters came back beyond a mmmf and a nod.
Her kids however~
