There was a paused, pregnant with anticipation as Cas waited to drop the chorus. He stared first at Rose, then slowly swept his gaze toward Marisol... and then, he lifted his hands and dropped them with flair befitting a mime. "If I could fall! Into the sky, do you think time would pass me by," he belted. "Cause yoooou know I'd walk a thousand miles if I could just.... see.... you. TONIGHT!" Probably not quite in tune. Probably a little louder than it was meant to be sung. But that hardly mattered to Cas as he beamed and swept his arms wide.

An obvious attempt was made at not laughing, though Rose did allow a smile, amused. She sung softly with him on chorus, changing her octave to match his, charmed by his exuberance. Still holding the majority of the folds of her dress, she risked ruination by wrapping her arms around Cas from behind while he was still wet with lake water, touching her cheek to his shoulder. "It's always times like these when I think of you and I wonder if you ever -- think of me?" she purred around him, on her tip toes to be able to reach around his broad shoulders.

Oh boy. The second verse. Cas remembered it even less than the first, but he did his best, clasping Rose's hands with his and pulling her close. He leaned his head toward hers, singing, "Cause everything's so wrong, and... I don't belong, living in your precious memory." A little uncertain but he'd gotten lucky with those lyrics. With Rose's arms still wrapped around him, he started to sway, bringing her with him as he rocked from one side to the other.

"Well done!" she whispered into his ear, pressing a kiss to his wet temple as a reward, squeezing the hands that held hers. Rose pressed her cheek to Cas', singing sweetly, "'cause I need you, and I miss you, and now I wonder..." And to continue to help - so the marine could join in as he remembered, if he so chose - she took the second chorus lead. "If I could fall into the sky, do you think time would pass me by?" Smiling so much her dimples practically hurt, she leaned her head more against his, swaying with him. "'cause you know I'd walk a thousand smiles, if I could just see you - tonight~" She managed not to grin, but just barely, murmuring, "Take the bridge, handsome. I'll cover the refrain."

He was probably going to mess that bit up, but he went for it anyway, singing every bit as soulfully as young Zac Efron with the silly bowl cut in High School Musical, locking eyes with Marisol and reaching out arm out for her. "And I, I, don't want to let you go. I, I, drown in your memory. I, I don't want to let you go..." That was definitely not right. He paused a quick moment, eyes tilted toward the sky, wondering which line he'd messed up. Then he shrugged. "I, I, don't..."

"Don't want to let this go," she sung helpfully to finish, squeezing him with the words. True to her offer, she picked up the rest of the song, gazing at Marisol with a smile. "Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and I'm home bound." She slid around from Cas' back to in front of him, leaning her back against his chest and holding out her arms to Marisol. "Staring blankly ahead, just making my way - making a way through the crowd." She held the note with a bit more power, curling her fingers to invite the ballerina to them. MoonRazor with edit whoops

Chuckling approvingly at the scene--the smile hadn't left her face since they started--she didn't need much encouragement to join them. She rocked her weight back onto her feet, balancing on the pads of her toes, as she rose from her spot on the warm sand. Behind her, the borrowed towel had been folded carefully and the songstress's shawl was carefully tucked between the fluffy lairs. Bouncing into the wet sand, slowing when her feet hit the water, she applauded the duo before extending her arms to take their proffered hands. There was something better about being pulled into the fold, she found, as she joined them. Not that she'd ever turn down a serenade but being in the moment... "That was truly amazing," she complimented, sincere. It might not have been entirely on key from one half of the duo but the enthusiasm more than made up for it. And, really, Rasmus hadn't been too far off when he'd dubbed Rose a siren.

He'd settled one hand on Rose's hip, perching there light and careful, ready to move away if the touch was unwelcome, his face just a smidge away from nuzzling into her hair. With the other, he took Marisol's hand and helped guide her toward them, reeling her into the fray. "Wait, wait, wait, now that you're here," he said. "If I could fall Into the sky, Do you think time Would pass us by? 'Cause you know I'd walk A thousand miles If I could Just see you... Tonight." He let go of her hand to push a piece of hair back behind her ear, thumb brushing her face ever so softly, lingering a moment, then dropping down to take her hand again.

She did not move Cas' hand nor indicate it was unwelcome, using the gentle hold on Marisol's hand to also draw her closer, her free hand echoing the marine's on her hip by settling upon the ballerina's opposite one. Chuckling with delight, she barely resisted pulling the woman into a hug, her gaze fond upon Marisol as Cas made his moves. He was a smooth one, but it seemed neither she nor the dancer minded all that much. "Only the best for you," she smiled around her words, glancing up at the man behind her. "That was admirable, Cas. I am thoroughly impressed, I wont even require you to strip for such a gallant effort."

It seemed she had spoken a smidgen too soon. The last words of the song were sung as she joined the two. A touch against her cheek, light and soft, like a breezed echoed the subtle pressure of the hand against her hip. Of it all, the strangest thing was how it felt like home. The thought was absurd and she pushed it away. "Perhaps, to return the exquisite performance, I will have to dance for you two one day," she decided. "It'll be hard to top Cas's moves though," she winked.

"Oh, good, because I'm only a short hop away from wearing nothing in these shorts," he said to Rose with a laugh, and then to Marisol, "I do try." A wide grin settled on his face. He was neither the most gifted singer nor the most elegant dancer, but he'd be damned if he couldn't at least be entertaining. "But I don't think either of us would complain if you felt inclined to dance. You're the one who does it for a living." And similarly, if they ever needed anything... well. Shot, he supposed. Or disarmed. He would do it.

With a gentle amusement, Rose finally gave in and leaned away from Cas enough to gather the shorter woman into a mindful embrace - mindful, because Marisol, for all her fire and strength, was short enough that the hug fairly buried her in Rose's chest. "You needn't reward us for holding up our end of the losing bet," she hummed the words softly, smiling down at the ballerina as she let her go, "but if you'd like to perform for a few friends who are most eager to see you in motion, then by all means. Likewise," she glanced over her shoulder to Cas, "I feel I'm the lucky one, having seen you both in little more than a hope and a prayer and I've managed to remain unscathed. I feel like I owe you something." She paused, adding thoughtfully, "With clothes on, mind you. Anything else is behind closed doors."

"And you succeed," she replied, with a wink, to the man with a squeeze of his hand. There was surprise--very welcome, it turned out--as she was pulled into an embrace; she laughed softly, breath warm, as she was pressed into the other woman's chest. Sometimes being so short had its own perks. "Expect an invitation, then, soon, to see a performance," she promised as space appeared between them. "As for what you may owe us, speaking for myself, your company has been far and away more than enough, my lady. Wouldn't you agree, Cas?"

They'd all gotten much closer much quicker than Cas was used to. Theirs seemed to be a friendship born out of a shared enjoyment of each others' company, and less out of necessity, as had been the case for many of his old bonds. Those weren't any less important to him, and he could think of a few men who he'd ask to be his groomsmen if he ever got married. But those were still, somehow, different. A welcome difference, to be sure. "I can't think of any better reward," Cas said in agreement. "Except, maybe, accompanying us for dinner. Cool kids' table."

Rose turned on the ball of her toes so she was able to look between the two, resting one hand on Cas' arm ( very nice, she noted), the other still upon Marisol's shoulder ( also very nice). Her blue eyes were calm, calculating, and after a moment, she seemed to settle on yes -- she liked these two very much, and even if they departed the Prytaneum tomorrow, she would want to keep in touch with them. "How very kind of you," she let the two go and readjusted the folds of her dress over her arm. "I'll do what I can to be worthy of such a table seating." Turning her gaze to Marisol, her smile ticked just a touch warmer. "I would sing for you while you dance, if you'd like. Just let me know what you'd prefer, and I'll make sure it's arranged for our date." Call a spade a spade. She'd already been treating this meeting like some sort of teenage date she never had - laying out the word didn't feel strange, and it at least gave her something to look forward to.
