It wasn’t so long ago that the Iron Phoenix was called in regularly to deal with threats deemed too dangerous for all but the most seasoned students of the academy. Before that day on the moon, before the school even existed, Death used the strong souls at the monastery--mostly the Iron Phoenix, but some of the lesser Phoenixes as well--to crush his opponents quickly. Having little to no susceptibility to madness, kishin and witches alike were obliterated by their honed souls.
… But times change, and rumors spring eternal from the cracks in whispering concrete. Now only the more bookish students even knew what a Phoenix Monk looked like, let alone what it was they were after. To those at the school Illo was the kooky, phantasmal janitor who had koans to offer most and silence for those who need an empty hall to think in. These times were populated by stress and talk about serious missions and hopes and dreams, just like normal; but there was always a foamy curl of gossip and speculation that was left as these talks rolled off the tiles of Shibusen.
Soon Illo was in the center ring of a gossip circus, flipping and jumping through fiery hoops in the minds of excitable freshman and bored seniors alike. And this was before he almost blew up the school! After the incident people were talking. The halls were a bit more dusty, but no one seemed to want Illo back for that reason. They wanted answers. Suddenly people were talking about the Phoenix Brotherhood again. Those with the resources informed those who did not, and together rumors of an attack began to spread. Their hands tied, Shibusen’s intelligence sector was called to get to the bottom of this while using whatever means necessary to quell the burning curiosity of the students.
Enter Mira Naigus. The best at what she does, even if no one knows exactly what that is. Four days after the explosion she was ordered to gain whatever intel she could on the Phoenixes. Using their collective powers, having sensed the event, the monks at the monastery beckoned for the universe to make the resolution to this as swift as possible, no matter what.
For Mira this meant finding a certain file, one that had been buried in moth dust. It held a full report on what had happened on the Moon thirty years ago. She was just about to read it, when something came to her attention. A familiar presence called her from her work, a rare instance indeed. She scrambled, looking for something to do with the file. It was a momentary lapse in judgement, but she thought it best to pass her work off to one of the more trusted graduates, not considering them the same as the those chatty freshmen. Yata Garasu was near...
Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death" Early dusk: chrome all around with orange and gold highlights, long twisting shadows in the breeze, panting and cicadas laughing. The sun looked about as tired as Violet, both having spent the bulk of their energy for the day. Xuza slipped her sword through dimensions unseen and smiled.
"That'll do for today," she said, and then turning to Vivienne, "... But there is one more thing." The winged meister motioned toward Violet. "I think you should try wielding you sister again. Try shooting a few rounds at some dummies." Out in the darkened half of the field were some practice dummies, the kind which had kept Yata company before a certain cataclysm brought him to Xuza. They were far, but Violet's focus was hopefully much sharper, giving her more accuracy.
While the two were at it Xuza went to sit by the Wavelength Meister with something like pride stapled on.
"Freshman, am I right?" She said, silently chuckling.
"... Hey Yata," Somehow all of that vanished then. "I was thinking. You're supposed to be some kind of hero in the future, right? I mean... I was technically there." She was fiddling with her hands a bit now, tying knots in air, apparently. "What if... Well, what if you joined my team? Something tells me we're supposed to work together, you know?" She glanced over when she was done, curious and nervous at once.
Yata might not have gotten to answer though. From the West side of the field a woman clad in white and secrecy stamped heelprints into the field with tempo. She came right up to the two, cutting off their conversation. She handed the Three Legged Crow an old leather-bound file. She was quick to leave, barely saying anything but to make sure the job is done and to only let the most capable students know of the operation.
”What does it say, Yata?” Asked Xuza leaning in.
Those involved with the DMA heard some of the gossip too. Amara Lovisa, Yako Tsuki, and Yosuzume, honorary member of Paradox’s team of witches, would come to know of the legend of the Man on the Moon in their own way. Amara was definitely aware of Illo’s incident, and it wasn’t unthinkable that Yako knew about the monk and Xuza as well, being that she was with Ranto and had worked with Xuza in the past.
This is how it starts, the turning of a page heavy with dust and weak from sun and air in a book that should have been closed a long time ago. And as we switch off onto another gear in the clustered machine of time and “what if,” mistaking it for the ticking over of a simple tooth, these souls, thrown together by chance will venture deeper into the dark than any other assortment; chasing the unseen, seeing all they can and looking beyond into the grey, they find a reflection so carefully crafted it can’t be recognised. Can you find him, the Man on the Moon? Or is it simply a heavenly reflection in an earthly pond?
(Please RP as normal. I will direct when necessary. As it is you are free to go to anyplace in the locations section.)

 ✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ Xuza, Violet, and Viviene ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Training Field ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝ Training❞
As the sun began to set, and the days training had slowly wound down to an instruction for the twins to practice shooting the dummies that were now shrouded in darkness, the serious look painted on Yata's face was washed away and replaced by his usual smile. There was still room for improvement for Violet and Viviene, but they showed some promise. Yata couldn't help but remember his first year at the academy, when all of the students were still green under the ears and could barely even fathom the level that they would end up being at by the time they graduated. Most of the students paired up with weapons and meisters respectively just to get that extra leg up on the rest of their peers, but the Three-Legged Crow wasn't really able to do that.
He had tried to partner up in the beginning, but he had little to no control over his wavelength. Every time that he had tried to fight with his would-be partners, his fighting style would push their resonance out of sync and the two wouldn't be able to work together during the battle. After a while he had stopped trying to find a partner and instead focused solely on improving himself. Yata had gotten into countless fights where he was overpowered easily by the opponent, who always had a weapon partner of their own. Those were the only duels he participated in. Yata would refuse to fight anyone who didn't have a partner. It was sort of a way to prove to himself that he didn't need a partner, that he could rumble with the best of them on his own. After one particular fight, Professor Stein had pulled him aside before he returned to class. If it weren't for that, Yata would never had reached the level that he was at now. 'Thank you, Stein,' he thought as Xuza sat down next to him.
"Give them time. This is the first day that they've been on this training field. I'm sure that they'll turn out to be a pretty powerful pair in the end," Yata said, then turned his head towards the dark haired female whenever she said his name. He listened as she once again mentioned his future self, and that that he was supposed to end up as a hero of sorts. The idea still made him question what it was that he was going to end up doing that would give him that title. But, Xuza didn't stop there. She went on to ask if Yata would join her team. He blinked in surprise at first.
"Your team, huh?" Yata looked up at the darkening sky. His silhouette framed by the vibrant hues of orange and pink and gold from the setting sun. The expression on his face was hidden in the shadows that the light was casting onto him, but his body language gave away that he wasn't going to decline. Rather, it said that he was happy and content, and more than ready to accept her offer. For someone who had spent all of his time training and finding ways to better himself, Yata had never sat down and thought about joining any sort of group or even making friends. It wasn't until he returned from his year long mission that those facts had started weighing on his mind.
Yata turned his face towards Xuza, ready to answer her offer, but jumped in surprise whenever he watched an old looking file break into his field of view. Taking the leather-bound folder in his hands, he watched as the woman who had handed it to him walked away silently. The only words she had spoken to him was a command to complete the assigned job as well as to keep it mostly discreet. Confused as to what she meant, Yata blew what dust was on the front of the file off and opened it, skimming over the first page. Not quite reading it word-for-word, instead opting to gain a basic grasp of what was inside.
"What in the world......?" Yata muttered under his breath, turning the page and skimming some more. He laid the file onto his lap and sat for a moment. His eyebrows came together in a look of confusion. "It talks about the moon. The event with the Kishin Asura thirty years ago. But..... What it says in here is different," Yata relayed to Xuza, pointing at the pages in the file. "These pages are talking about a guy who was on the moon. They call him the Iron Phoenix," he looked at Xuza then, his expression still conveying his confusion. Having gone to the DWMA, he knew about the moon incident, but he had never heard of the man from the file. "Does that name ring any bells to you?"

Vιvιenex& Vɪoʟeт Beʟʟeʀose Nobody can stand in our way to the top!... ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ "Thank goodness." Viviene gave a sigh of relief as Xuz declared the training day over, yet trembled in anxiousness as the dark haired woman turned to face her. She pulled Violet upright and hid behind her, the twin still pretty cautious of the two new friends, or rather teachers as it seemed like. Violet gave a nod to Xuza as she looked at her sister for confirmation. "Would you do zee honours, Vivi?" The meek twin shifted into her weapon form, Violet accurately twirling her sister's trigger guard before holding the weapon with both hands. Taking aim at the dummies out in the dark parts of the training field, the girls got to work, Violet shooting the targets out in the field with pretty good aim. While some did miss their targets, the female's accuracy was still good for a score of at least a B. Viviene's bullets left a light blue trail behind them, the opposite of her sister's which would be on display if the time ever came for her to enter her weapon form.
Just as Violet was beginning to get some practice in, a strange woman appeared and handed Yata some documents about...something. Unable to resist, Violet carefully held onto her sister, still in her weaponized form, and snooped closer just as the male was busy explaining what the paper said. Something or other about the moon and some event that happened that they had no knowledge of. "Zee moon?" Violet repeated while looking at the other two and then giving her reason for eavsdropping. "Stuff happened, it looked important. Sorry Madame and Monsieur. But what about zis "Iron Phoenix?" The preppy twin asked, curious if either of her two companions had heard anything. Viviene remained silent on the matter, quietly pondering what was going to happen because of all of this. They had just arrived at the academy as well. Shame they could not stay.
The Heartpiercer Twins will show them all...

Xuza Uriel: "Angel of Death" (Can I get everyone to quote everyone on each post? I think it'll make this go smoother. I have the full list, so just copy that or whatever. Thank you~)
"Hmm..." Xuza was leaning into the conversation Yata was having with himself, trying to plug herself into whatever he was reading. Thankfully he had questions about what he was looking at.
"The Moon?" Xuza actually took a step back, setting a hand on her hip and straightening her spine out from her hunched position. "That's pretty dated, right? Thirty-some years ago..." But then a title was mentioned. Xuza made little half-syllable sounds, stopping herself from guessing something wrong as her mind bubbled up like crisp cola. She held on to that last one, though, and shared it after Violet and Vivienne the Quiet came.
"I may be making this up, but I could swear they used to call that Illo guy the Iron Phoenix." She turned to Yata with a worried look. "Do you think he has something to do with this?" The first thing that came to mind was finding Illo, but she knew how dangerous that was. Still... She wanted to crush Paradox so bad she'd do it anyway. A triumphant step.
"I think it's pretty clear what we have to do now," she said widening her stance and looking at the friends she'd gathered here today for some chill training. "We're gonna find out who or what the Iron Phoenix really is. Yata, quick! What does it say?" Xuza and the group would be busy with that for a while. The language in the file was a bit cryptic, making use of a few codes. With some analysis, though, the pieces would unearth themselves, there for the Angels to put together. The term 'Center of The Earth' was used repeatedly. Xuza also mentioned she knew a witch positively entranced by the moon.
"So," said the winged one nonchalantly after some discussion, "where do you guys want to start: try and find the 'Center of the Earth,' or go see our witch friend? ... There are other options, I suppose."
Those around DMA were sensing a powerful soul rushing through the halls, pumping the whole place with heat and anger. This wasn't totally atypical, given the place was a school full of demons and witches; all of them certifiable threats in their own right, a rival worth as it was dangerous. Allies though, that's what's key here. Amara Lovisa was, as all evidence should suggest, was an ally to good (nightmare to you!), and therefor was more the former... Hopefully.
What students were around knew to give her room. One could tell those without resistance to heat by the simple fact they were inching up to the sides of the hall like frightened grubs whenever she approached. Powerful witches were often confused for dangerous ones; toss in the fact that Amara had trouble controlling her powers, a likely excuse, said the occasional critic, and suddenly there was a giant neon sign over the head of the pyromancer which read "I'M NOT EVIL!" so loud it just begged suspicion.
Today she was angry, also a terrible sign. If it was on DWMA's campus rest assured this would have been a code-red matter; and while not going so far as to employ actual force, suspending her and such, the staff would keep a lose, itchy mental grip on their pieces. And forget about it in the current context. What with the meltdown on the training field, Illo's banishment, all that happening only four days ago, it was enough to make some people trigger an alarm when seeing Amara stamping through the halls of DMA. The Witches' Guardian Corps. were obligated to respond first.
(Idk if this is good enough, but nudge. whee )

Yakō Gōkana Tsukikage The Luxurious Moon WitchFormer Captain Of The Witches Retrieval Corps Yakō searches the DMA's library for more information on the Iron Phoenix. Decus had informed her that Yosuzume was on her way and Yakō would fill her in on the information during thier report to Ren. Finished with her research Yakō returns to her work. Even tho she'd graduated the academy she was still called in from time to time to teach or help out. It seemed that a student seemed to be giving the academies teachers a problem. Not a disciplinary problem, but it seemed the staff wasn't equipped to handle the students power. From the files she'd been given she wasn't surprised in the least. The student in question came from The Lord of Cinder Adelbert Varick bloodline,. The Lord of Cinder had been one of her favorite warlocks to learn about when she was just an apprentice. Very few ancients bloodlines like hers were still around, and Yakō could be the only one able to teach her. More importantly she'd been at the DWMA during the incident and there was a chance she knew something of value. Yakō could feel the young witches sweltering aura coming toward her and has the hall cleared and the alarm is shut off. She then clears her throat and speaks. Amara Lovisa. I am Yakō Gōkana Tsukikage, your new instructor, please reapply your soul protect.

Yakō Gōkana Tsukikage The Luxurious Moon WitchFormer Captain Of The Witches Retrieval Corps No need to apologize. It was an honest mistake. Besides you'd think a school designed for demons and witches would be better equipped to handle a little temperature change. Well now that we've finished the introductions how about we go to my office to get better acquainted. Yakō smiles and waits for Amara's nervous fit to end to hear her answer. She'd encountered students like Amara before; shy, nervous, and deadly if not trained properly. Even so the blonde witch was confident she'd be able to help the young which master her powers. After all she probably had more exsperiance than anyone else at the academy.

 ✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ Xuza, Violet, and Viviene ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Training Field ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝ Training❞
Yata's look of confusion deepened then, looking back to the folder in his lap. "Illo is the Iron Phoenix?" Yata picked up the folder and continued skimming through to pick out bits and pieces that he could understand. "That doesn't make sense... He doesn't look old enough to even have been around during the moon incident, and even if he was would he have been able to fight Asura? I don't think that this is talking about Illo," the Wavelength Meister looked up towards the sky as he thought about all of the facts that had been given to them, and how long ago the fight with Asura had been. Xuza was right, it happened a little over thirty years ago. Even if Illo had been around at that time, based on appearances he would have only been a small child. Then again, looks can be deceiving.
'Could there be more than one Iron Phoenix?' Yata thought, though he pushed off the idea as Xuza prompted him to read more from the file. After several minutes of trying to decipher the language using what little hints were present, they found the term "Center of the Earth," and a little while after that they found the same term used plenty more than just the one time. The Three-Legged Crow sat the folder down and pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes tight. "This is giving me a headache. There's so much left that hasn't been translated yet, and I have a feeling that's where the most important bits of information are," he said before closing the folder and standing up, using one hand to hold the file and the other to pick up the metal bat that had been laying beside him.
"I think our best bet would be starting with that witch you mentioned. Maybe she can help us piece this whole thing together before we do anything else. Also, she might know more about the whole "Center of the Earth" thing," he responded, still thinking about who the Iron Phoenix really was, and even more so about the possibility of there being multiple people with that name.

Yakō Gōkana Tsukikage The Luxurious Moon WitchFormer Captain Of The Witches Retrieval Corps My my this place hasn't changed abit since I was a student. Brings back so many memories. Ah here it is. Yakō stops infront of an ordinary looking wall. From her jacket pocket she produces and odd looking crystal. After a moment the crystal glows a warm gold hue and Yakō uses it to create a symbol on the wall. Returning the object to her pocket Yakō watches as the wall forms a intricate looking door. She opens the door and steps into the room. It was warm and cozy, various awards and pictures adorning the walls. Beautiful music played in the background and the place seemed to have been kept up rather well considering the time Yakō spent away. Yakō gestures for Amara to sit on the couch and moves to fix something to drink. Feel free to try some of the sweets on the table. Thier all new additions for my Cafe.
