Walking to where Shadiya stood, Dex smiled and nodded. Though his cheeks burned and stomach fluttered like crazy, he was determined to make some sort of romantic statement while here. "You're right... It's beautiful up here," he murmured, raising a hand to gently touch Shade's chin. She sure was a sight...
Okay, enough of the awkward! Practically falling over himself, he sat down and set the basket next to himself so that he wouldn't accidentally drop it and break anything. "So, what did you bring?" he asked quickly, chewing his lower lip bashfully.

Shadiya froze at Dexurn's sudden touch. Was he about to do...to....cheeks flushing the girl almost stumbled as he suddenly back away. I suppose so much for that idea. She almost reached up to touch her lips as if in memory. So much for being casual and not awkward! The girl almost beat herself up at the thought.
"Bring?" Shadiya blinked in confusion before realization hit, "Oh! I brought just some bread, cold meat, and fruits...something light to eat since it's so warm lately." She opened the basket and plucked one of the round fruits from its vine, "Here try it..." The girl reached up with her fingers to plop a fruit towards Dexurn's lips, "Good right?"
Of course she should have thought about these things, but it was hard not being herself. So Shadiya stayed strong even though her hand lingered near his lips one more second before pulling back. "I mean....isn't it nice and quiet?" She looked away quickly with a flush, "It's been a while since we've been alone like this after all..."

Seeing the offering coming at his face, Dexurn automatically accepted it. The brush of finger tips on his lips though made him nearly forget about chewing. Cheeks hot, he ducked his head at the same time that Shade looked away and nodded. "It's good," he agreed around the fruit before actually chewing.
It was true; they'd both been quite busy with training and making money for their next trip... they hadn't really been able to take time for themselves. Especially.. after what had happened in Oba... What he'd said there. He'd meant it completely... but he hadn't said it since. Was that bad? "I.. always feel better.. when I'm with you," he said, picking up a bit of bread and meat to chew on. Small phrases... Don't try anything big or complex to screw up with.

"I - uh..." His simple comment was enough to set her cheeks ablaze, "I'm glad to hear that. Me...too." She smiled and glanced over towards him, "I think if it wasn't for you I wouldn't know what to do. So thank you for sticking with me." She brushed away a stray strand of her hair before reaching to grab a bite of her own food, "I just hope that the future isn't so troublesome for us. I'm really sorry...but I'm so glad you came after me."
If he hadn't...the thought curled her stomach. Not just because she would have been trapped, but because without Dexurn the girl felt as if she truly would have been lost in this world. Since when had she come to rely on him so much? It truly was a confusing thought - but at the same time when she peeked back at him Shadiya couldn't complain.

Golden eyes finally rising again, Dex found it a little easier to relax. She was happy being with him, and he knew she meant it. That was what mattered. More times for bigger steps would come later. For now.. he would enjoy what they had.
Taking a deep breath, he shifted over until he was sitting right next to Shade. There, he put an arm around her to hold her close against his side while they ate. A silent show that he wanted to be by her side... and confirmation that the rescue had been worth the risk.

A warmth filled her belly as she scooted next to Dexurn. Perhaps it was a little of the sweet drink that they drank, but the girl felt so content and happy. A small sigh of contentment escaped her lips as she coddled up next to the Matori, "So...what next?" She found herself asking before flushing lightly.
"I mean...we had our picnic and we're still up here...oh look at that view." Her face aflame, Shadiya chastised herself for being so easily flustered. With all of the things that she had been through and did...how did falling in love become so complicated? The stories always seemed so easy and instantaneous, but reality was so different - it truly flustered her.
Still, at least the view truly was gorgeous. And there was also the stream that followed down the hill and through the cliffs into the small pool were others threw pebbles and trinkets for good luck. A wishing well - a lover's spot and also a place of hope and peace for many others.

'Next?' A light blush colored his cheeks, a thousand 'next' options running through his head. Thankfully, Shade kept talking, keeping his mind from wandering too far. With a small smile, he gave her a small squeeze and leaned forward to begin tidying up the picnic mess. Thankfully, there wasn't too much to deal with. The perks of a picnic.
"I think an after dinner walk is in order," he mused lightly. "Get a close-up look at that view we've been looking at." Stuffing the basket, he looked over to Shade and smiled. "What do you think?"

Perhaps her suggestion of 'next' wasn't too far from where his thoughts wandered. Her own flush deepening the girl shook her head. What was wrong with her lately? Sheesh! Almost like she was some lovesick girl...Well I am pretty much lost for this guy I suppose. The thought was enough to bring a small smile to her lips. She truly couldn't ask for anyone else.
Blinking at his question the girl nodded her head and focused her wandering mind, "I uh...definitely agree." Reaching over she squeezed her arm around his side in a small hug before slipping away again, "Let's go then?" Smiling Shadiya held out her hand, "Ready whenever you are, Dexurn~"
