”Let’s just say I have a job that I can do any time I want but usually do it at or around night time.” Tom replied a small smile on his face and still following the teen. Being a negaverse agent might as well have been a job with all that they expected of you.

“I’ll just take the same.” He couldn’t imagine what else they would put on corndogs other than the regular condiments, but then again, people did like their hot dogs covered in various things, the same thing probably applied to corn dogs, though those didn’t have buns to keep all the ingredients in. “You want anything to drink? Your mouth will get pretty dry.” Tom had his water bottle with him, however it was mostly empty at this point and so decided to buy a water too, waiting for his “companion” to decide”.

Tom nodded in reply. “You’re welcome. It’s not too much trouble anyway. At least you weren’t asking me to take you to a 5 star restaurant. I might have had to make it so that you really were hurt.” He replied with a bit of a smirk. He was joking of course, he would never do that to another person, even if they were being incredibly annoying.

Eithan gave him a look, curious about his night job but he stares back in almost awe that he was offering more. He gave a satisfied grin. "Just a Coke. Let's not do anything crazy." Eithan chuckled. "I was kinda tempted, but you ain't one of those kinds that are going to run away from responsibility, right?" A frown was on his face. "Hey, pain is still pain, yeah?"

There would have been no way to convince him it was worse than just a little bump on his head though, Tom didn't seem like the kind of sucker he normally dealt with on a day to day basis. A shame.

Yet there was something curious about him and Eithan had to pull away from staring at him. "Why, you go to a lot of 5 star places? I could try to get hit worse sometime if you do." He joked back at him, grabbing some of the napkins. "So, soccer player, wanting to be a doctor, night job... do have any actual fun?" He smirked at him, though was genuinely curious about his new acquaintance.

”All right then, Coke it is.” Tom replied, nodding to the vendor and paying for everything. He looked back at Eithan and rolled his eyes a bit. “Well if they were truly hurt or in pain sure. But you did look kind of pathetic so I felt a bit sorry for you.” He replied, smirking at the boy. He hadn’t really seen Eithan look like than however he wanted to bother the kid a bit for trying to guilt trip him. “Doctors need to be pretty observant after all.”

He shrugged his shoulders in reply to the restaurant question. “I’ve dined in some but they’re never really worth it.” It was true, he usually got the same satisfaction just from buying and making food from the store than having to go and wait in some snooty restaurant.

“Well, it might not be YOUR type of fun, but I do have fun myself. I’m into mystery novels and have an online webcomic. And I do like to play video games in my spare time too. But I’ve had less time to do it at night when I’ve wanted to.” He also had less time to practice, which was starting to get on his nerves. Perhaps when he went up a rank he would be able to do more than he could right now in terms of having a bit more time off. “What about you? Is bothering others just your hobby?”

"Pathetic?" He raised an eyebrow at him with a dirty look, but he couldn't keep the look as he grabbed his food and drink happily. "I guess you do, also makes sense why you don't eat stuff like this either." Eithan shrugged. "I like them fancy places sometimes, when I'm not buying." He gave a sly grin as he started chomping on his corndog, glancing at him curiously.

"I get that, I don't like books or anything like that but I can manage video games. I just hate losing. At night I like to go out though." He smirked. "I bother all kinds of people then, you could say it's a job really." Sometimes it felt like a job, patrolling the streets, but he enjoyed it more than he thought he would have. It made him release a small laugh and he stuffed more of the corndog in his mouth and chewed it.

"I hang out and eat and play cards." He said in one breath before sipping the drink. "I guess that's typical, yeah? I wouldn't call it especially special, but the stuff I do can be exciting, and that's what matters to me!" He paused again. "You seem pretty cool to me though, Tom. Honestly I think this is the longest a stranger has ever wanted to be around me, so that's new."

Tom just shrugged. “Well I do eat cruddy food sometimes. Though I mostly just go and make my own.” He had lived on cereal and peanut butter sandwiches for a couple of weeks because of his own choice before. “Well I think anyone would like them if they weren’t paying for them. Even those that can afford it usually try to get something free out of them.”

“I don’t mind going out at night in the spring and summer. It’s quite nice out then except for the bugs. Winter is going to come soon and I am going to hate having to go out there.” At least his nega uniform was nice and thick. Too think for him to wear a whole lot during the warmer months but at least he was better equipped for the winter than some others.

“I sometimes play cards, though just for fun. I have better things to spend my money on than losing it trying to gain more. I’m not so good at those betting games.” Or at least there were things that he considered more fun that he liked to do over trying to win money. He raised an eyebrow at the kid. “Oh really? Well maybe they’re on to something.” He replied in a joking tone. He would have to stop for a bit though. Strangers tended not to get his sense of humor. “Well thanks. I don’t know if anyone younger than me has ever called me cool except my little brother. Hanging around you isn’t so bad, at least with what we’re doing right now.”

Eithan felt himself smirk as he finished down his meal. "Free tastes best." He muttered towards him. Winter? He hadn't thought of that. The last year he'd spent out of the city, not able to do his rounds and he didn't think of how cold it might get. There was a grimace on his face but it left when he mentioned cards there was a glint in his eye. Slyly, he smiled back at him.

"Now betting games is where I excel." He didn't bother hiding that and he smirked again at his joke. "Maybe, but then who would you have to buy a corndog?" He sipped at his soda and blinked at him. "Eh, well don't read THAT much into it." He laughed, kidding. "Just wait, I've got a crapton more things I can do to be utterly obnoxious." With his soda and corndog done he tossed the extra garbage.

"Today is pretty good I think. Save for the residual headache but, this works as a peace offering." Eithan grinned at him. "But if you don't mind someone younger and as obnoxious as me, sounds like this could go somewhere." He blinked. "As long as you don't bean me on the head again."

Tom chuckled a bit. “Well I suppose if I get into any betting games I should give you a call then. And I’m sure there are a ton more things you could do to be way more obnoxious.” Recalling the This is the Song that Never Ends closing song from Lamb Chops, Tom shuddered a bit. Yeah, there was a lot more this kid could do that would drive anyone crazy.

“Well, I’ll try not to hit you, but if you get on my nerves too much you might get a whack.” He searched around in his soccer bag a bit, trying to find his phone, which always seemed to be sucked into the bottom somehow. Finally he was able to grab it and drag it out and unlock it. “We can exchange phone numbers if you want. But just to say I’m not going to buy you any booze if you’re that sort of kid. I don’t even drink myself.” He didn’t really like alcoholic drinks, though he would happily be the friend who stayed sober to drive you home.

“Otherwise feel free to call me. Though I might be in the middle of practice or something. And the phone is off while I’m in class.” He had one friend from his home town who would have called him on purpose during class time if he didn’t turn the phone off otherwise.

Do we want to do another rp where they finally learn that they're both agents?

"Of course you should, you'd win with me on your side!" He grinned again and he stretched out his arms with a small yawn. "Hmm?" Eithan laughed. "You'd have to catch me next time, I'm not always a target!"

When Tom started looking for his phone he grabbed his out and gave him a really? look. "If I wanted alcohol I assure you I'd find a way to get it without doing something entirely illegal." He moved over to look at the phone quickly, typing into his phone.

"I probably text more often than call, but hey, I might need some help with active life later." Eithan tapped a spot on his leg. "Metal doesn't exactly help." He chuckled to himself and turned to show his number to him. "Maybe then we can get to having some fun, huh?"

”Oh, so it will still be illegal, just not entirely illegal. I think that means it’s still illegal.” Tom said grinning back at the kid. Well, Eithan was nothing like his little brother, but he could still have a friendship with the kid.

“I’m fine with texting but if you want a long conversation for some reason, I prefer talking it out over the phone or doing it through email.” Tom replied, looking at where Eithan had tapped his leg. Interesting. He thought for just a moment, though having what seemed to be a fake leg didn’t change his opinion of the kid. He only hoped that Eithan wouldn’t gamble the leg away one day on a bet.

“Sure. But for right now, I think I have to get back. I have a later class that I need to get ready for, though luckily we aren’t going to have a test or anything like that.” He was the type of student who went to every class. Hey, his parents were already paying his expenses for school; he shouldn’t let them go to waste by skipping. “I’ll see you around sometime later then okay kid?” He would be going back to the school, having brought the materials he needed with him, in case he ran late for some reason.

All right then, this will be my last or second-to-last post depending on how you want to go. 3nodding

"Maaaybe." Eithan gave a sing-song reply to him and nodded at him. "Yeah well, don't we all?" He stared at him for a moment and blinked at him a bit. "I got metal plates in there now, it's what holds me together." He frumped a bit, pouting a lip but he stared back, putting his phone away after taking the number, nodding at him.

"Sounds good, busy-body!" He called at him and he stretched. "Don't worry, I'll get in touch." He flashed that sly grin of his again before turning with his hands in his pockets, walking off from him with a smile on his face. Maybe this will be fun. Truth be told, he was genuinely happy to had made a friend, but given his "occupation" he wasn't sure how well he could maintain a friend.

Tom sighed as he watched the kid walk away. What had he gotten himself into interacting with this guy? Well, he supposed it was okay, it wasn’t like he knew a whole ton of people here in Destiny City. Even if it was just a teen, and a troublemaker at that, it was better than not knowing anyone at all right?

He re-positioned his bag onto his shoulder and started walking off himself back towards the college campus. Maybe he would see the kid soon again.
