Remus stopped walking so he could turn and stare at Sedna.
"What the hell, that's so messed up," he said, sounding horrified at the very prospect. "I mean, the whole abandoned carnival thing is kinda cool, not gonna lie, but not the whole kidnapping and threatened thing, that's shitty. I'm glad you guys got out of there."
He hadn't yet had as much experience as Sedna had, apparently, though Remus sincerely hoped that kidnapping was not on a list of preferred senshi events to happen. He caught the faint pink on her cheeks and grinned. "Sounds like a pretty good partner," said Remus, laughing, "I don't really have a partner or anything, but a guy I work with sometimes fits that description too - super cross and grumpy."
He followed after Sedna and made a mental note to stay away from anyone named Pyrophanite.
"So he's like...a monster," said Remus, making a face. "A guy that shoots fog out of his mouth, that's like straight outta some horror movie right there. I really hope there aren't many of those around."

"Y-yeah...me too." Her expression picked up though at the talk of partners. "Yeah..." Sedna replied, her expression and tone turning dreamy as she stared off at nothing in particular with a smile. "He is..." And she was going to think about that, too, until Remus' voice called her back down from dreamland. "Oh?" Once she registered what he actually said, her expression brightened with interest. "Oh yeah?" She was grinning now, having a serious soft spot for grumpies. "Who is he?" At the question about Pyrophanite though, Sedna looked dubious before she gave a reluctant nod. "Yeah...and it really does...it just seems...um..." Her lips tightened for a moment. "...Kind of...unfair, sometimes." She looked embarassed. "I hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining!" She hastily added, waving her hands a bit. "We get magic and boosted strength and healing, and I'm super thankful for it---but sometimes---" She sighed, her lips twisting. "Sometime it just doesn't seem like enough to even go toe to toe with the Negaverse..." The senshi trailed off, but then immediatlely lifted her hands to slap her cheeks. "But enough of me being a Debbie Downer!" Sedna exclaimed. "Trying is always better than doing nothing at all!"

Remus eyed Sedna with an expression of amusement.
"Oh ho," he said, hands on his hips, a knowing grin spreading across his face. "I see how it is. Well, I hope things work out for you and Mr. Grumpypants; I'm sure the two of you will make a great partnership together, wouldn't you agree, Admiral?"
He couldn't help but tease her a little, because, well, that was what he did. Remus kicked aside some dirty debris and sifted the toe of his boot through the remains. He cast a glance over his shoulder at the senshi and pressed a finger to his lips.
"That's a secret," said Remus, and winked at Sedna. "He'll get grumpier if I give it away too soon."
He really sincerely hoped that there would be no youma in the near future, either for himself or anyone else. Remus reached out and poked Sedna in the forehead with the tip of a finger.
"You're gonna be just fine," he said in a very matter-of-fact tone of voice. "You're gonna kick some serious Negaverse a**, and then you're gonna go and live a happy pirate life with your partner and everything will be all hunky dory."

Sedna turned red, as Remus seemed to be implying something. She was also a pleased red from the new nickname of 'Admiral', but mostly red because she was embarrassed. "Uh---what are you saying there, guy? Things are well---in our---uh---partnership---so why would they need to work out?" She darted her eyes to the left, and then couldn't help but pout when he wouldn't tell her his partner's name. "Awww! Hey---I'll tell you my Grumpy if you tell me your Grumpy!" She grinned back, her cheeks still red, but not quite as bad as before. She even waggled her brows at him, as if this would further entice him. The senshi blinked as he poked her forehead, and then couldn't help but grin. "Ditto for you, guy---" She then spluttered though, because there he went implying something again---"Um, just for the record, not a pirate---" Wait, did Captain Jack Sparrow say stuff like that in the movies? "---And second, he'd be so against a pirate life, so it's not an option!"

He pointed at Sedna's face dramatically.
"Aha," said Remus triumphantly. "I see that look on your face. You totally know what I'm talking about, you don't even have to say it. I'm sure your Grumpypants is a very lucky man, Admiral, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders."
He liked Sedna and her quirkyness. Remus let out a laugh.
"Okay, fine," he said and hopped a few steps away, landing with a little thump in front of what had once been a kiosk, most likely to hold jewelry or something. It was empty now, devoid of anything but empty shelves and debris. Remus twisted around to look at Sedna over his shoulder.
"Fine, fine, not a pirate. A happy grumpy life, then?" he asked cheekily.

Sedna turned even more red. "What!?" Her voice got high pitched. "N-no!" She waved her hands at him vigorously. "We're friends! Just friends---and even that was very begrudging for him---" She waved her hands frantically. "So no, it's not like that!" She just had a no-so-secret RAGING crush on him, that's all. Wanted to be his waifu. Wanted to be Mrs. --- that's all. The senshi did like the name Admiral though. Her cheeks started to go back to their normal color, slowly, as she followed after him, looking over the kiosk, and she laughed. "Y-yeah---okay! I'll take that! But hey, you didn't answer me---" She wagged a finger at him. "Who is your grumpy?" She paused for a moment, "And does this make us Grumpy Keepers?"

The more Sedna denied and turned red, the more that Remus found it entertaining to poke and prod at her. He liked her open, fun personality; her enthusiasm was infectious, as was her bright smile and the fact that she seemed the type to wear her emotions on her sleeves.
Unlike certain other people who were going to remain nameless. At least for the next minute or so.
"Whatever you say, Admiral," said Remus with an airy shrug, tossing a grin at her. "All right, fine, I'll tell you because you're a fellow Grumpy Keeper - his name is - "
And he skipped away hastily, skirting around the kiosk.
"Oops, I forgot."

Sedna gasped as Remus skipped away from her. "Heeeeeeeeeeeey!" She cried. "You're a tease!" : C! The senshi skittered after him, following him around the kiosk. "And you're just making the curiosity worse! Don't leave me in torment---" Sedna suddenly stopped though, catching up to him, and then stilled completely. Her hands were on his arm, and those stilled as well. She was staring off down the hall, towards a corner of a store front. Her black eyes were wide, and her voice suddenly dropped to a whisper. "Remus---was that there before?" What she was looking at---was a lone pale mannequin, standing there, facing them.

Remus lifted both hands to his face and waggled his fingers at Sedna. "That's me, ever the tease," he said airily, grinning at her. "Don't worry, though, I'll tell you event..."
But he trailed off, catching sight of what she was looking at. There was something ominous about the mannequin in the window - it's blank eyes were staring towards them, plastic body held still - and yet Remus felt as though he'd stepped into an episode of The Twilight Zone.
"Uh," he said, "Well. Maybe we should, y'know." He gave a casual-as-can-be shrug. "Keep walking. Let's go, Admiral," he added hastily, taking several steps back, fingers latching around her elbow.

"Y-yeah!" Sedna promptly spun on her heel, still clutching his arm, and determinedly started to go in the other direction. "I mean, we can probably go---as in leave the mall, right? We've seen a good bit! I'm sure the rest of it is just like the bits we have seen---decay, decay, and more decay---" Don't look back, don't look back, don't look back she mentally chanted to herself, though the temptation to was strong. This suddenly had taken her mind off asking about his grumpy partner though--- And she couldn't resist. She glanced back at it over her shoulder, and her body shuddered and she let out a squeak, as the mannequin appeared to have turned in their direction.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea..." said Remus, in as casual a tone as possible under the circumstances. He slid his arm through Sedna's, linking them together as though they were going for a simple daytime stroll through the park.
"We're just going on a merry jaunt together," he said, keeping his voice light. "We're just sightseeing, that's all."
They went for approximately three steps before she looked, and Remus couldn't resist looking as well.
"Nope," he said "Nope. Run."
