Axinite bowed his head politely, both in greeting and acceptance that they were both prepared for what was to come.
At least, as much as they could be.
Fangite at least knew what to expect, but he wasn’t the one who was going to suffer from this. It would be worth it, though. For Mimisbrunnr.
Or, whoever she was about to become.
Axinite raised his hand, slow enough that it wasn’t threatening, but fast enough that it was clear he wasn’t wasting time. At first, his hand rested over her chest—and then, with expert skill, he slid it inside, towards her starseed. Axinite had done this before, many times, and he had all but perfected his technique. He didn’t want it to hurt them; he wanted it to be a blessing, something to rejoice.
But the power always came with a price, and no matter how delicately he handled her starseed, or how carefully he pushed the energy in, it would hurt. So, when he began to push the Chaos into her starseed, he at least tried to do it as quickly as possible and spare her what suffering he could.

Mimisbrunnr took a breath. She wanted to pretend she was prepared, but she couldn't really be sure she was. This was...terrifying, and she couldn't be sure what would happen coming out the other end.
His hand sank into her chest, and as Chaos began to fill her starseed, she had a moment of painful, agonizing clarity. She saw without the speck of Chaos that had already infected her heart, and she knew, and she knew this wasn't what she'd wanted - this was no cure for her suffering she could actually accept.
She started to say something, but it was too late, and her words were lost in a cry of pain as Chaos sank fully into her and she was transformed.

The new Captain blinked, looking left and right, and frowned. "Where...am I?"

Fangite found himself thankful for the face mask, a scowl reemerging as he watched the scene unfold. Definitely no turning back now. He'd deal with it in the morning, after he got some sleep.
He rolled his eyes, taking a step towards the girl to steady her. "Never mind the where." He grunted, eyeing the new Captain. "Wouldn't you rather know who you are?"Noir Songbird LOOK IM BAD AT THIS OKAY.

When he was a newer General King, perhaps Axinite would have wound up winded or tired; now, this was second nature to him. When he withdrew his hand, he didn’t seem as though he had even lost any energy in the process. He still felt the same, and he still stood tall and proud. He even managed to smile at the new Captain. “Amazonite,” he answered, after only a few seconds of deliberation. His eyes found Fangite. “I think, is appropriate. Captain Fangite?” he waited a few seconds as if for confirmation that the name was reasonable; he had a list of them prepared for instances like this and was more than happy to mark one more off the list. “But I suppose she’ll have a multitude of question. Transitions like this are never easy. My dear,” he looked to the woman and offered a kind smile. “You’ve had a rather busy evening. I think we should get you settled for the night. I’ll have information prepared for you in full tomorrow morning, it should answer all of your questions. Fangite, will you be assisting her with accommodations for the evening or shall I find her a General and help her, myself?”
