It Takes Two"Okay," said Sunny. She smiled, a little. "Tell me where and I'll come see you." Did it make her more human to ask for directions when she didn't need them? She watched Lucas put the necklace on with wide eyes, and then smiled like a supernova: raw and bright and with such fervor that it was difficult to look away. Then, like a supernova, it was over, and Sunny leaned forward to kiss Lucas on the cheek. "Okay. I'll see you then."

If she'd been around that many years and he'd done this fifteen times, he found it hard to believe this would be different. Lucas was still himself, in the end, wasn't he? She smiled and his grin faltered - not in a bad way, just in the way of a man who had looked at the stars and found them staring back. She kissed his cheek and he uttered a faint sound of surprise and dismissal, though he was fighting a smile then. Getting to his feet, he brushed the sand off of his jeans and shirt. "I'll text you the address," he said by way of formality, "and I expect a report on which junk food you do and don't like the next time we meet." Giving her a softer smile, he kissed two of his prosthetic fingers and gently touched her cheek with them before he let her be. shibrogane Lucas will have to ask her why the ******** her number is everywhere at some point. KEEP DRP'S GOING IF YOU WANT, I am here for this strange and unexpected friendship LOL

AnotherSunny found Lucas's door pretty easily. After all, they'd shared blood, and that was a true bond. Not quite siblings, but more than cousins. Kind and kin, both. She balanced the pizza she'd bought against her stomach and knocked politely, but only because she figured she'd better be nice.

AnotherHis days of avoidance were, for the most part, a done deal; it's why Lucas had no hesitation or qualms with answering the unexpected knock, opening the door with a curious look. The werewolf looked a touch tired, hair in a ponytail and shirtless with the wounds on his torso in various states of healing, the small jar resting comfortably against his chest. Surprise flit over his features before a smile won out, opening the door entirely for her. "The beach has come to me! I'm touched -- also, I'm cleaning, excuse the mess." There wasn't actually a mess to speak of, outside of some bloody sheets lumped near an open door. His home was almost model-esque, almost impersonal in its unbroken lines. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"

"I got bored," said Sunny. (Duh.) "And you said I could leave the beach and come see you." She looked around behind him, not even bothering to hide that she was snooping. "Is everything ok? Does cleaning mean making everything flat and boring?"
She scooted past and found a flat kitchen-type surface to put the box of pizza on. "I didn't write a report but I don't like M&Ms, they are crunchy in a bad way."

Lucas closed the door behind her and snorted softly at the question, disappearing into the room the bloody sheets were next to. "Everything is fine. I'm getting a new bed in since I destroyed the other one the first night of the change, so just -- " He emerged again with a tank top, scratching the back of his neck. " -- cleaning up my room a little." Lucas squeezed Sunny's shoulder in passing, rounding into the kitchen to get some plates (some people preferred that) and napkins, putting them out. "I thought I was supposed to bring the pizza," he mused, leaning on the counter with a smile. "You like any certain type of drink? I have a bunch of bad movies I can play for you too, really make you regret the human thing."

AnotherSunny found a nearby flat surface on which to sit. "You can bring me the pizza here," she said, pointing imperiously to her crossed ankles. "I just wanted to hang out. It seemed like a good time. Since it's like… kinda lonely with everyone doing their we're-scared-of-murderers thing." Sunny wasn't scared of murderers. She wasn't scared of no things.

He lifted his brows and shrugged, grabbing just the napkins and putting them on the pizza box, taking a bottle of water for himself. Joining her, Lucas sat down and placed the box against her ankles, opening it up.
"There's too many people in Ashdown to be lonely. Don't be lonely." It was his odd method of an invitation, because he didn't like the idea of Sunny being alone - he didn't like the idea of any of his Pack being alone. It was just odd, now, knowing Sunny as Pack but not...not the other Pack. He had two Packs. Three, if he counted his 'mates,' and he did.
He was giving himself a headache.
"People are scared of what they don't understand. It's how they incorporate survival into their diet of bullshit." He was pretty sure his drill instructor had said that.
"So. What'd you pick?" he asked, lifting his chin to try and see over the box.

Sunny fished a slice of pepperoni pizza out of the box. "It's what they always get in the teen movies," she said, passing the slice over to Lucas. "I kinda wanted to try it."
She smiled at him and then shrugged. "It's what it is," she said, taking an ungainly bite of pizza. "How's your work going?"
