The next hit was to be her final one, sending the young lieutenant down on the ground, and staying down. Collapsing as her stamina gave way, she felt as if she didn't have the energy left to launch another attack.
Serpierite knew well when she was beat, holding up a hand to yield. "I yield." She stated clearly, feeling all of her bones aching. All she wanted to do now was to soak her batterd body in a hot bath.. ugh.. she stopped herself from letting out an unladylike groan of pain. Checking over herself lightly, she was glad that at least none of her bones were broken in this battle. Granted, she was bleeding, bruised, and her clothes were worn down.. but the catch phrase of the negaverse was that it could be worse. Which.. really didn/t help in easing the pain of it actually.
After a oment it took for her to catch her breath, "Don't apologize Sarabauite." Bringing up a hand to pull out her hair so that it wouldn't catch in her weapon or uniform, she gave her an easy smile. Obviously, she took no hardships to losing. "Apologizing is a form of weakness. Weakness isn't welcomed in this organization."
"But congratulations on your win." What Serpierite neglected to tell her was that she wasn't looking forward to a third, or fourth battle in her shoes. Quite frankly, the higher you went, the higher chance you had of facing their superior ranks. And unpleasant was putting that likely.. No, she was quite fine having lost this battle.
Unoderi her dice rolls are crazy LMAO. congrats though!!

Sarabauite swallowed. This victory didn't feel as good as the others. It formed a disconnect that seemed to split her mind in two. On one end, she felt that reluctance creep up on her, on the other, as she stared down at her bloodstained bookmark and hands, she felt... nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Like protecting herself was second nature, akin to scratching an itch. Something to relieve a disturbance. Sarabauite didn't feel bad for attacking, she felt bad for protecting herself.
"R-right," she said, eyes connecting with her opponent. "It... It was a good battle, thank you for the, um, opportunity, aha. D-do you need help? I can help you to the medics..."

She looked thoughtful at Sarabauite's offer.. but shook her head. "No thank you. I think I can still walk.." Besides, there was somebody in the stands that she didn't have a chance to acknowledge in the battle.
Dusting herself off, and ignoring the screams of pain that her body tried to tell her, she gingerly walked over to the spectator stand. Coming closer to the spectators, she gave a friendly wave to Captain Pyrophanite before approaching her intended target. If she had known Pyrophanite's identity past his looks, the lieutenant would have surely been concerned. But she had little idea.. therefore he warranted as much attention as a stranger would. "Captain Wolfeite." The wolfish captain was greeted with a smile
Clasping her hands behind her back, the relief she felt at not having to advance was touched by a feeling of guilt. To lose in front of somebody she knew.. felt distinctly off-putting. Was this how lieutenants and captains felt under the watchful eyes of their general? She had never known, since her meetings with her general was long in the past. "Too bad that you came to watch and I lost." Though her loss was inevitable at some point.. she never would have been able to face off evenly with a captain or a general. And she wasn't going to fool herself into thinking that the captain was concerned.. as their few meetings didn't give rise to much more than an acquaintanceship. But still, it didn't deter her from trying to forge a friendship.
"Did you come to assess our skills and threat level?" She said half-jokingly, leaning forward to look at him from beneath. That was partially her reason for watching the other matches, "Because I can assure you that I am most definitely not a threat towards you or General Labyrinthite." It was a bit of a joke really.. but not something she took offense at, having brought it up herself.

Captain Wolfeite (spectating)
The fight was a little unexpectedly harsh, though Wolfeite found that pleasing in its own way. The thrill of violence never ceased to make him hungry for more, and even now, as he stood in the midst of all the battles that were going on, he had an urge to run across and dive right into any of them.
But that was for later. For now, he would just observe, and he would learn.
The winner of the fight received only a brief flicker of his gaze before Wolfeite's golden gaze moved back to Serpierite. His ears were pointed upwards, tail dragging lazily behind him, brushing against one of his legs, and after a moment he pushed himself away from the wall he was leaning against.
"You'll learn more, I expect," he said. "Losing has its benefits."
Perhaps a surprising sentiment from a man who hated things out of his control more than anything; but Wolfeite did nothing that did not gain him at least something in return; there was little point in it otherwise. Every move was careful, every action planned out.
A dark eyebrow rose. Wolfeite's kerchief was pulled down, his entire face visible, and there was a glint of sharp canines as he smiled at Serpierite.
"I assess everyone's skills and threat levels," he said lightly. "It's good to know one's...allies..." The word was said with the slightest of pauses. "...as well as their enemies, is it not?"

Pyro hated to see the battle end, but the winner was decided and he watched the two forms seperate. He could tell it was Serp coming over and the way her arm moved up meant she must've been waving.
"Hey Serp. Good try." he offered lamely before she was moving on, and to another half youma.
Unsure of how to proceed, he let his hand drop and looked at the two from afar. Just in case the wolf wanted to bite.

"Oh?" It was clear that the female lieutenant was surprised by Wolfeite's gentle answer. He wasn't wrong though, and that made her feel better about her loss.
His answer to her half-joking declaration amused the both of them, judging from Wolfeite's smile. "I can't disagree with that." Any wise tactician allowed for the precarious momentum of ally and enemy, as it was never a certain thing.
Her smile faded though.. whether he had intended it or not, she caught the undertones of his words. An unsettling thought occurred to her that hadn't yet crossed her mind before this: would she ever become his enemy? In the future that looked bleak, she truly didn't know. It was unlikely, considering they were on the same side. But this hesitance about the negaverse did not bode well for a strict organization that weeded out traitors. She reassured herself with the fact that at least for now, she was his ally.
Hoping to cover her unnatural pause, she tossed the blame of it onto her injuries. "It appears that I must go for medical attention." Her wound was still bleeding after all. "It's such a shame that you don't see me at my best. Let's try to meet up, even if its only once, when there isn't blood, battles, or the rift?" All appealing elements in their own way.. and probably more to Wolfiete than to Serpierite. But a little bit of variety wouldn't hurt.

Aurostibite was undeniably pleased at how far Sarabauite had come so far. He gave her an approving nod, and gave one to Serpierite as well.
