"I owe him the respect of coming to him. As I'm the one who vanished, and as he has given me the honor of coming here to check on me, it's my turn to pay him the respect he deserves as well." Luk answered, though he smiled at Zarith. "Besides, it will be fun to see how much his realm has grown, and my reappearance will be spread in rumor and gossip by his followers, I am sure. So, two birds and one stone, as it is phrased."
He reached down to pull Zarith into his lap, rubbing noses with him. For just a moment, Luk wanted to sit and look at his husband, and try to gather strength for the upcoming meeting with his friend and ally. He looked up to Antar, and to have vanished for so long, Luk felt like he had let all of his followers, family, and friends down.
"I am sorry, Zarith. I had no intentions of vanishing for so long. Forgive me. Not as your god, but as your lover. Forgive me for this."

Zarith helped Lukarius when he lifted him to transfer himself into his lap. He pressed his pale wings down behind him like folded taffeta, then leaned in to gently rub his nose with his gods. His silver eyes were bright, even when Lukarius would issue his apology. "You need not ask for such a thing, as my forgiveness was granted the moment you awoke. I knew where you were this entire time, and even if you were to sleep for eternity, I would remain ever by your side." He promised with a heartfelt fervor. "You are my husband and I love you beyond life and death. In this life or any other that might follow, my love for you will always be present." Zarith lifted his hand to stroke Luk's cheek as he sighed softly. "Though between you and I, I am relieved I will not have to live through any of that just yet."

"As am I." Luk agreed. "I do not enjoy the image of you waiting for me in such a way. Waiting for me to awake is not a life worth living, not for you dearheart." Luk held Zarith closer. "I want you to enjoy your time here, and make many memories, even if it does not include me being in them all." Luk sat back slightly to look down into Zarith's eyes. "I don't want you to think this means I do not want to be in your memories, love. I just do not want you wasting your life waiting for me to continue mine. We are one in our love, but we are still separate beings."
