Melvin looked over as Lawrence was grabbed for trying to escape. He opened his mouth to suggest a gag, then thought of Lawrence in a gag, which made him then shut his mouth again.
Gags.
His mind wandered.
Moving around a few large bushes, he stepped into another portal only to find it overgrown and filled with nothing but the loud croaking of many, many frogs.
They all looked over at him over their loud chorus. Just as Melvin stepped back, they all jumped into black, tar-like puddles and everything was quiet. Confused and a bit freaked out, he returned back to the group.
"Not that one."

"It's no where we ******** are." Rep said. "It's WHO is ******** with us. I don't see why we ******** had to bring your shitty boyfriend or whatever."
He turned his attention to Rodney and said. "You could ******** ask that God guy if he can tell you. Failing that it's probably the first oceany smelling place you end up without something about to immediately eat you."

"What is your problem, anyway?" Harrison asked, walking as he talked. "You know, the last time we did this you acted like I was taking you out to be shot. And I was just going to go say I was glad Melvin was feeling better. All this would go a lot easier if you'd just see it ******** through. Is there anything we can do to accomodate your majesty to make this a mutual respect kind of experience rather than one where I drag you like a goddamn two year old through a mall?"
Harrison cautiously uncovered Lawrence's mouth.
Another portal with another island, but the crags didn't look familiar. The woods were set on ******** with them too, it seemed like.

"Ah...that. Yeah. Won't argue with you there."
He looked as Lawrence was manhandled as Harrison tried to keep him from doing much of anything aside from walking.
"Makes you wonder if we could have just painted a face on a rock and gone with that."
Melvin tried another portal beside a set of stones, stepping in only - How the hell was he in the same damn shack?
He walked back out to return to the group.

Lawrence gave Harrison an attentive and a little too focused stare as he talked, knowing that there was nothing other than letting him leave that the other man could do to make any of this satisfactory to him, wherever they were going was going to be surrounded by or under water and it simply was not acceptable in any way at all.
When Harrison uncovered his mouth he resisted his initial desire to simply state the pendant word and instead stated. "I prefer not to be kidnapped at all." he said. "That was what happened to me the first time I was brought to. Deus Ex M-"
Rep went looking for portals, in a pretty sour mood. "You don't seem to even ******** like him either, why does anyone even keep him around?" he asked.
He stuck his head into one of the portals and immediately brought it out again with a sigh, not even seeming to be bothered by what had been an island surrounded by steaming lava and populated by what seemed to be small rolling ring creatures. It wasn't the right one, that was all.

Rodney looked brighter at that.
"That's...that's a good idea. You're right. We all should have prayed before we left..." He looked worriedly at Lawrence, and said a prayer anyway.
When he looked up from his prayer, there in a halo of streaming light from the forest canopy, was what looked promisingly like the mouth of a cave.
"Is this it?" he asked softly.

Harrison covered Lawrence's mouth again and leaned over to where Rodney was.
"That's the one," he said, although he didn't sound too happy about it.
He stopped Rep with his foot, since both hands were occupied.
"Rep...what do you think. You think we oughta..." Harrison looked rankled, and sad, "call and see if Jordan wants to come out here instead?"

This time, Melvin just shrugged. "He has to be somewhere, Rep." He pointed out.
He moved up and frowned when Jordan was mentioned. "Wouldn't that...take him a while to find us?"

Rep raised a brow at Harrison, looking from him to Lawrence and back again. Going back for Jordan would mean more painful conversations with Melvin and worst of all, more time with Rodney who of course had just ******** cakewalked his way into where they needed to be. He kept his attention on Lawrence and reaching out, picked the man up by the neck, holding his pendant in his other fist.
"Now lets TALK about this s**t." he said dangerously. "You ******** pendant out of here, I'm going to come ******** find you on the island, I'm going to bring you back here and I'm going to take your pendant away and we are going to ******** do all of these horrible ******** trials you keep ******** bitching about without any way out. When the ******** crumbly wee walkway crumbles into the ******** sea you are going to be on it and you aren't going to be able to get off it. I'll throw your ******** pendant in after you. Accidents."
Lawrence obviously found it very hard to breathe while being held up by the neck and simply nodded, clawing at the hands around his neck until Rep let him go and he fell to sit on the ******** understand? I don't like being here with YOU either but here we ******** are, you are with one of the ******** strongest moons on the goddamn island and me. You don't want to be on my ******** enemy list, cause it's short and I'm always bored. "
Lawrence coughed and narrowed his eyes but seemed to have stopped trying to wriggle out of things for the moment. Nevertheless Rodney and Melvin both got brief and accusing stares for their absolute uselessness at preventing him being assaulted. He found himself shoved back to the ground with a boot on his chest as Rep stated.
"Sorry I didn't hear you there, do you ******** understand?"
He nodded. "Crystal." he snapped at the ridiculous redhead and was released to stand, clenching his hand so tightly his knuckles turned white.

Rodney, who had shuffled up so quietly it was difficult to notice him (although everything he did was quiet), lightly gripped the fabric of Lawr's sleeve (on the side without a hand).
Rodney couldn't say it would be alright, because he didn't know it would be.
Harrison watched Lawrence warily, like he might have to collar him again, but overall seemed relieved.
"Thanks," he said sincerely, as if Rep had given him a nice and thoughtful bouquet instead of giving Lawrence a death threat.

Quote: gaia_crown [ Setting and Rules ] The Cavern is surrounded by greenish blue water on all sides. Craggy rocks dripping with algae and kelp lift up above the surface, and if you look down you'll be able to see the entrance, halfway buried in gently rippling sea water. Once inside, it's all dry (mostly), but it looks like you'll have to swim a bit to get there. - If your WHOLE TEAM is ejected OR the GM at any point is ejected/ reaches 0 HP, then the quest is over. The GM will have to pay another 5 RP points to try again.

Melvin walked over and looked over at Rep. "No one is purposely killing anyone because if I see that s**t, then I'm going to be pissed. A lot of people have had a lot of disciplinary actions against them and I don't think it's wise at this point to parade it openly that you want to kill other people." He said to Rep, warning him. He then looked over at Harrison. "Or allow it to be encouraged. It's one thing to drag someone for the sake of them helping out with a mission that requires living mass, but another to flat out say you're going to kill them. I'm not for that s**t at all."
He looked at all of them. "From ANYone."
With that, he moved to help Lawrence back up. "So can we try and ACT like decent human beings here and just get this done so we can get home without any causalities? MAYBE pretend we care about each other and want to keep them safe and alive? Huh?"
He stood there now, between Harrison and Rep and looked over at them. "So let's ******** play nice or do I need to go on some elaborate colorful macho trip too because I REALLY don't need an excuse to snap?"

"Now's not the time to grow a pair of morals, Melvin," Harrison said, "Of course, we all want everyone out of here safe, and Rep wouldn't say anything that wasn't for the good of the team. We're all nice. Nice as peach pie. Nice as wanting to get this over with, with everybody else helping everyone else."
He ushered the whole bundle of them, Rep, Lawrence, Melvin, and Rodney into the waiting portal before they spent too long in Fear Town instead of good old terra firma.

Rep narrowed his eyes at Melvin for daring to try and stand up to him. "I don't give a s**t if you are pissed off or not, nor do I think I'd get any discipline at all for taking him off of the hands of the ******** organisation. They might even give me a medal, given the amount of s**t he's done and the weird ******** diseases he's brought onto the island." He waved a hand dismissively. "Just butt the ******** out, no one asked you. We'll get this done, we'll go back, no problem."
"And I'll keep people safe and ******** alive nae bother. I'm professional, I just don't take well to ******** deserters or backstabbers." But he shut up to let Harrison speak before following him also into the portal.
Lawrence wasn't happy but there wasn't a single sympathetic ear he could complain into, so he stayed quiet, still irritably rubbing his throat as he went in.
On the other side, he took the sight in and inhaled sharply, backing up a few steps and shaking his head. Death threats or not. "I am not getting in that water." he said a little more weakly than he intended. He had expressed his dislike of open water to both Melvin and Rodney in the past but he wasn't sure he could count on either of them to have even remembered.
"And I am not simply being difficult either." he added as Rep shot him a glare.

Any chance of being nice and friendly was soon draining out of him like a termite-eaten barrel, and he gripped Lawr's sleeve as he glared back. So much for catching up. So much for trying to be supportive to a cause that wasn't even his to begin with. So much for trying to keep things in perspective.
He was starting to debate leaving.
At the water, he looked down and then back at Lawrence. "It's not even that deep. I can see the bottom from here. It's like a kiddie pool. Want me to go in and come back to tell you it's fine?"
