Bloodstone knew he was already losing this fight, but Reinerite must have been getting tired because she was losing her focus, at least for the moment. Her next strike at him had her stumbling and he was able to escape without any additional damage for the moment.
He circled back around and tried a kick in her direction, hoping it would be enough.
Her speed only allowed him to cause minimal damage.

Reinerite's Current HP: 11/20 Reinerite's Roll attack strength: 4 - 2 = 2
Bloodstone had taken advantage of her being off-balance to aim a kick in her direction and whilst Reinerite had tried her best to avoid it she hadn't quite been successful.
She had managed to recover enough to lunge forward however, her left hand balled up in a fist as she tried to swing at the other Lieutenant.
Dart in, dart back - that had been the plan. Although Reinerite was well aware that darting in would put her in range of a counter-strike back - especially as she was tiring.
Reinerite hadn’t been prepared for his first kick, which surprised him a little. He’d only managed to hit her enough to knock her back, but it was enough to have him trying something new.
She swung her fist at him, and he was willing to take the hit if only to allow her to get close enough to him. She darted in and it was obvious that she would try and get back out.
It was then that he reached out to grab onto her wrist, trying to hold her in place long enough for him to spin around to deliver a hard kick to her stomach, or really anywhere he could land the kick.

Her punch had managed to graze Bloodstone, however Reinerite had been too close and too tired to prevent the other Lieutenant's hand from latching onto her wrist and his counter kick hit her dead on target.
Her breath whooshed out in a wheeze of pain, her grey eyes stinging.
However if Reinerite was one thing she was a fighter and even with the odds stacked against her and in the position she had least wanted to be in she was still going to fight, although the return punch that she sent Bloodstone's way was more of a blind punch...
Because if she was going to end up losing then she was going to do her best to at least make the taller Lieutenant have to work for his victory.
The only saving grace he had was that she’d drawn close enough for him to grab onto her. If she hadn’t, he was sure she would have managed to overpower him and leave him on the ground.
Out of breath by this point, he winced when she landed another hit on him. He tried to keep his hold onto her wrist to keep her close, and made to aim one more kick in her direction.
However it happened, he was unsure, as his head was still spinning from the effort exerted of trying to keep himself standing. Somehow he knew this last kick was what he needed to end the fight.
He staggered back when it was over, and then reached out to offer his hand to Reinerite, wanting to make sure she was on her feet, and to check for any injuries she might have sustained from their fight.
If anything, Bloodstone was confident that they were equal in strength, and it was just luck that he managed to get the better of her.

That last punch had pretty much been her last hurrah so to speak however, because Reinerite knew that she didn't have any more fight in her.
That last kick from Bloodstone had been just as painful as the previous one and for a long few moments Reinerite just let herself lay on the ground.
Grey eyes blinked startled for a moment as a hand appeared in her vision, but then she reached out to take it as she shakily got to her feet.
And whilst pride had her trying to at least hide her pained winces, she probably wasn't doing too great a job of it.
She was, she decided once she was finally on her feet, sooo going to treat herself to some biskies from The Sugar Cube for this.
Although for now she would settle for sitting down once she was out of the ring with a planned long soak in the tub for later.
There was unabashed approval in Aurostibite's eyes as he stepped forward, a faint smile on his face as he surveyed his own lieutenants.
"Very well done," he said, and inclined his head towards the pair of them. "I'm very pleased to see how far you both have come in the short time since your recruitment. Reinerite, make sure that you watch your distance, too close to your opponent and your attacks will be off. Bloodstone, just make sure of your balance so that you don't overcorrect. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with you both."
Aurostibite gestured towards the corner. "There are bandages and water over there, if you need them, and Bloodstone, the second round for you will begin shortly."

Reinerite listened quietly to Aurostibite and nodded. Moving in close that last time had been a gamble - but one that had not paid off and thus not a mistake that she planned to make next time.
At least not if there was a future tournament type thing.
In the meantime however she would inspect the corner that her General had pointed out because whilst she didn't think that the bandages would be necessary - well make that at least she hoped the bandages wouldn't be necessary - some water sounded really good about now...
And then after...
After she was most definitely going to snag a chair and sit down for the remainder of her time here, just as she was definitely going to do that soak when she finally got home.
