Feeling the winds around him the water male looked back to the shifter. A large excited grin grew. "That was awesome! Was that magic?" he asked as he walked over to kneel nearby the other. Abie picked up the goblet of water that had been brought out by his Caretaker not too long ago. The sneaky assassin must of placed it out there while they were talking. Either way, it was helpful. There was a plate of assorted food for them along with two goblets of water and a pitcher. Abie heard his stomach growl giving a sheepish smile he picked up a few bites.

"What other magics are you learning?" he asked curious as he offered the other the second goblet. He smiled down at Junior as the whelp snagged one of the dried meats set out for them. "Brat." he muttered to the small beast.

Incanthis blushed a bit, his eyes glancing up at Abie for a moment, then back to his books, "Ah... yes... I'm doing my best to figure out the various spells that the books are about. It's a bit slowing going but I think that if I put my mind to it that I should be able to do more then just a few weak spells." He should definitely put more time into his training he thought to himself before he glanced up at him, hearing the sound of Abie's belly. It was a sound that reminded Incanthis that he hadn't eaten yet this morning, instead having gone straight to the courtyard after being woken up by Junior.

Reaching out he picked up some of the finger foods that had seemingly appeared out of the ether, taking a bite out of it. As Abie asked him about the other magics he was learning he said, "Healing is my main focus. I want to be able to take care of those around me, to make sure that they are kept healthy and happy. I also have control over the elements though to a lesser degree. The spell I just used was simple manipulation of air, I figured it might be something you like since you looked as though you were quite warm."

Giving a smile he said, "Anything else that you want to see?" He asked, reaching out to catch hold of Junior by the tail, pulling him back away from the plate he was stealing from. It was too late for the piece he'd already stolen but maybe he could protect the rest of the food from the hungry little whelps? Though it make him wonder, "Is it time for their breakfast?"

Abie chuckled as he fixed up a small basin of food for the whelps. "Yeah it is...thankfully they eat many of the same things we do." he set down the bowl clicking his tongue as a few tried to be greedy. "Hey...give the smaller ones a fair share. You know better." he scolded. Happy when the larger infants seemed to get the warning. Laqui nudged the smallest of the whelps to the food, only eating when he saw the smaller one starting to eat. Abie was happy. He sat down a little bit later looking back to Incanthis when a thought hit him.

"While I was out I saw the most amazing female snaptrotter...she was this inky void black...like a moonless night, but her eyes...Incanthis. Her eyes were a bright amber. They were amazing. I asked her owner if she was breeding. Turns out she's carrying a clutch and he said that if any turned out similar to her he would trade me them. Said he wanted a few Janarim guards for his wagons when he traveled. Mentor said that he was going to train up a few if it meant I got a hold of a unique color like hers. Turns out he's seen the female as well and is interested in a few hatchlings..." the youth sounded excited. He nibbled at the food as he rambled.

"That's good to hear, I don't want them to think we are teasing them or something since we are eating without them." Incanthis would feel so guilty were the little ones to think that they weren't going to feed but instead only feed themselves. That Abie had a basin of meat for the little whelps was good, it meant that they could eat breakfast together. The moment that the food was set down all of the babies went rushing toward the food, all of them trying to get at it, though Abie was able to get the chaos under control, which was quite impressive to Incanthis.

Giving a smile he said, "Maybe once they are done eating I can summon some water for them to play in." That way they would be able to enjoy themselves after their meal, though it was up to Abie if that was an option or if he had some training in mind for the little whelps.

As Abie started to talk about an 'amazing female snaptrotter' that he'd met he tilted his head to one side, listening as he described what she looked like, "Wow, that sounds quite lovely!" It was a shame that he'd missed meeting such a beast but he wasn't one that went out a lot these days due to the fact that he was afraid Muata might catch up with him. The last time he'd been out for a while was when Junior escaped while chasing after a rodent that he'd been so eager to make a meal out of. The next time he went out would likely be when he left with Abie. It was something that he was looking forward to but also felt quite nervous over.

"Will it be alright? The bigger, older whelps won't tease a much smaller one will they?" He asked, sounding a bit worried about the safety of the little one that Abie was wanting to trade for.

Abie smiled at the shifter. "It'll be fine." he said from his sitting position. He reached out to take Incanthis' hand. "I'll keep the baby with me till their big enough to hold their own." He let go as Laqui jumped into his lap. Laughing Abie rolled to his back as he play fought the infant...a few others joining in the play. Abie got up after a few rounds, rolling to his side as he smiled up to Incanthis.

"What should we do now?" he asked as he beamed up to the other.

Incanthis gave a slow nod of his head, "If you're certain that it will be alright then you should go for it. It would be good for you to get more whelps, especially those from outside your original group. Bringing in new blood will make your group stronger in the long run." He murmured, then blinked a couple times, "Well... so I heard... I am by no means an expert and you should do what you want to do." He lifted his hands to wave them, not having meant to talk in such a manner, rarely the sort to tell anyone what they should do since he wasn't really the most confident sort.

"Hm? What to do now?" He glanced around at the babies for a long, thoughtful moment, "Ahh... we could always bring the whelps to swim? It's getting warmer so I'm sure they will want to wallow away the hotter part of the day." Incanthis knew that he'd like to do just that though he'd end up soggy with fingers that looked like prunes if he tried.

Abie smiled as he walked over to sit next to Incanthis. "That sounds like they would enjoy it. Did you need me to get the bigger basin?" he tilted his head as he thought over things. "I don't mind...we'll be leaving here soon. We'll do whatever you want..." he leaned back smiling at the other male. He chuckled as the smallest snaptrotter started to play with his boot. "Awww you trying to take down my boot are you?"

Did he need Abie to get the bigger basin? He turned to glance at the young man sitting next to him, giving him a smile, "If you want to? I mean I could get it if you would rather look after the whelps?" He wasn't sure if Abie thought him able to look after the group alone. It was one thing tending to Junior's needs but it was something else entirely to look after the whole group of them. Would he be able to do that? Would Abie trust him to do that? It was something that instantly had him fretting, something that Incanthis seemed to be doing more and more these days.

Shaking his head to clear his spiraling thoughts he said, "I should be alright for a while. I can always entertain them with a spell or two." He could summon forth water after all and that would be something the whelps would like. The only down side being that a water spell was somewhat exhausting to use in a place like Oba. Not that he would tell Abie that, instead he'd just see about getting a nap later on instead.

Drawing his knees to his chest Incanthis rested his head on them, watching as the little whelp set to 'fighting' with Abie's boot. They were starting to get stronger, huh? Soon enough they would be big enough that there wouldn't be room for them all. It was probably a good idea that they were going soon, because that meant more room for the little ones as they grew up. It would also be good for Abie to stretch his legs too. He found himself wondering for an idle moment about Abie's future, not just him becoming a grand rider but passed that, family things. Was he planning on getting married one day? Maybe to a woman who also had a herd of snaptrotters? A thought he shoved aside as he reached over for one of his tomes, busying himself with finding the right spell so he could call forth water for the whelps.

Abie looked over to the shifter when the snaptrotter stopped fighting his boot, granted the water male pinned the whelp with said boot. Abie stood hugging the other male real quick before he walked away. Calling back to the other over his shoulder. "I trust you with them!"

As he walked into a small storeroom nearby he got the heavy large basin. It was big enough for the Janarim Pups to play in. His whelps weren't that big yet. As he sat down the basin he watched Incanthis with the whelps. He liked that view a lot. The shifter was precious to him, cherished...he blinked. That most likely isn't what Incanthis thought of him. He settled the basin chuckling as a few whelps peeked into the basin. Abie sat down and smiled at the sight. "I almost feel like a parent with them...makes me wanna take on a partner that they trust as much as I do..."

He knew very well that person would be Incanthis. The whelps trusted him without a doubt.

Incanthis watched Abie go before he pushed up to his feet, making a couple of motions with his hands, "Alright, let's see if I can figure this out." He said to the little whelps that were moving around him, giving Junior a smile as the dark green whelp came to stand between his feet. Giving a smile, glad for the encouragement, he set to casting the next spell. It took a good amount of power but soon enough he was able to summon forth a globe of water, allowing it to falling like rain lightly. It was something that caused the whelps to come over, standing under the shower that Incanthis was creating for them.

It was a shower that he paused when Abie arrived, setting the basin down, before he moved the globe over and let it fall into the basin, filling it up once Abie moved away from it. Once that was done he leaned over, hands resting on his knees, concentrating on catching his breath. Oh yeah, that was a tiring one he thought to himself.

"Huh?" Turning to look over at Abie he gave a gentle smile, nodding his head, "Ahh... yes, that is something you should consider, though definitely don't rush something like that. You're young yet and shouldn't get a wife until you're ready." As he said that he moved to find himself a bit of shade where he could settle down and watch the whelps play in their pool.

Abie blinked then turned to the other male. What? Wife? He shook his head as he crossed his arms. "I don't want a wife...I mean...I want kids, but that's what adoption is for." he chuckled as he walked closer to the other male. "I prefer males..." he nearly let it slip that he would prefer Incanthis, but thought better of it. He had nearly done that several times already that morning. He watched the other before turning to pick up the remainder of the food. Bringing it to Incanthis he smiled gently. Setting it down in front of the other he sat down across from him.

"If I had to say what I would look for in a partner, it'd be you." he looked the other in the eye as he said it. "I mean that." He gave the other a small smile.

He didn't want a wife? But he did want kids...? He turned to glance at Abie as he said that he preferred men and after a slow nod he said, "Ahhh, I see. A husband then? Either way I feel that you should wait until you're a little older to take such a step." He watched as he came to settling in front of him, "Abie?"

"Ahh... h-huh?" He blinked slowly as he spoke of what it was that he wanted in a partner he was suddenly saying that it would be him. A comment that was... kind, but not exactly what he wanted to hear. It wasn't that he didn't care for Abie, because he really did. He found him to be a person with a good heart, he couldn't take care of the babies and have their love if he didn't. Pushing himself up to his feet he gave Abie a gentle pat on the head, "You should find someone like me if that is your type, but you don't want me specifically. You deserve much better, Abie." Even if Abie meant every word he said he couldn't allow it.

"I'll see about picking up their plates." He said, walking over to where the now empty plates from the snaptrotter's meal were sitting."

The water youth blinked as he watched Incanthis. "Regardless of what you think, that won't change how I feel. Or how I'll display those feelings." he ran gentle strokes down Laqui's back. "Your not the only one who's screwed up Incanthis..."

He looked to the basin. A few of the whelps watched him as he got up. Dipping cloth into the water he wiped off his face. The body paint around his eyes being washed away to reveal the scars at the corner of his eyes. He touched the ink on his chest then looked over to the shifter. Standing he walked over, took Incanthis' hand and placed it where the other would feel a small scar under the ink on his chest. He didn't say anything but walked away after a few moments of silence.

He stopped before looking back to him. "Your not the only one with nightmares you know. I just stopped trying to fight them..." as he walked to a different tree to leave Incanthis to his thoughts. Abie sat down allowing a few of the whelps to clamber on him. Laqui stood between the two earthlings, watching Abie before he turned to nuzzle Incanthis. Giving Junior a few trills the cream colored whelp ran to lay across Abie's chest...the water male letting out a huff. "Good gods Laqui your not light!!!"

Incanthis gave a soft sigh, giving his friend a glance, before he lifted a hand to rub it against his face, "Abie... I..." He seemed to struggle with his words for a moment, trying to find the right ones. He wanted him to listen, to understand... but he mentioned also being 'screwed up' and then he showed off his scars to him once more. Turning toward him he starred a moment, then shook his head, "I... didn't say that you weren't without issues, Abie, I would never even dare to say something so unfeeling as that."

Giving a slight jolt Incanthis starred at Abie as he took hold of his hand, lifting it to rest against his chest, allowing him to touh another of scars. It was something that they didn't have in common. Save for his brand the scars that Incanthis had weren't on the surface where just anyone could see them. He watched as Abie moved away from him, wrapping his arms around himself, hugging himself tightly, "I'm... sorry..." He murmured, lifting a hand to rub it against his watery silver eyes before moving away from Abie.

As Abie said that he 'wasn't the only one with nightmares' he couldn't help but flinch, "You're right... I'm sorry." Abie was much stronger then he was it seemed, making him feel a bit terrible about the entire situation. He shouldn't have said anything, it had only upset Abie he thought to himself as he started out of the courtyard. He needed to drop the dishes off in the kitchen before he put some space between the two of them. He wasn't feeling well at the moment and it was best that he didn't stick near to Abie, worried that he would ruin the mood more. Best to leave him to play with his whelps he thought to himself as he left, Junior following hot on his heels after the green whelp gave Laqui a chirp. It seemed he wanted his brother to know where he was going before he too was gone from the courtyard.

Abie looked over to watch the other leave. He sighed as he looked up to the tree canopy. He thought over what he could do to keep Incanthis at his side. Well...he could simple ask. He looked down to Laqui. "What do you think? Should I ask and hope he agrees?"

Laqui chirped his approval. Abie nodded deciding to talk with Incanthis later on about staying near him. The shifter didn't have to accept his feelings, he could be content with being near the older male. Yeah. Abie sighed. "We'll just stay near each other. I don't wanna lose him..."

The water male drifted off into a light nap with his whelps.
