"Do you?" Jeremiah doubted it. It was a bit much that there were so many that- He let out a heavy breath. "You have been in other ashdown. It could have easily been there that you collapsed versus here and what then?"

The childish behavior and responses were not winning them any favors but then ...

"And what now? I can't honestly believe that you are the type of person that enjoys people harping on you because you cannot remember to eat." Another shake of his head. They were apparently heading to Darlene's, if only because it was the only place that Jeremiah would go to without being immediately annoyed with the cook.

"If you want to collapse in on yourself, kindly either think of the impact on others or do it somewhere else." His tone was still even but the words had weight.

Jeremiah watched out the corner of his eye as Alexis sunk in on themselves and let out a heavy breath through his nose.

"Darlene's. The cook there is good," it was Nasir and he was more than good but good was extremely high praise from mister food snob, "and if I'm feeding you and myself then it will be a place where I find the food more than passable." At least Alexis buckled up finally so he could get started on driving his way over there.

They could mumble all they wanted, they were still going to the place whether they liked it or not.

"I am," he replied, "and you can pick out whatever you want." Blue-green eyes cut once more to Alexis while he was driving. "... that does include trying out whatever the most expensive menu item is."

If they were feeling frisky enough to try that number on him.

"Good to know that a very small portion of the Ashdown population is safe from your swindling," Jeremiah replied, eyes rolling.

The detective would make good on making sure Alexis had something to eat; a good and hearty meal. If later he made a point to look into the youth, well. Jeremiah was Jeremiah and did whatever the ******** he wanted.

Which apparently included keeping an eye out even more so for Alexis in the future.
