"Oh." Adopted? Kit hadn't expected that. With the hesitant way Evran spoke of it, he wondered if he had brought up a subject that was uncomfortable or awkward for her to talk about or dwell on. At the very least, though, he wanted her to know that he didn't think any less of her because of it.
"That just makes you even more amazing, then, to get along with animals so well. Hehe, first being so good with Marleen that I thought you were her owner and now telling me you didn't grow up around animals? I never would have guessed. You must be a natural." He beamed at her. "Not to mention a fast and enthusiastic learner. I mean, you've got an obvious passion and it shows. I'm sure your family must be very proud."
He blinked when the young woman turned to him and began to panic. Before he could open his mouth to try to soothe her and find out what had happened, however, someone else came up to them and kicked Evren's leg. Kit glanced over, startled. Then, upon hearing the girls' exchange and gradually coming to understand the situation, he laughed.
"I imagine this is the little sister you mentioned," the tall teen commented, returning the newcomer's glare with a mischievous smirk of his own. "Reminds me of mine. We don't get along."
He turned back to Evren and offered her his phone. "Here. You can put your number in if you like." Kit didn't seem to have any intention of introducing himself to the preteen. She hadn't introduced herself, after all, and by her reaction to seeing him, he doubted she cared to know anything about him. In his experience, kids didn't like him much and he wasn't fond of them, either. In fact, there were one of the few things that actually seemed to outwardly annoy him. Though he continued to smile, the tightness of his lips suggested it was more forced.Stump_Fairy ((Pfft, you didn't take anywhere near as long as I did. XD You're perfectly fine. On another note, though, did you see the rp I made for Ananke and Ptolemaeus?))

“Little sister…” Alyssa squinted. “I’ll have you know that I may be younger but I’m Ren’s big sister.” Evren smiled brightly. “Alyssa is a very reliable big sister!” Evren pet Marleen before deciding to go talking about Alyssa. “Whenever we go shopping she holds my hand so I don’t wander off!” Evren can’t count the times she has gotten lost. Evren then reached over and reached for the phone. “Alright! Let’s… trade…” She then trailed off into silence as she stared blankly at the phone. Alysaa sighed. “Give me the phone. I really don’t think you should be just giving your phone number out… I guess I’ll make an exception this time since that won’t stop you.” With both phones in hand she then punched in Evren’s number into Kit’s phone and then had his phone call Evren’s. She then handed Evren’s phone to her before going back to type numbers into Kit’s phone. “I’m putting in the clinic number and our home phone number into your phone as well.” She said finishing up that before handing it to Kit. Alyssa stared blankly at him. “It’s for emergency as you can see Ren is the type who easily loses her phone.” Evren pouted at that comment. Kitomyx Yep I saw just trying to figure out how to get Ananke in there.

"Aaand...that makes sense how?" he asked Alyssa, raising a brow. But to his surprise, Evren seemed to go along with this claim. As she explained, he thought he got a better sense of what the two girls meant. His own little sister had to be guided by their even younger brother in much the same way because she was so bad with directions.
At Alyssa's sigh and words of disapproval, Kit sneered. "Well, thank you, Miss-Secretary-of-Evren," he answered, his tone making it difficult to tell if he was being sarcastic or not. "You sure are giving me a lot of extra phone numbers for someone who didn't think her sister should be giving her phone number out." Nevertheless, he accepted the phone with his still-present grin.
"Wait, hold on a sec - what's for emergency? Giving me those extra numbers?"Stump_Fairy ((Ah, gotcha~ Sorry this response took me so long!))

Alyssa just huffed. "Isn't it obvious? There have been more attacks going on lately... Evren is the type that is an easy target." Evren puffed her cheeks in a pout. "It was only like three times!" Alyssa just seemed to ignore Evren and put her hands on her hips. "And if you're planning on hanging out with her more then its just easier to get it over and done with. Also think of it as you've now got a vet's phone number... Our Dad is also the type of person who helps out anyone if he can so I guess if you're ever in trouble as well then you can call." Evren laughed nervously and scratched her cheek. "Hehee.. sorry about this Kit... I've sorta been on lock down since I had to go to the hospital last month." Kitomyx Feel like wrapping this up?

Kit was about to ask what kind of attacks, but then he thought he might have known. Even without all the crime going on in the city, there were plenty of energy thieves and other powered criminals running around attacking people. Regarding Evren again, he thought he understood what Alyssa might have meant.
"Three times? You mean you got attacked three times?" he asked, astonished. "Maybe you should keep that killer dog with you more often."
Nodding in response to Alyssa, Kit waved a hand. "I gotcha. Sounds like she needs a bodyguard badly, so maybe I'll be able to help by hanging out with her more."
"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind," he told the younger girl, smiling at the offer about calling if he was in trouble. Not that he ever expected to be making that call, but it was nice to be told that just the same.
He smiled at Evren. "Hey, don't sweat it, Ev. I mean now you've got me curious about that hospital trip, but I'd hate to be too nosy, especially since we just met." He held up his phone. "And now that I have your number, I guess I can just text you about it or call you to meet up some other time to talk about it. And feel free to call me whenever, too."
Kit glanced at the sky. "Alright, 'fraid I gotta get going, girls. Now that Alyssa's here, guess there's no real need for me to walk you the rest of the way home, Evren. Seems like you'll be pretty safe with her." He gave them a wink and turned to go. "It was nice meeting you, ladies. Hope we can do this again sometime."Stump_Fairy ((Sure, sounds good to me!))

Evren just smiled awkwardly at the amount of times she mentioned she got attacked. She supposed this was the hard part of her secret job… the keeping it a secret part. “Ehh, I’ll keep that in mind but it’s not like I know when things like that will happen.” Alyssa just kept her arms crossed and rolled her eyes. Evren then nodded. “Mm I’ll tell you another time… if I remember that is.” She snorted in her head about how funny that sounded to her. “Of course she’ll be fine with me… you’re more than welcome to leave.” Alyssa then went over and took the leash from Evren leading the dog in the direction to their destination. Evren then hurried over to her side after a few seconds of processing what just happened. “Bye Kit!” She waved her arm around looking back over in the direction he went off to. “Let’s talk again real soon!”
