Havasu watched as the kid rushed right at him, rather than dodging or even moving the squire stayed still braced for anything the nega could dish up… well as best as he could. Even expecting it, when the punch landed it knocked some of the wind out of his sail and he let out a grunt of pain even as he went and grabbed for the lieutenant's wrist. He was planning to recycle a move that was used on him a little bit ago by a teammate.

With a bit of luck and a touch of skill he was hoping to use the nega’s own momentum against himself by yanking on his wrist and spinning at the same time, releasing his wrist at just the right moment. If the move was executed properly the kid would go flying face first into the dirt, much like Havasu had done. It was always possible the kid wouldn’t react the way Hav had, then again it was possible he would. The squire had gotten up and tried to tackle his fellow knight, intent on punching his face in, but unlike the lieutenant Hav had a lot of mad stored up and it kind of bubbled over that night, much to his current chagrin.

With his own reaction to the move bright in his mind the squire skipped back a few steps, absently rubbing his ribs where the punch had landed, eyeing the lieutenant to see what he would do. It was something he had to have beaten into his thick skull; wait and asses, then attack. Besides he didn’t really want to hurt the kid, the poor fellow had just been dragged into the wrong side of this stupid war.

Arseno was taken by surprise as his wrist was grabbed and while not being totally twisted, did throw him off balance. There was no way he was going to miss the ground and regain his footing so he had to remember how to hit the ground with the least amount of damage to himself. He quickly moved so that his right side would hit the ground first and with a loud ‘thud’ it did. He rolled a bit to lessen the impact but he had probably sprained if not broken something in his arm at this point.

He tried to get up as quickly as he could, ignoring the pain but grunting a bit at it as he felt it get worse as he got up, but get up he did and was glad that his head hadn’t hit the ground though he had used his arms to protect it.

During all of this he lost the grip on his cane and it was now somewhere in the grass and Arseno figured that it would be pretty useless at this point. He would need both arms and one of them hurt to the point where he could grip anything. This squire certainly knew a lot more about fighting than Arseno did and was impressed at his skill. This wasn’t the time to admire his opponent though and he quickly thought of an idea that might work after spotting where the cane had landed.

He could still walk normally so he managed to run a bit past the squire, not near the man, but around and behind him, and then tried to summon his cane back to him. It materialized back into his hand and he ran at the squire, and swung the cane at the squire, hoping to land a hit.

Havasu was hoping the kid would stay down but when he got up Hav turned with him. He wasn’t scared of the nega, which wasn’t a good thing since the kid was still dangerous, but he had his training beaten into him… in a fight you keep your eye on your opponent. He was ready for anything the nega was going to do, at least he thought so at least as long as it took for him to see the lieutenant coming at him swinging his cane.

The squire hesitated for a split second, his mind running through possibly counter attacks, before ducking the swing but unfortunately the split second was a half second too long and the cane clipped the top of his head, his hat went flying and his ears started to ring as Havasu staggered a bit, taking a knee as his vision swam. He gave his head a slight shake, trying to dislodge the ringing in his ears but failing, rather than worry about it too much the knight sprang right into a counter attack. He propelled himself off the ground and went to tackle the negaverser. He was hoping to pin the kid to the ground, holding him there till the kid decided further fighting wasn’t worth it, but Havasu had a feeling his idea wouldn’t go as planned… nothing else in his life had so why would this.

Arseno would have given himself a small congratulations to himself in his head for the hit, if he wasn’t almost immediately tackled, this time unable to keep himself from falling onto his back. At least he was able to keep his head off the ground so it wouldn’t be the first thing to smash into the grass. However he did hit the ground and pain shot up into his back and shoulders and the air was taken out of him. It took him a few rapid breaths to try and regain the ability to breath back and he was glad that negaverse agents had a slightly quicker healing ability, because he was sure it would have taken him longer otherwise.

He groaned out loud a bit, not caring that the squire could hear his pain. It hurt darn it and he was not used to pain! He went out of his way to avoid it! Unfortunately he was unable to really attack now, other than swing a bit before his arms were pinned down. He wasn’t sure if he could really use his legs either in a situation like this unless he could bring them to his abdomen and push the squire off of him. However at this point he wasn’t able to do that.

Your post should close it. I hope this also helps with pushing him towards becoming a better negaverser heart

Havasu stared down at the negaverser he had actually been able to pin, surprise flickering across his face before being replaced by a cool, nearly pitying look. “Chill out dude,” he said gruffly, doing his best to keep the kid from hurting himself or Hav before the lieutenant stopped fighting. “I’m not going to hurt you. Not intentionally at least,” the knight ad ended with a slight, apologetic shrug. “Look you made your point. You aren't a coward. You won't run from your ‘responsibilities’, misguided as they are.”

The sandy haired young man started to shake his head sadly but stopped abruptly when the ground seemed to tilt slightly. His head was seriously throbbing. All Hav wanted to do now was take a few painkillers and get some sleep. “You need to find out what you're fighting for kid because there are those who just see a negaverse agent and not some lost kid who doesn't understand what he is doing.” Hav frowned slightly, how long ago was it that he would have thought the same thing? When exactly did his thinking change? With a sigh Hav shifted slightly, preparing to get up… And the hell out of there. “You don't have to stay with them but I can't force you. Just know you have another option.”

In one swift move the squire sat up, called in his rope, got up, and triggered the magic. A few moments later he was standing next to the drained civilian, his own energy really dragging with the use of his own magic. Using it always seemed to wipe him out, his throbbing head didn't help either. The knight absently touched his head where the kid hit him, tisking at the blood he found on his fingers. That staff must have nicked him, now he would have to take care of that too. Sighing again Hav gave the lieutenant a few last words of wisdom, “Go home kid. Go home and really think about your options because if you're going to stay on that side of the war then you really need to learn to fight. Your side is deadlier than mine so you best learn to protect yourself.” With that he knelt down and shouldered the dead weight of the poor fellow that was the kid’s victim before heading out of the park. He was planning on taking the guy to the hospital but with the way his head was starting to hurt Hav amended his plan to just dumping the guy in a populated place before calling it quit for the night.

Quote:
Second Stage -- Rope. Still rather simple in appearance maybe now it braided, cream/tan colored, but approximately jump rope length - Slight Power

~ It has grown o.O... no really now the string is a rope and it can do things! The rope has the power to warp time. Those that hold on to the rope move faster, as if the world around them has slowed down. This effect affects anyone who grasps the rope, friend or foe, and only lasts 30 seconds total. It leaves no real effects except maybe slight disorientation, like stepping off a moving sidewalk in a airport.

Arseno glared a bit at the squire, though not in true anger. Although he hadn’t hit his head first, he still bumped it a bit so he was in a bit of pain there. Though he did grimace underneath his mask as the squire gave him a look of pity. Once again this “fight” hadn’t really been a fight. More like a couple of hits and they were over and done talking. Arseno wondered if this would become a pattern for him.

Listening to the squire’s words Arseno realized that he truly did need to think about all of this, and perhaps try to gain as much information as he could not only about “his” side, but also about the other side too. The only thing he gave as any acknowledgement to the squire however, was a small nod. He winced a bit as the squire got off of him, not realizing how badly he had been hurting until now. Adrenaline rushes were quite amazing, though he hoped that he would be healed by the next day. He shouldn’t have any huge injuries or anything.

He sighed to himself, using his elbows to sit up, as he watched the squire take his victim away. Well, at least he couldn’t be seen as a loser at least. And he hadn’t run away so he couldn’t be punished for that. But was the negaverse really something that he wanted to continue to stay in? A place that punished you for missing deadlines, for not draining as much as you should, for not going to every assignment? But what did the other side have to offer? He would surely be called on to fight there too if he managed to… change to the other side. And he would probably have less training too it seemed. Or at least he felt as though the other side might be a bit more disorganized, but that was perhaps because there seemed to be so few of them.

He looked around, and was glad that he couldn’t see anyone and hoping that there had been no other agents around to see him like this, before he powered down and laid on the grass for a bit, trying to find the energy to go back home.
