Lawrence shrugged said shoulders, demonstrating that in spite of the dangerous looking spikes bristling around his shoulders that he could very easily move with the claws summoned.

Rodney got that same look of slight consternation. "Why aren't you scared of them now?"

"Good," Rodney said, and Butch did look more. And stronger.
"Because you sounded...I don't know. Not...not happy with me, and then...all of a sudden you had him out and rushed at me. And pushed me against the back wall. I thought you were going to start...um. Attacking."
Rodney rubbed his arm, looking in another direction.
"It's what I'm used to," he whispered. "Lectures, and then. I know you haven't. But...in the moment... I know it's not the same in a fight either. I like Butch. I don't get nervous about him. He's fine. It just...happened so quickly."

Lawrence listened but he still didn't understand. A lot of what Rodney talked about seemed to hint at something larger and which had gone primarily unspoken. He found it difficult to understand how past events could have enduring trauma on someone to the degree that they would re-live it or some echo of it when threatened.
"I suppose that is fair." he said, not wanting to pry too much further, assuming that he had already pushed enough.
"I was like a coiled spring that just came loose all at once I think." he said. "It seemed logical to me at the time, though less logical now. I wasn't angry at you."

He shook his head vigorously. "No no, not at his apartment. A lunatic who wants to kill me lives there. On the training fields. He was sparring me."

Lawrence shrugged his shoulders.
"Come if you like." he said. He had tried to be honest with the other man as much as he could and potentially having Rodney there would lend an honesty to the query that might otherwise be lost. It would be easy for Harrison to think he was just taking the mickey if he started asking about libido.
