Lifting a hand to rub his temples for a moment he seemed to be trying to think on how best to explain everything. After a moment he said, "We... didn't... our relationship was one that was... complicated. Nothing was exactly... planned out?" How could he tell him that the first time they really met the two of them were being stupid, got drunk, and ended up with a pair of kids? He didn't want his sons to think they weren't waned or that they were accidents... even if they were. In the long run they were 'happy accidents' since they were wanted and loved he thought to himself. That aside there was a reason for why Chalcedony had never imbibed in any alcohol after that night so long ago.
Giving a slight wince he nodded, "There was... a lot that was made awkward by your uncles, especially given that he was the one that helped with your birth and that of your brother." It probably didn't help that the fact that Chalcedony was the father of Keilana's children was only revealed to Takoda and Jacinthus at that moment as well. It only made things between Chalcedony and Jacinthus only that much more tense, not that they were exactly friendly with each other to begin with due to being rivals where Takoda was concerned. Adding Keilana to the mix only made it that much more difficult a situation.
"Hm? What exactly happened... I guess... put very simply was that two people fell in love with the same person and in the end only one could end up with his heart." He said, giving a slow sigh, "I was... upset, your mother as well due to her own reasons... and things... happened from there."

Chandra was silent as he listened to his father, it sounded like a lot of things were being left out in the history of their strange family. So ...it sounded like Chalcedony and Jacinthus had been fighting over Takoda's affections. Takoda had ended up with Jacinthus leaving things strained and frustrated. He wasn't entirely sure how his mother played into all this but it was suggested that she was angry at the time for her own reasons.
Was it that his anger was being directed at the wrong person? It sounded like a lot of the problems stemmed from Takoda. But the man was timid and compassionate perhaps he could understand why both his father and uncle fell for the shifter. But still....
"Dad...be honest with me, it sounds like Aysun and I were a mistake. However it came to be we weren't intended to be." Chandra sounded eerily calm about this fact. Perhaps it was because it had niggled at the back of his mind for quite some time now. "I...am not angry about that...I.." Chandra felt himself deflate somewhat as he went to rub his own temples.
"Am just frustrated. I want to protect Aysun so I won't tell him..you have a good relationship with him, heh...he is a lot like you sometimes. I guess I am more like mom.." Chandra managed with a small laugh that sounded tired. "I can't make you love mom, but...could you at least visit her more often? I know you have a new lady friend..but.." Chandra rubbed the back of his neck. He didn't want to acknowledge this new woman of his dads, he felt he would have to meet her eventually but he dreaded he'd say something terrible to her.

Chalcedony gave a shake of his head, "Chandra, you might have been unplanned, even accidental, but nothing about you and your brother was a mistake. I was ready to do whatever I could the moment that Keilana told me that she was with child. I wanted to be a father to the two of you, so please don't think that you were a mistake. You were just born a lot earlier then when I thought I might become a father was all."
Giving a nod he said, "I will do my best to try to visit, to see how your mother is fairing, as well as check in on you and Aysun if the two of you happen to be in the area." He wasn't sure how easy it would be to find them in Tale, likely as easy as it was to find the two of them anywhere. It was a sort of hit or miss sort of thing. One in which he'd often found himself alone in the house until when they weren't visiting. At least until Rajani came about... though it seemed that his son still had the wrong idea about all of that.
"Chandra... she isn't a 'lady friend', I've never had any... 'lady friends' of that variety. Rajani is a child, an orphan, who needed a place to stay and a nudge in the right direction." A direction that didn't involve stealing he thought to himself, slightly worried about the girl when it cam e to that aspect of things. Giving a little sigh he said, "I don't know if it means a lot but she's not here for... that sort of thing."

Chandra listened quietly, now that he had gotten a majority of his anger out he no longer felt the need to use harsh words against his father. He didn't regret yelling at his dad, some may of felt remorseful for acting in such a manner but he only felt better to get all of those nagging questions answered. Though they weren't answered in a completeness he would of preferred he also didn't want to push this uncomfortable conversation to go on any longer.
The idea of his father taking in a lost child didn't seem out of the ordinary. He couldn't help but feel a bit jealous that this random girl was getting more attention from his father than he was. Taking a deep breath he tried to hide the fact he looked hurt by this information. Chandra was an adult now, but he felt like such a child at times. Getting so angry over little things, over things that had bugged him for such a long time.
".....Perhaps you should be paying more attention to your own family than this girl you found." Chandra managed as he went to turn away from his father, "You know what...I don't care anymore. As long as you don't hurt Aysun you can go ahead and have fun with your new pet project."
With that Chandra went to walk away from his dad. He didn't care what Chalcedony might say to him now or may call out to him. The only way to stop him from leaving was to probably grab him and force him to stay.

It was a rather painful experience, hearing his son telling that he didn't care anymore... heartbreaking as well as his son turn away from him, seeming as though he were done with him. There were no words to express what he felt and as such he said nothing just stood there as Chandra walked away from him. Lifting a hand to rub his thumb and forefinger against his stinging eyes he turned on his heel. He knew he'd look like a weakling and a foold if he let himself getting all teary eyed. No to mention his son would think even worse of him then he already seemed to.
He'd let him go, feeling that if it was better for Chandra to return to his training in Tale, to be with his mother and Uncles, then so be it. Somewhere along the lines it seemed as though he'd dropped the ball with his eldest, to the point that it seemed Chandra... hated him. He'd thought, hoped, that if he let him vent that he'd get everything off his chest feel better, that maybe they could talk things but, but it wasn't the case. Chandra was... done with him... seemed to want to think the absolute worst of him, and maybe he was right?
He'd gotten hung up on Takoda, for so long the chance at another relationship since he was too old for such things now. He'd stopped traveling all that far from Sol because he'd gotten tired of just going from one war to another, meaning he didn't visit his sons and Keilana enough. He'd extended a lonely hand to Rajani, which seemed to make Chandra loathe him that much more for taking care of her instead of him. He'd go on a walk with the radaku, think things over, and maybe he could figure out where he'd gone wrong and what he was supposed to do? Hard to say though if such a thing were possible at this point though.
