Lawr laughed despite himself. "Is that what they say?" He didn't bother to ask who they were, already knowing too well. "But yes, probably. I apparently don't feel emotions to the same degree as other people do. People get caught up in things like love and happiness and so on. I just act the way people seem to think I should." he shrugged.
"But I think sometimes that maybe everyone is the same way, just better at it."

"That's probably true, you know. I also get the feeling you are feeling something, or you wouldn't care. I don't think anyone else feels the way I do. So I don't think that it's wrong that you feel even more different... It just felt like an over simplification of what makes you, well, you."
She didn't try to analyze what he was, she was sure it was far more complicated beyond her comprehension and likely Lawr himself did not know.
"I ignored it mostly anyway, because bullies always like to simplify everything. A little slower? They toss the R-word around. Hyperactive? Here comes the accusations that you're on 'something' illicit."

"Just a well practised liar." he said with a smile. Even this conversation between them felt distant to him, despite the smiles and the niceties it was as if he wasn't truly present, he could be doing this or he could be dragging her body through the jungle and it would feel exactly the same. This was just safer and more normal, more expected.
"Most bullies are just insecure and fearful creatures, biting before they can be bitten. Case in point, some of the morons on twitter. It is all simply noise."

Melody gave him an uncertain look for his remarks, "You are a strange man. Not that anything is particularly wrong with that."
She tucked both hands behind her back, "In any case. I apologize for the trouble. Even with the circumstances..." She tried to keep her facial expression from changing any. She honestly still wasn't sure how she felt about what he'd confessed other than her initial knee-jerk freakout. She was a bit worried about how to trust someone who felt that way, even if they insinuated that the feeling had passed. Part of her even felt flattered and a bigger part was concerned that she would feel flattered at all.
Well. Lawr was a handsome man. She tried not to think about that.
".... I'd like to still consider you a friend if at all possible."
