"Kitchen, Alg!" Jeremiah calls back, leaning out of the kitchen doorway and looking towards his lover. "Chris Watts followed Hellbine home as apparently he ... escaped you and Violetta?" Hellbine was already hopping up on the chair with Violetta for his usual be an annoying smaller sibling cleaning. "You're fine and luckily enough Rosalinde's children have made it to this house as a home." The detective snorted as he turned back to the kettle. Things were being pulled from shelves, a setting for tea for three prepared. "I'm honestly surprised he let you pet him, he's been snubbing his nose at others." Blue-green eyes gave Chris a look. "You're fine. It's probably overdue that you talk to Algie and myself about what has happened." It was fairly obvious that, within his own home, Jeremiah was incredibly relaxed.

It seemed like after a few moments Violetta realized someone else was here. The oversized cat used one of her rare bursts of energy to almost trip Algie as he came into the kitchen unbuttoning the top couple buttons of his shirt. "Ah- Hello Chris," Algie stuck out his palm politely for a shake, and a twitch of the lips, "Don't mind me. I live here." "Hellbine's a menace and you know he does whatever the hell he wants." Alg moved to Jeremiah, leaning up a bit to greet the other with a small kiss and investigate the tea and dinner preparations. Violetta was winding around Chris's ankles and in moments was near standing as she pawed up his leg. Pick her up, hold her, let her sit in your lap. Anything.

Chris laughed a little, "I grew up near a bunch of cats, I figure I've learned how to sway most to my side. It doesn't work a hundred percent." He ran a hand through his hair though, giving a small sigh. "A talk would.. would be nice. Yes."
He turned to Algie, giving him a small smile and a firm shake of the hand himself. "Hello, nice to see you sir."
His attention was captured by Violetta and his smile grew broader as he picked her up, moving to a chair to sit down and give her a pet. "I'm assuming she's Violetta," Chris said to no one in particular, already enraptured by the cat.

Jeremiah did not go pink from the display of affection but he definitely had a pleased smile on his face. Especially when his fingers caught Algie's wrist and held against his pulse a moment and then pressed a kiss back. "I'm aware of the fact that I've got the problem child." He snorted and then watched as Hellbine was around the corner in the next moment. The small cat was hopping up onto a stool next to Chris and staring. So hard. Welcome home is mumured into Algie's ear and he's gesturing to the tea that's just about ready. There was always something put aside in the fridge for immediate arrival home snacking because he had not started dinner yet. "There's a lot going on but I'm sure you know that," blue-green eyes cut to Chris, "and you're likely wanting to know about your missing students." Which was information that Algie and himself had.

Algie's fingers curled around Jeremiah's when he was close, sliding away as he moved to the fridge. He pulled out some kind of small cut up sandwiches and set them out on the table. God, they were so English.Algie took over the tea duties while Jeremiah did other things, "Who we've found at least... and I suppose it's good and bad news." The green eyed man glanced over his glasses at Chris, having come to the kettle just at the right time for it to whistle.

Chris didn't do much but glance at the affection before back down at the cat in his lap. They lived together and he assumed they were married and for a second he felt a little lonely with the lack of love in his life. But it was something for him not to spy on, anyways.
He glanced over at Hellbine, who had hopped up, and gave a laugh before giving him a pet too. He'd never commandeered the attention of so many cats before.
"That would be fantastic, yes. Any news is.. something at least. I've thought to go looking myself but it didn't pan out." Chris gave a bit of a shrug, trying to tone back the sort of desperation in his voice that had come through. He still felt terrible.

Given the chance and the start of petting, Chris would find his lap full of both Hellbine and Violetta. They were both all about the pets. Maybe Hellbine was just a little jealous his lazy big sister had gotten it before him. Who knew. Jeremiah gave Algie a soft smile when he took over the tea. He made sure that the snack sandwiches were slid towards Chris so that he could partake if he wanted. "Well ... you remember that we found Heliodora, obviously." The detective went to busy himself with starting to prepare dinner. Both Algie and himself moved around each other in the kitchen like they had been like this for years (that was so far from the case). Chris got an interested look at the mention of looking himself. "What happened when you tried to go yourself and look?"

Violetta seemed to increase in size when given attention, from a large cat to a long pancake cat, though Hellbine had no problem walking all over her and even using her as a cushion as well. Thankfully, she seemed to be used to it. Chris soon would find the lap of his pants covered in soft springy moss. Algie brought the kettle to the table, and mugs, and prepared himself and Jeremiah cups while offering to the blonde man with indications to the milk and sugar. "I found her easily myself. Easier than before..." Algie's brows rose, "She was very accomodating. If not a bit bored." He joked, "She might even be open to homework at this point, if only for something to do-"

Chris took his hands off the cats (and he'd be a liar if he said he wasn't enjoying the attention of them) to nab himself a sandwich, taking a bite in thought.
"Oh, I ended up finding myself in a garden actually. I was wandering and not fully paying attention I guess and I just found it," He started, realizing he'd only ever told Autumn what had happened. He really needed to expand his circle. "It looked really nice, full of weird plants, but when I tried to leave the spirit of ivy on the gate tried to lock me in."
If his lap wasn't occupied by cats and his hand a sandwich, he would've been fussing with his sleeve. "I made it a deal, I just traded it tea for leaving the garden and for how to get home. After getting locked in, I really didn't want to test my luck anymore in Other Ashdown."
He gave a weak smile, finally looking up from his lap full of cats and noticed Algie offering him tea. "Oh, uh yes please. Just some sugar, if you could pass it over? But i don't know, most students aren't happy to see me with homework."

"Spirit of the ivy?" Not the strangest thing he had heard but it was still odd all the same. At hearing about a deal, Jeremiah shot Chris a look. "Be careful of making deals, as some things that are from there don't make all the consequences of them clear." He let out a huff as he continued to move around and set things up for dinner. It was all he would say on the matter. "If you do need to get back there for any reason, I can take you. It's better to not go alone." He paused a moment, fingers grazing the inside of Algie's wrist as he slipped by him and then along his back. "We'll actually be going there again at some point to work on magic." Hellbine definitely had no problem walking all over his sister and in fact kind of merged with her as he laid on top of her. Their fur blended together quite well. "She may be. Heliodora can't leave her demesne or so it appears."

Alg fixed Chris's tea as well and slid it into his reach because they cats were making it impossible for him to do much else beside stay where he was. "No- They can't leave," Alg sipped his tea and finally sat himself down in a chair at the table, "Which is good because we know roughly where they are. Bad obviously because they won't be coming home." The bespectacled man sighed a bit, "The trouble is that they've chosen to be there." He glanced at Jeremiah and then back at Chris, "To keep back.. the enemy. Though we shouldn't speak too much on it. Heliodora explained it all to me." It knows.

"I've heard," He said, chewing on the inside of his cheek for a second. "But the tea was my offer, as a trade. I think I've gotten out okay. Nothing bad has happened, anyways."
"It'd be nice to have company," Chris agreed, reaching for his tea and giving Algie a soft 'thank you' before taking a sip. It was good, just how he liked it.
He glanced at the cats in his lap before giving them a quick pet and another bite of his sandwich. They were quite a pair.
"They can't leave?" He asked, dumbfounded for a second. All of them couldn't come home? He was staring at Algie intently now, fingers drumming on his tea before he took another sip. "I think Autumn explained it to me.. but. They've all chosen to stay there."
Chris sighed, then asked "They're all okay at least right? Heliodora seemed okay and I just... want to make sure the others are too."

"They made their choice to be there, like Algie said. To hold back-" The Enemy. Jeremiah's hand flicked in the air before he was putting a skillet onto the stove and turning it on. In another moment there was the smell of cooking. "If there's a way for them to come back, we've not found it." He looked over his shoulder towards both of them before he was grabbing his own tea cup to take a drink of. His promise Sunny still hung heavy on his shoulders. "They are content there or Heliodora is. We've not found Michael or Adoelle to see if they're of the same opinion but for now." PeanutButterpies u know ur gonna end up staying for dinner, right chris?

"She didn't know where they were.." Alg sighed, "But if they leave. It's free." He didn't want to tell Chris the worst news, that he had seen Heliodora's fate. That Sunny had shown him the vision of it. Not one death- two. But who was the other? Or the culprit? He didn't know Chris very well but telling him they may be murdered didn't seem like the best plan. "But Heliodora is apparently very bored. I sent her books, so if you get back over there.. Maybe you can bring her something." Alg smiled, "Just think about wanting to meet her, head into the forest, and it should be rather easy to find her."

Chris only nodded, staring down at this tea and running his finger along the rim of the mug. If Heliodora didn't know, it was unlikely Chris himself would find out without running into some danger. As good as his luck had been, he didn't want to press it.
"A visit to her then. Books sound like a good idea, I'm not sure what else I could bring. Knitting?" His mouth quirked back into something of a smile.
"I'll do that next time then, instead of wandering. I doubt I'd get lucky in my second time around if I ran into something else."
